>> good morning, it is 7:00 a.m., on this saturday, october 28. gray is off, i'm alicia vitarelli, here some of the stories we're following for you on "action news." new overnight, police are looking for a gunman after a man is shot twice on a north philadelphia street. more than a dozen football players at a delaware county school get sick after their friday night game. word of the first charges to be filed in the federal grand jury investigation into russian meddling of the 2016 election. meteorologist chris sowers kicks us off with the first look at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. a nice looking saturday shaping up, fabulous, as you said,

chris. >> reporter: that's my word, fabulous saturday on tap for the delaware and lehigh valleys. hay rides and pumpkin patches today. tomorrow, rain gear. the seasonal high for this time of the year is 63. yesterday we topped out at 635 with a combination of sun and clouds. it's fairly mild this morning compared to where we were yesterday at this time. yesterday the numbers were in the 30s. cuts -- kutztown 46. malvern, 57. center city, 50 degrees. on the other side of the delaware river we go into south jersey, hammonton, 44. cinnaminson, 43. satellite and radar we'll see a lot of sunshine to start, but if you look toward the left-hand side of the screen that's the next system we're watching.

the clouds roll in overnight tonight. eventually some of the rain gets in here during the day on sunday. some of that will be heavy at times. the call from accuweather for the weekend. today be warm and comfortable with a high of 70. increasing high, thin clouds during the afternoon. on sunday, rain, heavy at times, it's going to be a soaker. 66 degrees, it there could flooding, as well, areas of poor drainage, low-lying areas. those are the areas we have to watch closely. national weather service issued a flood watch for lehigh valley and the poconos. through today and tomorrow and sunday night into monday morning for the possibility of two to four inches of rain up there. one to three in the immediate philadelphia area. i'll be back along in just a few minutes and have more details in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. alicia. >> all right, chris, thank you. we have an update on breaking news we've been following for you this morning. firefighters have just gotten a blaze under control in philadelphia's powton section.

flames poured from the home on 3900 block of fairmont avenue. firefighters were called at 5:40 a.m. we have learned that one resident has been taken to penn presbyterian hospital for smoke inhalation. it was a chaotic scene at penncrest high school in middletown township in delaware county last night. 13 football players got sick in the locker room following their game against radnor. several were taken to the hospital. officials say an ventilation system in the locker room malfunctioned. crews discovered what we suspect to be an ozone machine in the men's locker room creating an irritant to the a number of of the football players that played their game. the symptoms that we're seeing are watery eyes and coughing and mucous, as the kids get fresh air, everything is clearing up. so they will be in shape. >> some of the layers were taken to riddle memorial

hospital for treatment. the rest of the were treated in the school parking lot. their injuries were not serious. a 20-year-old man is in critical condition after a shoght -- shooting in north philadelphia. he was shot in the torso on north marshall street at 2:30 a.m. police have not given details on what may have sparked the shooting. 16-year-old suspect wanted for killing two other teens is in police custody. 16-year-old brandon oliveri surrendered last night. as family and friends say farewell to one of the victims. salvadore dinubile. jeff chirico has more. >> reporter: escorted by an attorney and two friends, brandon oliveri hid his face in what may have have been his last moments of freedom the 16-year-old hugged his friends before facing double murder

charges. >> there's a sense of relief they caught the person. >> reporter: earlier in the day, philadelphia police named him a person of interest in the shooting death of two 16-year-olds tuesday knight. in what may have been retaliation, someone fired shots into his parents' home on south juniper street. the hunt for the team led to an lock don at roman catholic high school. parents picked their kids up early after someone posted on social media saying he was heading to the high school. this stems from the shooting deaths of salvadore dinubile and caleer miller both 16 at shot ad killed on tuesday. meanwhile, neighbors are relieved and arrest has been made, but distraught that violence has once again destroyed three families. >> it's sad that this young kid's life is ruined, and the fact that he ruined two others

lives. >> it's horrible, it's got to stop, they have to talk and no more guns. >> reporter: salvadore dinubile's funeral will takes place later this morning. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> a federal grand jury has approved the first charges in connection with to special counsel robert muller's investigation according to reporting from cnn. muller is looking into russian interference in the 2016 election. a federal judge ordered the charges to be sealed, we don't know what they are or whose involved. somebody could be taken into custody on monday. meanwhile, the white house is distancing itself from a decision to award an lucrative contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars to a small company to restore power to puerto rico. >> reporter: white fish energy

was rescued after he was trapped under a rock in a whole for three days. rescuers airlifted the man to safety after he called 911 arena led them to -- and led them to his location. the man said he was trying to hide from a mountain lion which he thought was stalking him. he crowd into the hole, one of the rocks falls over the opening and traps the guy inside. sheriff learn he was wanted for probation violation and he had run from police. he was treated at the hospital. new dash cam video from north carolina shows officers rushing to save a dog. the pup got his head stuck in a chain link fence. he waited patiently to get his head out. the officer said the rescue was all in a day's work.

we continue to follow breaking news from the powton section of philadelphia. firefighters have a house fire under control around the 3900 block of fairmont avenue. we know it started in a vacant house where a squatter lived. when the action cam arrived on the scene at 6:00 a.m., the flames were shooting from the roof. firefighters went door to door excavating neighbors on both sides of the row home. >> i was knocking at the door, i smelled smoke. i feared something was happening at the same time. i left everything behind i ran on out the door. >> lucky to be alive. the fire spread and destroyed two other homes as well leaving four people without a place to live. that squatter is at penn presbyterian being treated for smoke inhalation. a woman lost her apartment, but came out of the tragedy with a please withing.

philadelphia firefighters managed to save her dock. she gave the pooch oxygen as firefighters knocked down the blaze north 11th street in hunting park. fire was shooting from the three story apartment buildings. the woman was placed. she is said to be okay along with the dog. a haz/mat situation led to a big response at penncrest high school in delaware county. officials tell "action news" they believe an ozone air purifying machine in the locker room is to blame. the players had irritated eyes they were couching they are expected to be okay. three people were injured when a new jersey transit bus crashed in burling the only county. chopper 6 hd was over the scene in pemberton township. the bus smashed into a utility pole and are ran off the road ia

ditch. two people were treated at the scene, one was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. the bus was heading from philadelphia to asbury park. the person suspected of shooting two teenagers in south philadelphia earlier this week is waking up behind bars. 16-year-old brandon oliveri surrendered charged in the murders of two 16-year-olds salvadore dinubile and caleer miller. the teens were shot before 8:30 p.m. tuesday night on 12th south street at hit and rir street. -- 12th street and ritner street. neighbors are relieved. >> it's sad that his life is ruined and the fact that he ruined two other lives. >> oliveri has not been formally arraigned. funeral for salvadore dinubile is scheduled to takes place

later this morning in south philadelphia. we have more on the search for the suspects in the violent carjacking of a pizza delivery man. philadelphia police have identified one of the people believed to be involved in the robbery and carjacking. police have charged this man, 22-year-old hayden and three juveniles in the incident. they are facing assault, robbery and carjacking. they say the person who pistol whipped the 56-year-old victim at the luk oil gas station is 13 years old. with -- in delaware, new ce county, a man is wanted in connection with two car jackings involving an 87-year-old man. jackson pointed a gun at him and forced him to drive around. the victim was dropped at naamans road and i-95.

jackson stole the car. >> he is considered armed and dangerous. we believe he is operating in a maroon kia. that was taken during the incident. >> jackson was involved in a carjacking in wilmington. shots were fired at the victim in that incident, but missed. police removed five children from a home in newark, delaware, after discovering they were living in squall lower. the children under -- squaller, the children under the age of 2 1/2 were taken to a. i. dupont hospital to be checked out. prosecutors have reinstated the charges against 11 members of the now shuttered penn state fraternity in the hazing death of one of its members. this stems from the death of timothy pizza following a night of drinking earlier this year.
