neighborho neighborhood. they said they did not want to get involved in the investigation but learning more about the suspect arrested of 42 times and some include alleged workplace violence and also guns charges. >> i'm not interested in talking to anyone. >> no one wants to talk when we when by the home of radee prince in wilmington. he is accused of the unthinkable. police say he shot six people and five were shot at the office complex in maryland where prince worked. and three of them died. after the shooting prince drove to wilmington at the auto sales store and shot a man in the head and is he recovering in the hospital. hours after it all started the threat was over when they spotted prince near glasgow high school. >> they spotted him and he took off running through the gun and they were able to apprehend him 75 feet later and they recovered

the gun where he threw it. >> one woman did speak with us but didn't want to give her name or show her face. she is relieved her community is no longer in danger. >> it was scary and i was hoping they caught him fast. if he was just driving around shooting people it's scary. >> a witness spotted prince near glasgow high school and made the call to the tip line and reads were told to shelter in place. >> there is police activity in the area and asking all residents to sheltner place. again there is police activity in the area. and asking all residents on thanksgiving way to shelter in place. >> she was shocked to hear the suspect was spotted in her neighborhood but is sleeping easier. >> they were protecting us but it scared a lot of people. >> all right so back out live tonight, no clear motive for all

this have violence. police tell us they believe this was not random and the suspect targeted all the victims and the court date is scheduled for october 31st. >> gray, thank you. meanwhile, two of prince's coworkers survived the shooting in edgewood maryland, and they are in critical condition at the maryland shock trauma center. through their lawyer the owners of advanced granite solutions say they are grieving and trying to make sense of a senseless act. >> we hear from their families. one of which is offering forgiveness. the family is relying on their faith to get them through the tragedy. >> they held a prayer service in their home to remember their father and husband. his daughter says he talked about prince being a problem and he moved to the united states in mongolia in 1995 and is

surveillance gear. >> saw them go to the mailbox and pull letters out. and thought -- i knew exactly what they were doing, and immediately called 911. the crew from new york was soon arrested. what happened is called fishing, the theft of the u.s. mail. it's going on in new york and florida for years. postal specter from miami chose typical fishing gear a line and weight and sticky tape. >> you drop it into the collection box for the goal of the mail sticking to the tape and they can pull it back out and they will drop it into the collection box with the goal of having the mail stick to the tape and then they can pull it back out and now they have your out going mail. >> why would an organized gang of thieves target this box in may fair. it's near a check cashing store and britney is glad there are

arrests. >> i am glad yes, we have elderly people coming into the store and trust us with their bill payments and we do a lot of things electronic and they will get money orders to pay their bills and put it on the mailbox on the corner. it's so convenient. >> and they may come here because postal authorities in new york modified boxes like this one making it harder to fish thinking that those arrested were looking for easier pickings. >> those arrested on tuesday here in the 15th district will face federal charges. it's a low tech crime but a big problem in new york. they have 50 arrests since 2015 involving some $750,000 in stolen money orders. and if you use a box like this use one that is well lit in a

president obama is expected to be in newark campaigning for phil murphy today and about to take the stage, to speak with campaign workers there. he has not taken the stage yet and you see the excitement as we look live in the room. the former president is expected to give a speech backing the democratic candidate running for governor again of new jersey and also being told also will back the governor democratic candidate running in virginia as well. again, president obama has not taken the stage as of yet but in newark campaigning for phil murphy. and back the governor running in virginia. well, kim guadagno is the republican on the ticket in new jersey, "action news" checked and she did not have public events today.

she along with phil murphy took part in the final debate last night. she is running into the election. and time for a first check of the "action news" traffic report. lets go live to matt pellman in the traffic center. >> whether or not you want to head out is debatable. if you do don't head for the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound. you will have major delays, norristown to fort washington, a crash taking out the left and center lanes, the far right lane is squeezes by at 3 and 12 miles per hour. and the eastbound delays are spilling back on the southeast northeast extension and the blue route. and a couple of earlier accidents on the blue route itself. both northbound and one past mcdade and one near route 1 and

slow southbound speeds just 15 miles per hour, and you may want to think about alternated like 322 or 352. and we spotd this a crash along 95 the southbound side. this is the blue route though they are looking at now where the northbound accident was. and it cleared out but the accident on i-95 by the betsy ross bridge is taking out one lane. >> this is mount laurel, new jersey, cleaning up a crash by 295, the police officer is taking out the center lane and big problems on the septa regional rails and warminster and doylestown lines are not running because of an accident near fern rock. in willow grove 611 a crash here south of the turnpike, plenty of slowing in that vicinity as well. we'll check it again in the next half hour. >> thank you. still what head on "action news" at 4:00, it's bat total win over amazon's new

that worked around the clock on the proposal. and they submitted two videos explaining all the recreational and dining experiences the city has to offer. locally they are not the only ones trying to lure the online giant to town and delaware governor john carnie and other leaders unveiled their pitch today as well. it includes three dinner site options, one in claymont, and wilmington and fairfax. carnie touts his low taxes why they should be chosen. either city would benefit from the $5 billion investment and 50,000 jobs that amazon will bring. the company won't announce the decision until sometime next year. protesters took their message against the philadelphia beverage tax to city hall. a few dozen of them made their voices heard outside of city hall this morning. katherine scott was right there

and talked to people in support of and against the tax. >> reporter: soda on teamster trucks circled city hall where protesters hoped that their voices would reach city council inside. teamsters and business owners were among the crowd calling on the city council to repeal the tax on sweetened and artificially sweetened drinks that went into effect in january. >> we don't want them to think we went away, we are here for the long hall. >> the protest comes after elected officials in chicago voted to roll back their beverage tax after two months. city stores have seen a decline in beverage sales as consumers take their business to the suburbs that meant hundreds of layoffs. >> the bigger companies can afford to stay, the cvs's and the wal-marts and targets. they can hold on but the small

episcopal day school made the big debut in wayne. and radnor township officials join the them for the ribbon cutting, they learned more about the curriculum. a halloween tradition starts tonight in chadds ford delaware county. it's the great pumpkin carve artists start to work on their masterpieces tonight from 5:00 until 9:00 at the historical society. more than 70 carvers are there to turn these pumpkins in works of art. they will be on dispay through the weekend and are expected to draw pretty big crowds, if you want to stop by with the family there will be hayrides and food vendors and live music. another halloween tradition continues here on 6 abc. get the family together for the peanuts classic. the great pumpkin charlie brown

fearing tensions of something posted online would boil over once again. vernon odom is live outside of the school to explain what started all of this -- >> reporter: sharrie, there was a lot of tension here at the school today but the interesting thing is, no one here is trying to play ostrich and bury their head in the sand. they are trying to face this issue head-on. this hallway scuffle in washington township high was an outbreak of racial tension that is triggered by a barrage of racial photos by the football team and the school superintendant is trying to contain it and suspended a number of students for fighting and the anti-black postings. >> it incited kids and upset them and led to a disturbance that we were able to quell yesterday. we held students accountable. >> and a number of parents came

for parents and students and anyone in the community that wants to come for 7:00 tonight to discuss the racial vicer here at this mammoth high school. i'm vernon odom, channel 6 "action news." we have break news we are following here. chopper 6 hd is in fern rock the section of philadelphia where three septa commuter lines are suspended this afternoon. this following an incident at the fern rock transportation center. this happened at 3:30 this afternoon, police say that someone was hit by a commuter train and that is what is causing the suspense of these three lines, the service on the landsdale doylestown line and warminster line and the west trenton regional line all suspended north of the fern rock transportation center here. not a lot of movement happening in this live picture as the

three commuter lines are suspended. a person struck by a train and no word on the person's condition. well, we now know that people are hurt when flames ripped through a row home this morning. it sparked on the 4900 block of curshaw street before 5:00 a.m. the blaze was contained and two people had to be taken to the hospital and both are expected to be okay. and the cause is under investigation. delaware state police released a video of a woman accused of stealing a car with a child inside of a car in claymont. it shows the woman who jumped inside of the woman's car outside of a wawa. the woman left the keys and 6-year-old son in the car as she ran into the store and the child was able to escape. and police are still looking for the thief and the vehicle. it's a silver 2008 hyundai

sonata. meanwhile, philadelphia have identified a teenager gunned down in west oak lane last night. 17-year-old antoine coleman, was killed by gunshot to the head and chest when someone opened fire on the 6700 block of north 15th street. and police are looking for the gunman as well as the motive here. a 19-year-old man is now charged in a vicious attack against a woman in delaware county. cameron johnson is hailed on $1.5 million bail after the arrest are and arraignment yesterday. police say he was armed with a shotgun when he allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a woman in her 60s last friday. the victim was confronted as she walked to a septa bus stop in chester. we are in the 70s total sunshine out there and a picture of fall perfection today. >> we like it. will there be more of it?

and cecily tynan here with us tracking it. >> temperatures are rising into the weekend. so enjoy. today is really a gorgeous day and loads of sunshine and temperatures above average, the average high for this time of year is 66 and philadelphia right now 71 degrees and most areas in the low 70s and with that mild weather we also have plenty of sunshine. we have a live shot we can show you over looking reading from the pagoda and blue skies and bright sunshine there, and a little bit on the breezy side especially in the higher elevations, winds from the the southwest 6 to 14 miles per hour. and that southwesterly flow is what is bringing in that mild air. and temperatures will be climbing as we head toward the weekend. so there is that shot in reading again. taking a look at the pagoda now and temperatures rising up into the mid-70s and early next week i'm tracking rain followed by a major pattern change.

this explosion in portland, oregon as people were leaving work last night. high winds fanned the flames destroying another food cart and damaging ten nearby cars and it was so intense people in a nearby office building said they could feel the heat 10 floors up. for the second year in a row returns that participated in the pnc marathon did not run a marathon. last year it was measured too long but at least a half mile. this year the marathon fell short. during sunday's race, runners with gps trackers noticed that the mile markers were appearing too soon and investigation found that the 26.2 mile race was 4200 feet short. runners that planned to use this rate to qualify for the boston marathon were sorely disappointed. >> there was no 22 mile marker and i looked at my watch and it

cus as a result of this. and the moms are disheartened by this, and called the shoot innocent and fun and cute. and there are few worse places than the online comment section. avoid them at all costs. >> turning now to california. where a small restaurant is being accused of taking local sources to a new low. for the last four years kimberly sanchez is searching up lunch at sweet dixie kitchen. one of the most popular items is the chicken and waffles, and now it's one of the most controversial. this after a customer posted a negative review on yelp saying he watched sanchez bring two boxes from popeyes down the street into the kitchen. when asked about it an employee admitted that the chicken and the $15 chicken and waffle dish is from the fast food place and they say they are proud of serving popeyes. >> i love popeyes chicken.

northbound from fern rock and we'll keep you posted as soon as the lines are back in service. on the pennsylvania turnpike the news has gotten better. the crash eastbound from norristown to fort washington is now on the shoulder and the bad news is we have not completely recovered. with speeds like 4 miles per hour. coming east of fort washington, coming east of valley forge toward fort washington. and it is quite slow still with delays spilling back on the northbound side of the blue route. and in delco two separate accident around route 1 has cleared as well a broken down vehicle at 420, and a crash along 95 northbound by the betsy ross bridge taking out the right lane in the spot that is normally heavy. coming out of 95 northbound. norrisville a crash at bridge street and pennsylvania avenue. and in hammonton an accident and downed traffic signal by the
