the news that the rec center is closed for business and when it reopens is anyone's guess. it's tuesday night and the big story is the indefinite shutdown of one of the busiest rec centers. it's on the 100th block of mar street. said one member, we have nowhere else to go. dann cuellar has more. the closure is due to danger. >> that's right. the decision has left many programs in limbo as they try to relocate them to other rec centers. >> some 200 kids members of the teams that make up the south philly sharks were practicing on the ball field this as the building closed down.

>> we showed up for practice and the kids needed to go to the bathroom and they weren't allowed to go inside. >> the shutdown has caused chaos by the shutdown of the rec center used by young and old. >> the kids in the neighborhood depend on the afternoon program. that's closed now. i guess they didn't get no fair warning. >> pieces falling off here and there causing enough hazard. the building was required to be shut down immediately. >> we made the decision to close the facility until we determine the extent of repairs needed and when we can make the repairs. >> prior administrations kicked the can down the road. >> if we can't make the

what led to the crash. >> a new castle, delaware boy is fighting for his life after being shot tonight. the teen was shot several times and rushed to christiana hospital in critical condition. a wilmington mother is being held on $2 million bail after confessing to drowning a five-year-old boy and her infant son in a bathtub. she called police yesterday morning and calmly admitted it to the operator. >> it was as a matter of fact. yes, it's two homicides. yes, she made statements saying there was a drowning and her responsibility in the act. >> authorities were at her house street at 4:00 in the morning hours before the murders when she called them worried about her immigration status.

department to do just that, even doing ride alongs with officers. >> i give him credit for the fact that he's extending the olive branch. he's made it clear the issues he has with law enforcement and people of color, but he's also made additional attempts to try to make inroads to make things better. >> the league and players agreed to keep the discussion going. some argue that talk is cheap. >> we can't be satisfied by letting a few black players in to talk about the issues. we want to hear the nfl stance on police brutality as it impacts the black community. >> they are calling for a boycott during monday's eagle's game and will do a protest on the lincoln solidarity with collin kaepernick.

it is moving day for one of philadelphia's premier new addresses. "action news" was invited inside for a look at the high-rise of 500 walnut street. the 26 story glass tower overlooks independence mall under construction for two and a half years. it will be home to 35 residences. the buyers are getting an unfinished floor to design and decorate to their liking. the developer says the two story penthouse sold for nearly $18 million setting a record for philadelphia. the building itself includes uncommon spaces, uncommon common spaces like the sky lit pool and robotic parking. >> in the hunting park section of philadelphia, it's a program to bridge the gap between police and children in disadvantaged neighborhoods. if today was any indication, it
