. chester police still trying to track down people who opened fire on a basketball court leaving four young people injured. amazingly nonsuffered life-threatening injuries. gunfire came from the street above the court. at least two dozen people were on the basketball court at the time. a second day of protest outside a law enforcement convention in center city yesterday. two officers were injured during demonstrations and overnight, additional protests took place. action news reporter john rollins has the latest from center city. >> today's protests billed as not a rally but a teach in organized by philly for real justice, the message, the police are part of a racist repressive system and must be abolished >> the police are rot in >> participants were told not to talk to local tv crews. >> set up a construe our message. we're here for police abolition. >> gathering again at 12th and arch outside the convention of

international chiefs of police, yesterday one ap at any timed man focused his remarks at african-american officers. >> me personally cannot sleep at night. you're the reason me as a black man cannot respect you. >> reporter: the protesters took to the streets mere the msb, there was a physical clash, two officers and one protester were injured. four protesters were issued citations for disorderly conduct. two were arrested for assaulting police. overnight, the two arrested were processed to 15th police department in mayfair, a line of officers stood in front as protesters shouted at them from across the street. those attending the four-day iacp meeting say a major topic inside, the proper way to handle street protesters >> had to do with large crowd control, major incidents throughout the nation, particularly as it pertains to the first amendment >> the protesters have not said if they will return but it would

seem likely as u.s. attorney general jeff sessions will return to philadelphia monday to speak to to the conventionally general assembly. john rollins, channel 6 action news. a police officer from philadelphia working the protest was injured early this morning. the officer was on his way home when he lost control of his motorcycle as he turned on to roosevelt boulevard in the city's mayfair section. the officer suffered a broken leg from the delaware newsroom, two pedestrians were struck and killed last night in dewey beach. investigators say the driver who hit them suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his vehicle. the accident happened around 5:00 p.m. on coastal highway nearsals bury street. >> investigators say the driver was behind the wheel of a chevy when he blacked out. he careened into two men. the men, ages 53 and 58 were both from the washington, dc area. the driver of that vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment. important event is taking place at this hour in camden

county. designed to help people battling cancer's it's called a night of wigs and wishes and self celebrity are on hand to help support the patients and families. trish hartman is there and joins us live with more's trish? >> reporter: hi there, walter. this event got underway within the past hour lucien's minor. almost 100 expected. let's take you inside, this gala raises money for an organization called friends are by your side which gives wigs to children and women battling cancer. that charity and this event was founded by celebrity hairstylist. martino cartier. it's hosted by paula abdul and other celebrities. two queens of the night. women battling cancer will

receive make overs tonight including a professionally styled wig. we spoke with one of those women as she was getting ready. she is battling breast cancer. >> this is wonderful. this is absolutely wonderful. i feel great. i do. i feel very honored to be here. i don't feel deserving but it's an honor to be here. >> reporter: in the past organizers say this event raise more than $300,000 to help cancer patients and grant appear wishes in past year, 22,000 wigs have been given away in part because of the proceeds, paula abdul will be performing, everyone is looking forward to a night of fun, this continues until 11:00. live in berlin new jersey, trish hartman, channel 6 action news. sounds like it will be a great night. thanks, trish former action news anchor lisa thomas lori is launching a new career, these an author, her memoir is titled on camera and off when the news is good and when it's not. play on words refers to her

a somber ceremony. 241 americans were killed during the 1983 bar ricks bombing in with renew lebanon, nine monitors were killed were from philadelphia. a plaque reads if you forget may death, i died in vein. >> getting an update on two girls successfully separated after they were conjoined at birth. children's hospital of philadelphia released videos of erin and abby delaney, they had surgery back in june and recently celebrated first birthday, the girls who are now 15 months old were born joined at the top of their heads successfully separated by a 30-member team an risky 12-hour surgery. the parents say it's miraculous to see their daughters hitting

milestones such as rolling over and crawling. >> they're such happy be content little girls for what they've gone through, they never lived outside hospital walls. and they're still happy, they're not afraid of people. it's just amazing to see that they're so brave through all of this. >> the twins will need additional plastic and reconstructive surgery over the next few years, but should go home to north carolina for the first time as soon as next month. >> good news, indeed. people in blackwood gloucester county hit the pavement for a great cause this morning, these folks from south jersey put on their walking shoes and raised nearly half million along the way for the fight against juvenile diabetes. and our very own karen rogers emceed the event. the money will be used to support juvenile diabetes research projects. hundreds of children did a hill old school trick or treating this afternoon in pens bumper remanner in bucks county. all while getting a little help

and food >> it was gorgeous weekend for any kind of picking. apple picking, costume picking >> costume picking for halloween. we had really nice conditions and temperatures once again well above average. we'll show you the picture, the action cam outside earlier looking up there at independence hall and you can see we had plenty of sun, few more high and mid level clouds across the area this afternoon. here's a live shot down the shore in cape may. sky 6 is live. a lot of folks enjoying what's left of their beach day, earlier at the beach, temperatures were in the lower 70's. upper 60's. we'll talk about the weather headlines, mild tomorrow but a few more clouds will work their way into the delaware and lehigh valleys, rain arrives on tuesday, and cooler temperatures in the wake of that cold front as we get into the heart this week. our high today in philadelphia, still above average, we came in at 76 today. of right now, at 70 in the city. same thing for allentown, the lehigh valley, the upper 60's for lancaster and reading, down in beach haven 66 and in dover,

we're also in the upper 60's. we'll show you the month of october so far because it has been a very warm one with temperatures well above average if you look at the boxes here, the red shaded boxes, those are the number of days where temperatures have been above average. in fact, the month, is a good 7.2 degrees above where it should be this time of year and stays mild tomorrow few more clouds work their way into our area, here's satellite 6. high pressure has been dominating much of the weekend. that's why it was temperature with temperatures above average. this ridge of high pressure moves off the coast making way for the cold front across the great lakes and portions of the midwest. heads into the ohio valley tomorrow, hits our area as we get into tuesday. but for the rest of tonight, no issues, it's partly cloudy, it's comfortable. 54 and reading for the overnight low, 60 in philadelphia. down in dover, 58, drop down to 63 at the boardwalk. for the day tomorrow, it's a mostly cloudy day, limited sunshine. especially by the afternoon.

but temperatures for the most part will be in the lower 70's by day's end. it is cloudy, mild, it's still above average, and all eyes will be at the linc where our attention will be tomorrow as the eagles are taking on the redskins in a prime time match-up of monday night football. mostly cloudy very mild, first quarter, temperature 69 and as we get to the fourth, drop down to 66. so let's time out this precipitation for you. future tracker 6 showing you monday morning, 6:30, areas of fog will be around in a mostly cloudy start to the day. clouds quickly move in as we get into the afternoon hours, maybe a stray shower is likely. although i believe most spots should be dry and then we track that cold front from a west east direction as we get into tuesday morning, you can see showers and a gusty thunderstorm is likely and looks like this moisture wants to linger across the coastal communities until we get into tuesday evening. so we'll keep you posted. rain heavy at times on tuesday.
