that there are moldy ceiling tiles in williamstown middle school. tonight, there's an emergency meeting to address the shutdown along with parents' concern and confusion. "action news" reporter bob brooks is live outside of williamstown high school tonight with more on the story. bob. >> reporter: well, rick, i can tell you i spoke with so many parents who are convinced at this point that they sent their kids to schools in the district and they've become sick because of this mold and they're the ones coming out in full force for this meeting and they want some answers. first it was the closure of holly glen elementary after a test there the district found the mold levels to be too high. then shocking pictures revealed from inside williamstown middle school last friday. it's black mold infesting ceiling tiles with class in session. now all six monroe township public schools are closed for at least the remainder of this week, mold the issue and many parents say it's already made their children sick. >> it was the very first day he went back to school. completely fine all summer goes to school the first day

and comes home sick. >> the first week coming back to school going to the doctors will i can't breathe her eyes so bloodshot i really thought she was going to literally start bleeding from the eyes. >> reporter: the decision to cancel all classes was made by the district early this morning. part of a statement released reads this morning the leadership of every union came together to form the air quality task force in conjunction with the central administration and board of education. the process of checking each building's air quality takes time and it is the reason we will not be in school for the week of october 9th 2017 but many parents argue this was clearly an issue before it was made known to the public and it's because of that they've lost trust in the current administration. >> i'm heartbroken. the kids have to lose time from school because of that. these children shouldn't have to. >> reporter: what you're seeing right now is the entrance into the high school. that's where the meeting is set for tonight at 7 o'clock and just about an hour and we are an hour away and we already see there's people lining up outside of here so

no doubt this is a major issue, an issue that has exploded within the district and it's going to be a very intense meeting for now reporting live in williamstown, bob brooks channel6 "action news." rick, back to you. >> bob thank you. cheltenham high school's library is code because of a mold problem. a recent inspection found mold in the air and on the books. the library will now undergo a complete renovation including the hvac system. the project was slated for a later date but has been moved up because of the mold issue. a driver suffered serious injuries in a crash in new castle this afternoon. the accident happened around 2:30 near the intersection of commons boulevard and airport road. police say a car was making a u-turn when it was struck by the other car. crews had to rescue a driver trapped in her vehicle. police say her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. the other driver suffered only minor injuries. the investigation continues into a deadly crash this weekend that took the lives of four neighbors in gloucester township. two other people remain

hospitalized and in a very sad twist, police say all of the victims lived on the same street. "action news" reporter vernon odom is live near the accident scene tonight with more on the tragedy. vernon. >> reporter: good evening, rick. tonight traffic investigation experts are still trying to figure out why these two cars crashed head-on in broad daylight in sicklerville road right behind me here. they don't know which vehicle crossed the center line on this section of sicklerville road. >> he would do anything for anybody. he would take the shirt off his back to give to you and god loving man. >> reporter: tina mason the sister-in-law of richard mason mourns his untimely passing last night at age 53. mason was killed in this two-car head-on collision along sicklerville road at dunlap just before five ooh: his was this tan camry. he was alone in his vehicle. car in you can two was this blue cameron the driver was

panagioti. both men lived on winslow drive 2 miles from the crash scene their homes about five blocks apart. police are still trying to determine the cause of the accident that killed four in all from the ramoundos family three members lost their lives, 43-year-old panagioti, 80-year-old anastasia and 77-year-old demetrius ramoundos. two other passengers in the ramoundos car 59-year-old jack kalogridis of gloucester township and betty kalogridis of williamstown remain in cooper hospital tonight in critical condition. police still do not know exactly why it happened. >> unfortunately both drivers are deceased but certainly we want to come to the cause of the investigation and certainly to determine why it occurred. that could be a process that could take some time. >> reporter: stunned and in deep grief the ramoundos family refused comment. richard himself was grieving. he recently lost his wife to cancer. >> he was doing positive

things, enjoying music. he loved kids. he want -- went to my son's ball games. my son is only seven years old. he's just unbelievable. he would do anything for anybody. >> reporter: rick, tonight gloucester township police are asking anyone in the public to come forward if they saw this and fill them in on why this tragedy occurred on a normally quiet sunday evening. i'm vernon odom channel6 "action news" in gloucester township camden county, new jersey. >> all right, vernon thank you. the remnants of hurricane nate moved through quickly today but not before drenching the region. the heavy rain flooded portions of route 13 in new castle delaware. near a foot of water covered the road. drivers made quite a splash as they drove through the area just south of route 40. meantime the vain cutting down. not a bad monday evening. meteorologist cecily tynan is tracking what to expect for the rest of the work week.

cecily. >> [inaudible] all compliments of the remnants of nate but if you look at this double scan you can see actually nate now or what's left of nate is south of montreal, all that steady rain well north and east of it. we still have a few scattered showers as you zoom in, you can see some scattered light showers and weological get a few more of these this evening ahead of a cold front. once that front moves through, skies will become partly cloudy and tomorrow we'll see the return of sunshine. today, though, much needed rain. philadelphia officially .66-inches. considering the past three weeks until today we barely got a drop of rain, less than a tenth of an inch. at the same time it's been very warm, temperatures running more than 8 degrees above normal. so, our ground was very dry. this was desperately needed rain but it really depended on your location. this was not a uniform widespread rain. along the coast barely anything at all. atlantic city airport less than a quarter inch, wildwood

only .01 of an inch but then you head north and west, reading lancaster about three-quarters of an inch the poconos more than an inch of rain which makes sense since the center of the form was well north and west of us. high temperatures despite the clouds and rain again made it up into the 80's. that tropical humidity. if you look to the south a lot hotter. raleigh 91 degrees. southwest memphis 91 degrees. we have more warm air moving. we won't be in the 90's but future tracker showing we'll be back into the 80's tomorrow afternoon, some sunshine. the good news, the humidity will be dropping, dewpoints in the 50's but i am tracking the chance of more showers later in the week. i'll talk about that in the seven-day forecast. rick. >> all right, cecily we'll check back in a little bit later. a heavy rain may be to blame for a tree that came down in the east mount airy section of philadelphia. happened in the unit block of montana street near germantown avenue. as you can see the tree fell just inches from a car. doesn't appear to have caused any damage fortunately. this reminder visit

"action news" reporter john rawlins is live near the crime scene with more on this developing story tonight. john. >> reporter: hi, rick. we have just gotten some updated information in the last 45 minutes or so. in custody a 35-year-old man from the 2000 block of stella street in north philadelphia. he's expected to be charged later this evening. police think he broke into the wrong house that would be miss harris' house and that miss harris was not the intended target but that she died anyway. reportedly 65-year-old winnie harris lived in her well kept

home with its lavender door in the 300 block of north holly street for 40 years. she was well known and the liked. but last february, harris was shot and killed in a second floor bedroom. not long after the crime police released this video of two persons of interest, one of them appears to be carrying a handgun. harris was well known beyond her small block. she was a beloved west philadelphia community activist. her passion to create a greener city. she was the acting director of you see green, a group that has harnessed the efforts of countless volunteers employing this picks and shovels to plant thousands of trees over its 19 year history. news of an arrest was warmly greeted today. >> i'm incredibly happy about this news but i'm sure volunteers will be even more happy. the community itself loved winnie and so getting finally some justice will be long overdue. >> this is an amazing thing to hear and finally justice to be served for such an amazing human being who did so much in the community and everything

city earlier today where, yes, it was damp out there but now the rain is slowly giving a way tcloudy skies with a tteredd sky6 taking a look at the ben anklin bridge. still a lot of clouds but every now and then we do get a little bit of break in eth clouds and that will be the trend as we head through the overnight hours but the humidity is still justthrough the roof. the dewpoint right now in philadelphia 74 degrees. that's oppressive. that's as high as it was yesterday as well. two days of this oppressive humidity trenton 74, beach haven 73, allentown 73 and the dewpoint in lancaster even a little bit higher, 76 degrees. e news if you're sick of dity, i thi most people are, the humidity levels will drop. tomorrow morning some fog. it will still be humid with dewpois in the upper 60's but as we ead into the afternoon we drop into the upper 50's. wednesday we have a possibility of some showers, the dewpoint in the low 60's so sigtl humidity and -- humid and the humidity will drop and thursday will be seasonably cool.
