pottstown, 59. quakertown, 59. malvern, 63. glassboro, 63. fortescue, 69. hammonton, 62 degrees. the close up shot, satellite and radar waking up to mainly clear conditions. we've expanded the view, there's a lot of cloud cover across western pennsylvania the state of ohio and ohio and tennessee valleys. all that cloud cover is pushing east. today we'll have gradual increase in clouds. starting out sun, high, thin clouds move in later on. 1:00 p.m., 83. 4:00 p.m., 82. we're forecasting a high of 83. hurricane watches and warnings are in effect from new or looks through gulfport, mississippi and mobile alabama. we are expecting the hurricane to come onshore around midnight tonight. it presently has winds up to 80 miles per hour with gusts up to 100, further strengthening is expected over the next 1 hours. i'll be back in just a few

minutes, i'll have a closer look alternate's track and impact here around the delaware and lehigh valleys. >> folks along the gulf coast are protecting their property as hurricane nate enters the gulf of mexico as a category one storm. boat owners are taking the extra steps they need to trach during a hurricane. those living in southern louisiana have been told to evacuate their homes. nate is expected to make landfall sometime tonight. the city of new orleans keeping a close eye on the storm. that's because of the city's fragile pumping system. louisiana has mobilized hundreds of national guard troops ahead of the storm. new orleans' mayor is helping to avoid the same problem that plagued florida following hurricane irma. >> i want this sent out to all

the nursing homes and facilities caring for the elderlies, they are responsible for their safety. if you don't have a generator, get one, if you have a broken one, call us. >> city of new orleans preparing fortunate, and nate slam into central america yesterday, many have lost power and have no running water. goarng weekend will have more -- "good morning america" weekend will have more on nate and the preparations along the gulf coast for the storm's arrival. 70 -- 7:03 a.m., power was knocked out in a south jersey community after a neil carlinsky carlinsky -- after a car crashed into a utility pole white pours

pike and egg harbor road. it slammed into a utility pole. the driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition. utility crews were brought into make sure repairs were made to the pole and restore power. a big rig involved in a crash on i-95 in south philadelphia collided with a motorcycle. this happened just after midnight near the packer avenue exit in the southbound lanes. that motorcyclist was thrown from his bike. he was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital. the biker is in stable condition. this morning police are searching for the person who shot a woman during an attempted robbery in the city's mantua section. police say no money was taken, but the woman was badly injured. dann cuellar which is the details. >> reporter: police say it was about 8:30 that a customer went into freddie grocery to buy cigarettes as she often does, but realized something was wrong. >> she doesn't see the owner

operator at the counter where she always sits. >> she looks back and see the owner bent over and she can't talk and blood coming from her neck. >> reporter: the 48-year-old owner was rushed to presbyterian medical center. the gunman was a black male in a hoodie who had gone into to rob the place. >> the offender went in announced a robbery, she opens the register, a shot is fired he wounds her. >> reporter: police are looking through surveillance footage to get a better look at the assailant. >> from looking at the scene, appears that the register was opened but it doesn't appear any money was taken. this is a senseless act a person going in the early evening hours at a business half-hour before closing with a 48-year-old female working by herself. he has a gun, no need to fire

the gun and put the person in this condition. >> reporter: police have very little information on the description of the gunman. they are trying to sort through surveillance footage to get a better handle, but again, he was wearing a hoodie. in the mantua section, dann cuellar channel 6 "action news." >> vice president mike pence scheduled to visit las vegas later today to take part in a ceremony horn the victims of last weekend's massacre. the vice president is expected to speak at an event there this afternoon. it is the first time vice president mike pence has been to las vegas since sunday answer massacre. when he arrived in las vegassing he may see billboards asking people with credible information about the shooting or the gunman to call the fbi. investigators have yet to find a motive for the horrible attack. they say the gunman stephen paddock left behind very little clues about what led him to carry out the deadliest mass

"action news" at that scene of the shooting on the unit block of carver lane in trenton, new jersey, yesterday afternoon. police say a 58-year-old woman was killed. a 14-year-old girl was hurt in the shooting. investigators have not said if the two were related or if they were intended targets. federal investigators have prevented a plot to carry out a terror attack in new york city. authorities say the criminals planned to detonate bombs in time square, the subway and concert venues. the suspects were arrested a year ago. they were busted by an undercover fbi agent who
