good afternoon sara bloomquist is off and in the news security efforts are heightened following sunday's deadly shooting in las vegas as strangers step up to honor the victims and a school in new jersey is closed after mold was discovered. and parents are expressing anger and confusion about the district's actions. and the big story on "action news" at tropical storm nate. which is being blamed on two dozen deaths in central america and could reach the gulf coast as a hurricane over the weekend. nate dumped 6 to 10 inches of rain over honduras and it's likely to stren enover the caribbean sea. and louisiana and alabama and florida have issued warnings. >> you need to be where you want to be by dark on saturday.

>> we are experiencing another storm and we all have to be prepared. >> the storm is already impacting the oil industry, exxon and shell have shut down some facilities in the gulf and some production is already off line. and while states along the gulf coast are bracing for weather from nate. become here at home we are dealing with unseasonably high temperatures again. sky 6 hd look agent at the center city skyline. we could see remnants of tropical storm nate next week. latest from melissa magee in the storm center. >> we get into early monday into tuesday, we could find changes and tropical moisture as a result of nate. working its way into our region. but as far as the latest with tropical storm nate. maximum sustained winds 50 miles per hour moving north-northwest

at 14 miles per hour. right now still in the north western caribbean of that region. moving over the yucatán peninsula later this evening. as far as the track with nate we'll take a closer look and you see we are tracking the storm system as it moves to the north-northwest. in an environment with little wind shear and this will strengthen through the rest of our weekend. 127 miles southeast of cozumel, mexico and into saturday evening. it makes landfall as a category one or strong tropical storm for the gulf states, that is something we are tracking closely and as we get into next week some remnant moisture will make its way into the delaware and lehigh valleys. as far the season so far it's active. one of the most active seasons we have seen as far as the u.s. is concerned since 2005. back in 2005 we had eight storms

meanwhile, investigators are narrowing in on whether the gunman had help and what may have happened in the hours leading up to the shoot. marcy gonzales is in las vegas with the latest. >> reporter: investigators say they still have questions for the gunman's girlfriend as we learn more about who that other mystery woman he was spotted with might be. >> officials tell abc news that investigators trying to figure out whether the las vegas mass murderer was alone. they believe the woman he was seen with was a prostitute. and may have had an come police because of the amount of guns in the hotel room and some ammo was bought under someone else's name. >> there are people that know this individual and help us understand this individual. and learning more about paddock's final hours, he reportedly called in two noise

raised so far. in las vegas, marcy gonzales, channel 6 "action news." back here injuries have been reported in connection with a head-on crash in philadelphia's fairmont park section. chopper 6 hd is over the scene of martin luther king drive and they tell "action news" that the crash happened before 9:30 this morning. mlk drive was shut down approaching sweet briar drive on the scene and the extent of injuries is not known and still unclear what caused the crash. >> in new jersey students at holly glen elementary school in gloucester county are taking classes in three different schools now that the board of education voted to close their school due to mold. it led to a number of questions and concerns from parents and unclear it will take to decontaminate the building. janet reyes is live with the concerns this afternoon. >> reporter: well rick, after the reports confirmed long held fears of mold here at holly glen

elementary school and we talked to parents and there are a lot of questions and few answers. one of their big et concerns is how long were their children exposed to this and what are the long-term health affects? >> parents in williamstown are angry and confused. after tests for mold came back positive. >> alicia thompson found out this morning her daughter's school will be closed for weeks and possibly months. >> this is rediculous, i'm feeling like wow i wasn't aware and didn't know, waiting at the bus stop with my daughter and no bus comes. >> thompson says they are 6-year-old daughter lakisha already missed four days of school this year. >> sneezing uncontrollably, constanty, and coughing and a lot of mucus in there, and taking her back and forth to the doctor. >> this doctors note explains

allergies and maybe reacting to one or a number of things like mold, mildew, animal dander or other allergens. they announce that students would be dispersed to several other schools in the district in the meantime. >> what am i suppose to do as a parent? >> jennifer's daughter has autism and worried about her health and the sudden drastic change to her environment may affect her. >> is she going to be thrown in or a waste of a year. she was sick so much last year and never crossed my mind, mold. never crossed my mind. and i have never been so upset in my life. >> and the more than 500 students that attended school here will be transferred to three other schools in the district temporarily. and in the meantime six other schools in the district will be tested for mold. reporting live in williamstown,

with precipitation, sky 6 hd looking at the commodore barry bridge on this friday afternoon. a few high, thin, cirrus clouds moving across the region but we stay dry as we go through the afternoon and into the start of our weekend. right now in philadelphia, coming in at 76 degrees and 74 for allentown and reading and down in cape may, 76 and dover 80 and millville holding on to 80 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing you we have a fair amount of sunshine overhead today. there say frontal boundary making its way to the east. and the frontal boundary extends back to the midwest and sagging back to the southeast. and as it does so a couple of showers are likely, that is not heading our way into the second half of the weekend. clouds and sunshine on our friday, warm and high temperature in philadelphia today maxing out at 80. 13 degrees above the average of

another tropical storm takes a deadly toll and is expected to make landfall in the u.s. this weekend. we have the latest on nate. and also a mold problem at one south jersey school has forced students to be moved out of the classroom and more details are emerging about the las vegas mass murderer and the cities he may have planned to attack. now the details on tropical storm nate. it formed in the western caribbean sea and has since proven deadly and likely to gain strength in the gulf of mexico and possibly become a hurricane before making landfall in the u.s. the storm has taken seven lives in costa rica, and led to the evacuation of 5,000 people. it has topped trees and flooded roads and at least 80 shelters are set up for those forced to leave their homes. and nate is on a path to hit sunday morning somewhere along the louisiana, mississippi or alabama coast. americans are getti
