1:00 this morning, the officer was rush to aria torresdale to be treated for a broken leg. new information about the shooting of a 3-year-old boy inside of his north philadelphia home. police said the boy's father would endangering the welfare of a child. police say the gun belongs to the father's brother who lives in home. six your brother somehow got hold of the gun and fired. only other person inside the house was the boy's 12 your brother, neighbors they the children are good kids. >> to come home and hear about this is disturbing and i hope and pray that, you know, they will be all right. remains in critical condition with a gunshot injury to the forehead search for two gunmen who fired shots on a crowded believable court injuring four people. police believe the suspects

a freight train derailed sending trains into cars at least in two buildings, it happened in knoxville overnight. they said some of the cars were carrying shipping containers, they also say no hazard materials were involved and nobody was hurt. police in tampa florida hoping surveillance video will help

them track down a killer. the man shot and killed three people in the past two weeks. the father of the latest victim anthony nayboie is overcome with grief. the young man was shot and killed on a sidewalk while walking home from work. >> waiting and waiting for your child to come home and they don't get home. >> two other violation were shot while walking alone in the neighborhood investigators have release surveillance video showing a possible witness walking near the first shooting. police say there's no apparent motive for killings but they have and they are convinced that one person is responsible for this. captured video of one of at least three tornados that form in oklahoma last night. damage add number of homes and buildings including a casino where the beach boys were performing. the governor who was attending the concert said the show was evacuated at least twice.

lost control of his motorcycle as he was leaving the protest. it happened in the city's mayfair section. that happened about 1:00 in the morning, the officer returned was taken and rushed to torresdale hospital to be treated. we now know the details following a toddler that was shot in the head. he was shot in the head bay his father. police investigating. trish hartman with the latest. >> when i heard about it. i just broke down. >> reporter: people in tioga nicetown were shocked to learn that a 3-year-old had been shot in the head and rushed to the hospital. >> i'm feeling destroyed inside because we have to be more protective about children and things that we get involved with. >> reporter: police say it happened after 3:00 p.m. in the 3600 block of north 18th street. police say the victim's 6-year-old brother somehow got ahold of a gun and shot the 3-year-old in the forehead in the second floor bedroom. investigators say they believe a

degrees and just in case you were wondering, this started during the month of september, where we got into this warm pattern with high pressure sitting over us, temperatures ten to 15 degrees above seasonal as of, just in case you were wondering as of today, this is the warmest october ever for the city of philadelphia and we're a good two degrees warmer than the next up, which was back in 2007. that was 64.5, we're at 66.5. things will cool down from tuesday on right through halloween. with the cooler air moving in, we still should manage at least second or third warmest october ever for philadelphia, 70, look at these numbers, pottstown 71, coatesville, new holland, 73, 70 in center city, media 70, warminster 72, newtown, 71 and across south jersey and delaware, lots of low to mid 70's, smyrna 72, cinnaminson 72, tuckahoe 72, hammonton 71 and browns mills also 71 degrees. now, across the country, we go,

we do have cooler air out there but it's having a difficult time traveling east and this has been the setup over last three to five weeks, where we see this trough or pocket of cold air out west and then we have ridge or south westerly winds, and that's the same pattern we're seeing now, some cooler air will slide east once we get to wednesday but it will be short lived. it will pull back into canada by the time we get into a day past halloween. halloween might be chilly as soon as we get into november, we start to see this mild pattern take over again. just proof that there's cooler air out there have not we do have windchills to talk about north in the front range where it's 46 with the wind and rapid city 45. 20's and 30's out here across the higher elevations and the rocky, everybody else nice and spring like with temperatures in the 40's and 50's. satellite 6 along with action radar, we do have a formal system, lots of clouds and a couple of showers, handy even

thunderstorms across the gulf coast states. we're seeing heavy drenching downpours north and west of new orleans, lots of clouds lightening strikes through here pushing off to the southeast about 20 miles per hour, what will happen, an low pressure system will develop right around louisiana, and it will lift north right up the spine of the appalacians and that low is what we'll bring the wet weather to the area as we get into tuesday afternoon. so your surface maps look like this for the remainor of the day mostly sunny skies with a few high clouds, warm day, very, very comfortable. about 76 or 77. then from monday, the frontal system inches closer but still far enough to the west where we should stay dry with the rain hanging out across the southeastern part of the united states. it's monday night after midnight and then through the day tuesday, that's when we see our wet weather here. future tracker 6, 5:30 this afternoon, it's mostly sunny maybe a few high thin clouds that's about it. no big deal. overnight tonight, we cloud up. a couple of spritz or sprinkles are possible through the late morning hours monday, otherwise,

winds up to 40, 45 miles per hour, and maybe rainfall totals between one and two inches, it's nice out there right now. but those conditions will deteriorate as we get into monday and tuesday. 70 degrees is the current temperature reading in philadelphia. and it's the middle of october. unbelievable to still see the 70's like, due point 54, there's no humidity out there. winds are calm, pressure is way up there, 30.41 inches. holding steady and the visibility is perfect. it's sitting at ten miles. as we take a look across the region, remember, we were having visibility issues first thing this morning when i drove into work, it was a nightmare. the fog was dense across south jersey. everything is cleared out nicely now. and with all the sunshine and numbers are responding we're sitting at 70 in philadelphia. trenton 70, millville 72, dover also sitting at 72 degrees. this is the only system that we're watching, actually for the entire week, right now, pushing across southeastern texas and louisiana to the northwest of luis louisiana from chicago and greenbay all the way down in a

straight line, through memphis and most of arkansas, you can clearly see the sudden eruption here, thunderstorm activity, all the green starting to fizzle out now, but now that we're getting into the heat, all of this will start to pop and some storms will lift to the north over the next 48 hour, speaking of storms lighting up like a christmas tree, look at the crowd to ground lightening strikes, this is taken in 15 minute increments and at some point, big cluster moving into mobile alabama, more showers and thunderstorms pushing off the coast working their way through the gulf of mexico, again, this is the next system we're watching almost like a conveyor belt of moisture this moisture will lift to the north, through the tennessee and the ohio valleys pushing through cleveland, and trenton by 10:00 monday, here we are in philadelphia, everything is quiet. and as we push along through night monday night into tuesday, that's when some of this starts to move on in. some will come down at a pretty good clip. drenching downpours again and as i'm earlier, some locations

scheduled 2:00 to -- excuse me, from 12:00 to 2:00. the umbrella group on the facebook face updated its time from 2:00 to 4:00 this afternoon. it's the same organization that organized the protest yesterday. that began here outside the international association of chiefs of police's then took off through parts of center city, there was a minor scuffle apparently at one point about 2:45 in the afternoon, four people cite ford disorderly conduct. three people reported to have minor injuries, that group is going to be active today it says on its social media between 2:00 and 4:00 this afternoon, that is the update. it was to be between noon and 2:00 now been pushed back from 2:00 to 4:00. live in center city, john rollins be channel 6 action news. thank you, meteorologist chris sowers with another look at the beautiful forecast. >> it's hard to believe that it's the middle of october.
