the officers who routinely perform stunts on motorcycle somehow crashed three had to be rushed to the hospital. sunday night and the big story on action news is the investigation in the accident that left those officers injured. >> happened this evening on 12 and market streets as the unit was performing a show before hundreds of people action news reporter annie is live at honaman hospital with more. >> reporter: walter and sarah good news tonight all three of those police officers that did go to honaman hospital have been treated and released. now they tell us that they are expected to make a full recovery. they are okay, they suffered minor injuries but it was a big scare in front of a crowd that included hundreds of police officers visiting for a conference. philadelphia police arriving to honaman hospital today to show support for three of their own this is a picture captured by the police chief after a highway patrol drill team performance went array on sunday afternoon

and three officers were rushed to the hospital. >> precision motorcycle riding at that point you have to stop and make sure everybody is okay but then they went back out and performed some specialty stunts. >> reporter: the philadelphia police department's highway patrols drill team is known for daring performances like the annual hero thrill ride today at 12 and market they were wowing hundreds of spectators including police officers from across the world attending the international association of chiefs of police conference. police commissioner richard ross was in the crowd. >> i was watching. >> reporter: what went through your mind? . >> your first reaction is you are concerned about their well-being and so fortunately everybody rallies around them and makes sure they are okay but these are tough folks. >> reporter: the officers released tonight were greeted by their brothers and sisters in blue the commissioner says the officers injured wanted to get back up on their bike and perform right away. >> they do a fabulous job for us, we can't say enough about them and for me i want them to

know that and so it's important that they don't hear anything else i'm proud of them and what they do not only out here on the show but what they do for the citizens of philadelphia each and everyday. >> reporter: and philadelphia police have not released the names of those officers but did tell us tonight it included 28 year veteran a 20 year veteran and a 12 year veteran all three treated and leased from the hospital live in center city annie mccormick channel six action news back to you. >> glad to hear they are okay second day of protests outside the law enforcement convention in center city yesterday two officers were injured during demonstrations and overnight additional protests took place and action news reporter john rawlins has more. >> reporter: today's protest is not a rally but a teach in organized for the second day by philly for real justice the message the police are part of a racist repressive system and must be abolished. >> the police are rotten.
