search for 16-year-old brandon a vary -- olivieri. >> more on today's developments in the case. trish. >> reporter: rick, police have released the name of their person of interest brandon olivieri. police say someone posted a photo of olivieri on social media saying he was headed here to this area to the area of roman catholic high school and that he could be a threat to the students. the line of parents wrapped around the corner as moms and dads waited to pick up their kids from roman catholic high school. >> all i know is that when i went to my fifth period everybody just started leaving and we were on lockdown. >> i did get an e-mail saying the school was on lockdown to pick your kid up after school, to not let them take the train home and stuff. >> reporter: but many parents came right away. >> were you worried at all. >> yes, definitely. i just wanted to get out of

school pretty much. >> reporter: a statement from the archdiocese of philadelphia said roman was placed on lockdown because of "general threats against the safety of the school community on social media." this all ties back to the murder of two teens in south philadelphia on tuesday evening. sal dinubile and caleer miller both 16 were shot and killed at the intersection of south 12th and ritner. philadelphia police say they are looking for a person of interest in the killings, 16-year-old brandon olivieri. early this morning police say at least eight bullets were fired into olivieri's home on the 1600 block of south juniper street. no one was hurt but neighbors and olivieri's parents were left shaken. then according to police, someone posted a photo of olivieri on social media saying he was headed to the area of roman catholic high school and posed a threat. the school was placed on lockdown around 11:30 a.m. police say they investigated and found the threat to be unfounded. still, parents found it

unsettling. >> you're always concerned. >> the school did the right thing. they let the parents know locked the school down in a timely manner. >> reporter: now the archdiocese also says it placed hallahan on lockdown for a brief time earlier today but the lockdown was lifted and classes continued as schedule. philadelphia police do not believe any of the students were in any danger today because of these threats. police also say this is an active investigation. if you have any information on the whereabouts of brandon olivieri you're asked to contact police. we're live in spring garden, trish hartman channel6 "action news." rick. >> trish, thank you. police are trying to figure out what caused a crash involving a school bus here in southwest philadelphia. there were no students on the bus when it collided with a truck and a car. it happened at 6:30 this morning near the intersection of 61st street and passyunk avenue. police say the 52-year-old bus driver and a 55-year-old woman in the car were both taken to area hospitals. they are expected to survive their injuries.

>> after being held up for months, state funding is finally on its way to penn state temple and three other state universities. governor tom wolf signed bills today that direct $650 million to those institutions. the money was held up amid pennsylvania's budget crisis. the governor has not said yet what he'll do with other pieces of the budget puzzle that were approved by lawmakers this week including a massive gambling expansion bill. >> well, sunday marks the five year anniversary of super storm sandy which slammed into new jersey and caused $29 billion in damage. remember that rollercoaster that washed into the atlantic? it was one of the iconic pictures from the storm. the casino pier where it sat has been replaced and new rides installed. just north in ortley beach which was considered ground zero for the storm, a beach replenishment project shored up the coastline. 365,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed. 70-year-old linda roberts of seaside park just recently moved back into her home after

substenance. you can see this cold front. it doesn't have a a lot of moisture right now, however that front is going to be tapping into tropical moisture that's gathering in the caribbean and this is going to bring us heavy rain for sunday and also some very high winds. so, this is breaking down how it progresses. future tracker showing tomorrow afternoon that front is still to the west. that moisture just beginning to move into florida. we have a dry day tomorrow. temperatures around 70, increasing high clouds late in the day but then as we head into sunday, that rain moves especially heavy sunday afternoon and sunday night and that's also when the wind will be picking up. so, this is what to expect. about one to 3 inches of rain, isolated areas could get up to 4-inches, heaviest in the afternoon and evening on sunday, localized flooding, those wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour could even cause some isolated power outages. i'll talk more about that and

how have the halloween forecast coming up later. monica. >> sounds good. thank you cecily. the maryland granite company where three workers were shot and killed last week has now reopened. officials say 37-year-old radee prince opened fire at advanced granite solutions his place of work last wednesday. prince then allegedly drove to wilmington and shot an acquaintance at a car dealership. prince remains behind bars tonight in delaware. >> secretary of defense james mattis is in south korea tonight promising america's allegiance this as concerns over north korea's nuclear program continue to grow. mattis visited the dmz amid rising tensions between north korea and the u.s. kim jong un has used missile tests and alleged hydrogen bomb tests to put the u.s. on edge. according to mattis, the u.s. does not want any aggressions to happen. >> our goal is not war but, rather, the complete

verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the korean peninsula. mattis is visiting south korea ahead of president trump who heads to asia next month. the white house is calling the visit a good faith effort. >> first harvey weinstein now another behind the scenes a-lister has been accused of sexual harassment reportedly by hundreds of women. abc's marci gonzalez live in los angeles with details tonight. >> reporter: monica, allegations of sexual harassment and assault have spread from the entertainment industry to corporate america journalism and politics and that latest accusations against the hollywood director you mentioned are being detailed in a new disturbing vanity fair article. the list of women accusing movie director james toback growing. nearly 300 coming forward including actresses rachel mcadams and selma blair, blare telling vanity fair during an audition for the movie harvard man toback sexually assaulted her and

left her terrified to speak up reportedly saying there is a girl who won against me. toback has not responded to abc's request for comment though the 78-year-old told the l.a. times his accusers claims were biologically impossible due to medical conditions. the star's accounts just some of the latest from women across the country, the movement to share stories of assault and harassment following reports of years of alleged sexual misconduct by hollywood producer harvey weinstein. he is now suing the studio he co-founded for access to his records as he mounts his legal defense. while today one of his first accusers rose mcgowan made her first public appearance since coming forward accusing him of rape which he denied. >> name it, shame it, call it out, join me, join all of us as we amplify each other's voices. >> reporter: many are. even beyond hollywood. congresswoman jackie spear posting what she calls her own me too story on twitter. >> i was working as a

there's a crash here on the roosevelt boulevard extension southbound side right where it meets up with the schuylkill right behind the fence here taking out the left lane. penndot is on the scene. here's a different vantage point of that southbound boulevard accident and it is causing plenty of slowing. as you come southbound from broad street through this point approaching the schuylkill. northbound is also locked up but that is just normal afternoon volume over there. also have another crash on another chunk of route one, city avenue right by the overbrook train station and we have one earlier this afternoon on the northeast extension of the turnpike, northbound approaching quakertown, that's now off to the side so luckily speeds are starting to increase at least a little bit coming north of lansdale. on the east-west turnpike it's closing overnight in bucks county tonight and tomorrow night. if you're out and about i would use 95 or route one instead. and in delaware there's a southbound accident on 95 past 202 the concorde pike slowing there in both directions because northbound they have the construction at talley road. we'll check it again, rick and monica, coming up in the next half hour. >> see you then. >> thank you. much more ahead on "action

over the ben franklin bridge and we have blue skies and sunshine. high pressure in control of our weather so no clouds. and tomorrow that high pressure for the most part will still be controlling our weather so that means a good amount of sunshine early in the day. high thin clouds drifting in in the afternoon. the high, relatively warm for late october of 70 degrees. sunday, though, is when we get some tropical moisture pulled in by a cold front and that means rain, heavy at times. it will also get very windy, temperatures dropping down into the 60's. and that sets the stage for a really nice halloween. look at that. doing the running man. got a dancing frankenstein. he dances -- [laughter] >> oh, boy. our weather is going to be great. clear and cool, winds out of the northwest at 10 miles an hour. he's got a lot of energy. temperature at 6 o'clock 56. 9 o'clock 50 degrees . >> [laughter] >> have to dance with him. let's talk about the weather right now.

i'm out of breath now. it's friday its beautiful, 63 degrees in philadelphia. allentown the same. cape may 64. reading 63. and the poconos 54 degrees. satellite and radar showing high pressure again carving out this slice of nice over us. if you look to the west, though, you can see that cold front. that front links in with some tropical moisture. that brings us the heavy rain on sunday. so, timing it out, future tracker showing in the morning we will have some showers around. nothing all that heavy before lunchtime. however, as we head into the afternoon, bad timing for the eagles. this is when the heavy rain moves in by 3 o'clock, some heavy downpours, generally south of philadelphia, continuing into sunday night and even monday morning some leftover showers and this is when the winds will really kick up. future tracker showing as we head through the wee hours of the morning on monday, winds 45 to close to 50 miles per hour and that continues mid morning monday around 9 o'clock, look at that, 50 miles an hour winds in philadelphia, could be even higher along the shore as that

>> ♪ >> hello again. here's what's happening on "action news" friday night. just a day after president trump declared a national emergency, attorney general jeff sessions follows through with the first steps of battling the opioid epidemic. we're now hearing from the father of two children

murdered last week in delaware. why he believed his fiancé the mother of one of the victims may have committed the crime. and the lights will soon look a lot brighter in one shore city and it's going to take taxpayers and the city's budget a good chunk of change. we'll explain coming up. >> first we begin with breaking news. "action news" has just learned that the young man who lives in this home in the 1600 block of south juniper street, 16-year-old brandon olivieri is now wanted for the murder of teens salvatore dinubile and caleer miller. the victims were shot tuesday at 12th and ritner. we now know homicide detectives have just signed a warrant for olivieri's arrest. we will continue to follow this story for you and bring you updates just as soon as we get them. meantime there is a photo of the two victims from that shooting. also we are in the fight against opioid abuse and it continues today with attorney general jeff sessions weighing in. he's encouraging folks to turn in their prescription drugs. with president trump's designation of opioids as a

public health emergency folks are now asking is it enough to reverse the tide? abc's lana zak live in washington with more. lana. >> reporter: good evening, to you, monica. there is one thing that republicans and democrats seem to be in agreement about and that's the severity of the opioid crisis which claims the lives of about 100 americans every single day. but what they fundamentally don't seem to agree about is how it should best be combated and how much funding needs to be associated. it's national prescription drug takeback day when people can turn pills and other drugs in with no questions asked. in past years more than 8 million pounds of pills have been collected on these days and attorney general jeff sessions was there to promote it. >> there is hope. i agree with the president. i'm convinced this is a winnable war. >> reporter: president trump's public health emergency declaration charges federal agencies with fighting back against the crisis that kills tens of thousands of americans every year. but it falls short of his earlier promises to make the

opioid crisis a national emergency which would have immediately brought into funds to the fight. today across the country people like rob grant who runs an opioid recovery center are responding to the administration's decision. >> it is a national emergency and i think it should be treated as a national emergency but the reality of it is in understanding politics, you know, we'll take that as a great step, a good incremental step. >> reporter: grant has lived on the front lines of this crisis in 20 years. in 2011 he lost his son robby to an overdose. >> if we were to have some type of country attack us and kill 60,000 americans or a terrorist attack that killed 60,000 americans we would print money to combat that. >> reporter: and at the white house press briefing today sara sanders said she was in defense of the white house and that they were going to continue to try and receive additional allocations of funding from congress. she also pointed out that the president's healthcare plan which failed would have allocated $45 billion to the

fight. reporting live from washington, lana sack, channel6 "action news." back to you, monica. >> thank you lana. now to those top-secret j.f.k. files. the national archives has released more than 3,000 previously classified or redacted documents related to the assassination of president kennedy. it was back on november 22nd 1963 when the 35th president sat as an open target for assassin lee harvey oswald. one memo from 1964 says investigators looked into claims that oswald was an fbi informant. they determined he was not. another memo cites a 1975 deposition of former cia director richard hems. he was asked about charges the cia was involved. that document then cuts off. the document also could hold clues to another big question, did oswald act alone. >> i would like to think that these documents would be a

final answer. realistically that's never going to happen. >> well, two days after he killed j.f.k. oswald himself was gunned down in police custody. the sequence of events of course fueled more intrigue and doubt. that same day fbi director j. edgar hoover dictated a memo insisting doubt be put to rest. he said he wanted "something issued so that we can convince the public that as wold is the real assassin." >> spanish prime minister says his government is firing the catalonia's regional government dissolving its parliament and calling for a new regional election on december 21st. this in the wake of catalonia's government declaring independence from spain following a secret ballot vote earlier today. spain's prime minister is also firing the head of the regional police shutting down catalonia's foreign affairs department and dismissing its delegates in brussells and madrid. thousands have been

torres was found unresponsive. the toddler died the next day. tomlin pleaded no contest to manslaughter over the summer. she faced up to 25 years in prison. also from our delaware news room a mother and her adult son are facing charges in a drug scheme at the sussex correctional institution. that is where 35-year-old marco marin is an inmate. police say earlier this month his mom donna milam mailed an illegal substance to him. >> the father of the two children murdered last week allegedly by his fiancée is speaking out to and night about his devastating loss and the circumstances surrounding it. victor appel says he was behind bars on immigration related issues back on october 16th and that's when police says his fiancé kula

pal lima killed his son. >> it's only when i was taken away from the situation from my family's situation that's when just like i suspected she was -- it was too much for her to handle. >> a preliminary hearing is set for october 31st. >> police in atlantic county say a car hit two people trying to push a disabled vehicle off the road killing one of them. it happened along pomona road in galloway township. investigators say brandon poleki kenneth shivelet. no charges have been filed. police say that could change as their investigation continues. princeton police are looking for this man in connection to a bank robbery. investigators say he walked

into the santander bank on nassau street and handed the teller a note demanding money. it happened about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. the man left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. if you recognize him, please call police. >> well, things will soon be looking brighter in atlantic city so to speak. ac is getting new street lights. the city is replacing more than 5600 lights with energy efficient led bulbs. the work is expected to start sometime late next month. atlantic city currently spends about $2 million a year on street lighting. but the new lights are expected to save an undetermined amount on electrical costs. a piece of steel is now a very special part of the new trenton central high school. the building has been under construction for two years now. students and school officials gathered outside the school today to sign one of the beams being used in the construction.

>> terrific. time right now for a check of that "action news" traffic report. >> let's see if matt pelman has something to beam about as far as the commute home. >> definitely not beaming with joy that's for sure rick and monica. traveling southbound on the roosevelt boulevard i don't think i would if i were you this evening. the extension is all jammed up because of this crash. still here approach and the schuylkill southbound taking out the left lane and for a bit we had emergency crews on the scene so they had o two lanes blocked. the jam is colossal coming southbound from third street on down to this accident scene approaching 76. you want to think alternates like hunting park avenue even lincoln drive. southbound boulevard extension is not the place to be this afternoon with speeds like just 8 miles per hour. on another chunk of route one, city avenue, still have that crash close to the overbrook train station. if you're getting on 30 lancaster avenue heading out toward radnor we had a nasty crash right there by old eagle school road by braxton's animal works involving two pedestrians. sounds like they're in the process of clearing that out but you might still find some emergency crews on the scene

and take a look at that forecast. if you are planning to tailgate or to go to the game, i hope you have many layers that you can even change into because it is going to be quite nasty in the afternoon. that soaking rain, winds out of the south-southeast six to 12 miles an hour. at the beginning of the game 65 degrees, pretty much the same going into the end of the game in the fourth quarter of 65 degrees but again, that rain probably won't stop from start to finish from 1:00 to probably 4, 5 o'clock in the afternoon. as we take a look at the temperatures right now 63 allentown, 62 trenton, 63 in reading. so numbers are basically the same. all areas inland, the warmest spot right now in delaware, dover coming in at 66, the coolest the poconos at 54 degrees. satellite and radar low pressure in the western great lakes near minneapolis. yes, it is snowing right now so it is a pretty sizable storm pulling down some cold air. ahead of it there is a cold front. that front is going to link with southern moisture but ahead of it we do have clear skies and that will continue

into saturday. in fact we'll be watching this tropical low down to the south and the latest from the national hurricane center, this could now become a tropical storm and part of that system could be injected into that cold front on sunday so that's why the rain could turn so heavy. in fact, high pressure off the coast for one more day tomorrow. the front will continue to move in from the south and west. as it continues to push to the east, it's perfect timing with that low near miami. again tropical in nature and part of that gets pulled up into the front and then it develops a coastal storm nearby here bringing one to 3-inches of rain on sunday. isolated 4-inches low lying and street flooding could be possible just because of how heavy it could fall in a very short amount of time and then winds gusting behind the system near 50 miles an hour sunday night, monday morning. here's timing of the rain. 11 o'clock, it's already raining very lightly. here comes some of the heavier rain right around lunchtime into the middle part of the
