6:00 a.m., saturday, october 28. gray is off, i'm alicia vitarelli. here some of the stories we're following for you on "action news." new overnight, police are looking for a gunman after a man is shot twice on a north philadelphia street. ahead more than a dozen football players at a delaware county school get sick after their friday night game. word of the first charges to be filed in the federal grand jury investigation into russian meddling into the 2016 election. meteorologist chris sowers gets a look at the weekend forecast. it's a 50/50 split. one good, one -- >> reporter: korea, one not --

yeah, one not so good. temperatures at 70 degrees or higher, it would be the 21st time this month that we hit 70 degrees or higher if we manage to reach the 70-degree mark. 43 in pottstown. it's chilly across the western suburbs. quakertown, 39. lake harmony, 39. slatington, 46. these numbers are five to ten degrees warmer than yesterday. fortescue, 60. brigantine, 60, as well. tuckahoe, 53. claymont, 50 degrees. satellite and radar, you can clearly see there's not much going on along the east coast, from richmond, virginia all the way up to you would we're expecting sunny skies this afternoon. if you look toward the left-hand side of the screen or out west, you see clouds and shades of green that's the front the rain that's pushing closer to the delaware valley.

forecast for today, warm and pleasant, sun and clouds, by afternoon, 70 degrees is the forecasted high. let's talk a little bit about sunday. this is when things go downhill quick fast and in a hurru here. this tropical low -- in a hurry here. this tropical low, if the front would sweep on through, we would have showers that would be about it. because the low is coming up the east coast we'll get into heavy rain sunday afternoon. rainfall totals one to three inches in the philadelphia area. isolated heavier amounts north ran west. when you get into the lehigh valley and the poconos, some locations could pick up to 4 inches which could lead to low-lying flooding in areas of poor drainage. sunday night, the wind pick up. tuesday we had gusts up to 60 miles per hour with that front that came through.

same thing could happen here sunday night into monday morning. when i come back we'll focus on that. i'll have more details and cooler changes around halloween in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. alicia. >> all right, chris, thank you. we'll get you to breaking news unfolding at this moment. firefighters battling a fire in the 3900 block of fairmont avenue in the city's powton section. crews were called out to the fairmont avenue around 5:40 a.m. 20 minutes ago, they found heavy flames shooting from the second and third floor of the three story home. the fire quickly started spreading to adjoining homes. firefighters and police officers are going door to door excavating the neighboring homes at this hour. so far no reported injuries. no word yet on just what sparked the fire, but again the fire still blazing in the 3900 block of fairmont avenue in the city's powton section this morning. it was a kay on the of

scene at penncrest high school in middle town township last night. football players got sick after the game against radnor. officials say a ventilation system in the locker room malfunctioned. >> upon arrival crews discovered what we suspect to be an ozone machine in the men's locker room that was creating what was an irritant to a number of football players that played their game symptoms are watery eyes and coughing and mucous, as the kids get fresh air, everything is clearing up. they will be in good shape. >> some of the players were taken to the hospital for treatment. the rest were treated in the school parking lot. their injuries were not considered to be serious. a 20-year-old man is in critical an after a shooting in north philadelphia. he was shot twice in the torso along the 2900 block of north

marshall street around 2:30 a.m. so far no one has been arrested and police have not given any details about what may have sparked the shooting. a 16-year-old suspect wanted for allegedly killing two other teens is in police custody. 16-year-old brandon oliveri surrendered to police last night. he awaits ray -- arraignment on murder charges. >> reporter: escorted by an attorney and two friends brandon oliveri hid his face. in what maybe his last moments of freedom he hugged his friends before he faces double murder charges. earlier in the day, philadelphia police named him a person of interest in the shooting deaths of two 16-year-olds tuesday

night. in what may have retaliation someone fired shots into the home of his parents. there was a lockdown at roman catholic high school. parents picked up their children early saying -- after a post said he was heading to the high school. the shooting deaths of caleer miller and salvadore dinubile. neighbors claimed there was an argument before gunfire, but police have not released a motive. meanwhile, neighbors are relieved that an arrest has been made. but distraught that violence has destroyed three families. >> it's sad that this young kid's life is ruined. and the fact that he ruined two other lives. >> it's horrible. it's got to stop, they have to talk and no more guns. >> reporter: salvadore dinubile's funeral will takes place later this morning.

jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> a federal grand jury has approved the first charges in connection with special counsel robert muller's investigation according to reporting from cnn. muller is looking into russian interference in the 2016 election and a connection to the trump campaign. a judge has ordered the charges sealed, but we don't know who they are or who was involved. someone could be taken into custody on monday. u.s. secretary of defense said threats of nuclear attacks from north korea are possible. mattis said the u.s. is doing everything possible to solve the situation diplomatically. delivering the demilitarized zone, he said u.s. will never accept a nuclear north korea. >> the goal is not war, but a

at second and pine street in head house square. all donations will go toward helping brigette foy's staff there will be live music and 50/50 and outpouring of love. today is car free which means you can walk, run and bike without worrying about traffic. cars parked in the no stopping zones along the route, 3rd and chestnut to 5th and indiana will be towed. it is the second annual car free day since pope francis visit in 2015. open streets wilmington is a pilot program that gives people the freedom of enjoying brandywine park without cars. beginning today and beginning every saturday in november, parts of north and south park drive will be closed to traffic

>> the first winter storm of the season hit minnesota this week churning up the water of lake superior. the waves were so rough and powerful they caused damage to several beaches and recreation areas had to be closed. the waves tossed around debris and dislodged benches and boards. minnesota saw its first significant snowfall. the northern part of the state got 8 inches in places. there were 100 or more car crashes across the state. meanwhile, i'm just barely

flagship floor in manhattan. the office space sharing company we work is buying the building. less than a quarter of the space will house lord ann taylor. store executives hope to attract millennials who work at we work to do shopping as they go in and out of the buildings. millennials are or track to retire with the most money in the bank. they have time on their side which allows them to compound interest. they are putting aside ten percent of their yearly income, genxers are saving 8% and boomers just 5.

some were treated by ems and some taken to the hospital late last night. officials say they believe an ozone air purifying machine in the locker room was to blame. the players had irritated eyes, they were coughing and expected to be okay. three persons were injured when a new jersey transit bus crashed in pemberton last night. the bus smashed into a utility and ran off the road in a ditch. two people were treat at the scene, one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. it was heading from philadelphia to asbury park. the person suspected of shooting and killing two teenagers in south philadelphia earlier this week is waking up behind bars this morning. 16-year-old brandon oliveri surrendered at philadelphia police headquarters last night. he is charged in the murder of salvadore dinubile and caleer miller. the teens were shot before

8:30 p.m. tuesday night in the 2300 block of south 12th street near ritner street. neighbors say they are relieved an arrest has been made. >> it's sad this young kid's life is ruined, and the fact that he ruined two other lives. oliveri has not been formally arraigned. meanwhile, a funeral service for salvadore dinubile is scheduled to takes place later this morning in south philadelphia. we have new information on the search for the suspects in a violent carjacking of a pizza delivery man. philadelphia police say they have identified those believed to be involved in the violent robbery and carjacking. police have charged this man, 22-year-old heden and three juveniles in the october 22 incident. they are facing assault, robbery and carjacking. she is the one who pistol

whipped the 56-year-old victim at the luk oil gas station is 13 years old. in delaware, new castle county, police are searching for a man wanted in two carjackings. one involved an 87-year-old man. the victim was in the driveway in claymont when the suspect jackson opponented a gun at him and order him him to drive around. the victim was dropped off at naamans road and i-95. we want to know his whereabouts, he is considered armed and dangerous. we believe he is operating in a maroon car that was taken from the victim during the incident. >> police involved -- police believe he was involved in another carjacking thursday night. children under the age of

2 1/2 were taken from a home on the 100 block of fairway drive yesterday afternoon. the five kids were taken to a. i. do you upon the -- dupont hospital to be checked out. 13 will be charged in the hazing death of timothy pizza following a night of drinking this year. the drug had thrown out the charges of aggravated assault and manslaughter two months ago. the 11 defendants were among 18 which were charged in the death of pizza. high school students in west philadelphia are learning a valuable tool. they are taking part in the unique program that teachers them how to save lives. dann cuellar has the story. >> reporter: over and over again we have covered tragedy after tragedy from traffic accidents to gun violence and how many times have we heard this.

years since super-storm sandy slammed ashore and destroyed nearly everything in its path. sandy ravaged ortley beach in ocean county. some have moved back, but for others it's been a struggle. nora muchanic explains. >> you don't know what to count on, who to count on. >> reporter: after five years living with friends and struggling with red tape. 70-year-old linda roberts moved back into her seaside park house which was damaged by sandy. >> it's amazing to walk up the steps and put a key in the door and turn it and walk into something you can be proud of. >> reporter: this sunday marks the five year anniversary of the storm that caused $29 billion in damages to new jersey. many of the 365,000 buildings that were damaged or destroyed have been rebuilt are in the process. for victims dealing with years of insurance companies and
