valley, high pressure will set up shop across the eastern seaboard and there's basically no chance of cloud cover, yet little rain from monday on, mostly sunny and very, very comfortable. i'll be back along in just a few minutes and have the details in the accu weather seven-day forecast. guys? a man is in custody after police say he tried to run down a sheriff's deputy in south philadelphia overnight. >> investigators discover add 14-year-old run away girl was inside the suspect's vehicle at the time. bob brooks live with latest on this investigation. bob, what are you hearing about this? >> reporter:'s the good the deputy and sheriff are ok. police say it was around 11:30 last night. a philadelphia sheriff's deputy was attacked by man. the weapon of choice, a car. police say the suspect tried to run them over near the intersection of bigler and 7th in south philadelphia. at this point, police haven't seen a motive for why this happened or many details we do

know the suspect had a young lady in the car, a teenager just 14 years old. police say after the suspect tried to run over the sheriff's deputy they found his vehicle right here in the 900 block of johnson street. you'll see in the video, it's a white pontiac grant preand the side view mirror was knocked off. the suspect was caught, no word on who he is but he's facing aggravated assault charges. the good news is the deputy and sheriff were uninjured. now, again, police tell us that teen a run away, again, just 14 years old, but the good news is she's expected to be ok. that deputy expected to be ok. reporting live in south philadelphia bob brooks, channel 6 action news. >> thank you. >> police tell us that a 50-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting on a porch in the city's fair hill section. that victim was shot just after 11:30 last night. on the 200 block of east westmoreland street. police say he was shot once in chest and once in the face. he was taken to temple university hospital where he later died.

security committee is asking for an investigation into the water situation on the island. following the reports that people are drinking water from a hazardous waste site >> four philadelphia officers are on their way to help with the relief effort, inspector sergeant and two deputy sheriff officers were given an official escort to the philadelphia international airport this morning. they're heading to rio in puerto rico to help get supplies to those in need. following the devastation of hurricane maria. all four of the men also have family there in puerto rico. >> some of our family members we've heard from. others we haven't heard from. we're hoping we can mac some contact while in the island. >> the group is expected to return to philadelphia on november 4. a long stretch of the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike remains closed this afternoon, crews are replacing an old bridge. the speed limit is 70 but drivers are lucky if they're able to go 20 while approaching the tourist.

australia. welcome back, sun? oh, sun, where are you? >> meteorologist chris sowers tracking the forecast, a live look, sky 6. i don't see the sun, bunch of clouds but we're told the sun will eventually come out. >> i thought you were a man your word, chris. >> what's going on >> what happened. >> did we say 12:01 or 1:01. >> ok, we'll give you an hour >> clouds are hanging tough, we're seeing a few peaks out here in philadelphia just, there's the live shot in cape may. and still dealing with lots of clouds, the humidity has increased a little bit. temperatures are kind of holding steady. right now the numbers for the most part are right around 70, but as soon as this cloud cover begins to erode and pull away, the numbers probably will shoot up five, at the point degrees within like an hour or two.

trying to piece together what happened. >> reporter: usually opened around the clock, the recording studio to say inside this building are still off limits. earlier in the evening, homicide detectives were here to investigate the shooting death of a 30-year-old man, when police arrived 7:30 a.m. found man shot in the head and back died at the scene. a bloody screwdriver was found not far from the victim. according to his facebook page, spear sound studios rents out the recording booths to music cal artists. the studio owner wrote i don't know what happened at this time, i'm seeing the image of my life's dream being destroyed, i'm a little too distraught to talk. we saw several musicians arrive and were turned away, they were told the studio will remain closed until monday, police have not publicly named the suspect. in northern liberties, jeff chirico, action news a 47-year-old man hospitalized following a shooting in kensington section. the man was shot in the chest at

around 5:30 this morning, he was found a short time later on frankford u the victim told police he was to shot while trying to stoop woman from being robbed. investigator says he crashed his car into a parked vehicle after being shot. he was taken to temple university hospital where he's in stable condition. no arrests have been made following a double shooting in burlington county new jersey. shots rang out around 7:30 last night on the unit block of bermuda circle in willingboro. both victims were taken to local hospital, so far no word on the conditions or what led to the shooting. from our delaware newsroom, a woman died after a light rail train hit her car in maryland. police say 63-year-old ms. thomas tried to make a left turn across the tracks when the crash happened friday morning, officials say there were do no enter and no left turn signs posted. her 12-year-old grandson was in the car with her taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

. >> also in delaware, three teenagers were arrested for robbing a pizza delivery driver. investigators say 19-year-old john than snyder lured the domino's driver then two 17-year-olds wearing a halloween masks jumped out of bushes holding gun, the two demanded the pizza from the driver and cash from is snyder who police say pretended to be a victim. the three were arrested following an unrelated traffic offense. a small group of white supremists marched through the philadelphia fairmount park this weekend. some of those demonstrators had on masks they say rallied along boathouse row. counter protesters confronted that group, no violence broke out unlike the charlotteville virginia clashes, police tell us they knew this was going to takes place in advance and they were on hand to keep peace. the clock is ticking for voters in new jersey who need to register for the upcoming gubernatorial election, the cut-off to register is tuesday. a few things to remember you must be 17 years old to register and 18 by election day to vote and you can also apply for a

new england, 80 is the forecasted high. normal is 67 started out at 65. so the low temperature this morning was pretty close to the normal high for this time of year. winds as anticipated starting to pick up now. out of the southwest you can see the arrows ten to 15 miles per hour, every now and then 20, they will increase throughout the afternoon and evening, and overnight. we'll see gusts to 20 or 25 miles per hour and it's warm shall temperatures are pretty close to 70, we still have a thick cloud deck, once the clouds pull away, these numbers will probably increase five, ten degrees within an hour or two, a lot of warmth above the surface here, all we have is to do is get the cloud deck. it's 75 in pittsburgh, 75 in buffalo. we're at 70, as soon as we get to the sunshine, we're taking off temperature-wise, clearly see how the numbers drop behind the front.

there it is 64 in dallas. 50 in bismarck, they dropped to the 20's this morning, chicago, 53. omaha 59 and st. louis 46. this gets here monday and tuesday and then temperatures start mod rating again. this is the only system we're watching a pretty good cold front, chillier air, not much moisture associated with it. all this front will do is knock the temperatures down. it will lower the due points, becomes very comfortable as we head into tomorrow afternoon. a tropical humidity that's suddenly resurfaced again here, that will pull off the coast and pull away. for today, cold front approaching, high pressure in control. it's a fairly quiet day, breezy but we should stay precipitation free and we get into overnight when the front crosses the area, touches off a shower around midnight and monday cooler turning sunny here winds out of the northwest, that's canadian air, high pressures only in the low to mid 60's. with the wind it will feel more
