nicholas klees. and five argentinians here for a school reunion and a citizen from belgium. back to you. >> thank you. yesterday's attack has renewed the debate over the nation's immigration laws. on twitter president trump says that the suspect came from uzbekistan through the visa program that provides u.s. visas by lottery, it's not clear if that claim is true and he calls for tougher vetting and merit based immigration citizens. >> diversity lottery sounds nice but it's not good. it has not been good. we are against it. during a series of tweets he went out against senator chuck schumer blaming the new york democrat for the lottery system

and schumer says he was politicizing the tragedy. >> this is the man the hero officer, the police department says that 28-year-old ryan nash put an end to the terrorist rampage, officials say he demanded that he drop his weapons and when he didn't officer nash shot him in the stomach as he tried to get away and this morning, the mayor says that the city will not be moved by terror and commended the nypd's response. >> i want to commend officer ryan nash, i spoke to him earlier today. and a good, young man, five years on the force. he was very humble but what he did was extraordinary. and gave people such faith and such appreciation in our police force. >> nash, is a read of long island he was responding to a call at a high school not far from the world trade center when someone reported an accident on

like allentown close to the freezing point and millville 36 and 38 in wilmington and trenton just 2 degrees above that freezing mark. as we take a look at the winds coming in off the east off the ocean and it's warmer and philadelphia to the shore with temperatures right thousand in the 60s. which is a tad bit above average and only in the 40s in reading and allentown and much cooler thereof to the north and west. kind of removed from that wind coming off the atlantic. and off to the north and west showers, but most of the concentrated rain is missing our area into central and northern parts of pennsylvania and that will be the track and the track for them as we go into the overnight hours. in the accuweather forecast mild the next few days and going back into the 70s for highs and clouds roll in for part of the weekend and we are tracking a round of rain for next week we'll chat about all of it coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> all right looking forward to that weekend.

chopper 6 hd was in delaware county where a school bus flew off the road and crashed into the trees. state police now responding to the area on i-95 and route 420 in tinicum township. the bus company also sent a safety team to investigate why the driver lost control and we are working it find out how many people were on the bus. and a man is in critical condition after a hit and run in bensalem ex. the driver took off leaving the victim laying in the street. is happened on a busy road where neighbors say speeding is an issue. >> reporter: a lot of accident in this intersection. news of a pedestrian accident along east street road though tragic did not come as a surprise in warminster. >> i am not surprised. the traffic is kind of heavy and fast. >> i heard about an accident down the street a few months

back with someone in front of a tractor trailer. >> the latest accident was more than just that. police say that 7:45 yesterday evening, they found a hispanic male critically injured and lying in the street. and they quickly learned the 34-year-old was hit by a car traveling eastbound. and the driver hadn't pulled over to help. >> a shame he left them there. i don't know how someone could do something like that. police say that the striking car may be a newer model hyundai accent with a missing mirror or damage on the drivers side or a smashed windshield. >> keep my eyes open and i run with music so i try to stay alert as best i can. and obviously i'm paying more attention than most drivers out there. >> the victim is in critical but stable condition. warminster police are counting on surveillance video from businesses here but the cameras are simply not facing the road.

upper 50s and again it's all relative because our normals are much lower than that 59 degrees at 11:00 tonight. and then again it kicks way up here as we get into the day tomorrow. so we are beginning the month of november kind of where october left off. in fact, we take a look at the top four warmest octobers this year ranked second warm et in philadelphia's history. 2007 was the warmest 64.5 the arm temperature for the month and look at the daytime highs and nighttime lows we were below that for this year and 1971 ranked three at 36.5 degrees. satellite and radar sprinkles north and west of philadelphia and helped to keep the temperatures lower up towards the lehigh valley and most showers are well to the north of allentown and a spitting drop here or there. and again the overnight lows tonight 55 in philadelphia. and 52 wilmington and 53 in millville. and 59 in cape may. again way above the average and

it is 4:30 and "action news" continues with the latest on the deadly terrorist attack in new york city since september 11th. a 29-year-old uber driver from uzbekistan used a rented truck as a weapon of mass destruction mowing down dozens on a bike path. police were able to take down sayfullo saipov in moments, it killed people raining in age of 28 to 43 and five were friends visiting from argentina and another was a tourist from belgium and the other two were from new york city and bergan county new jersey. and he had ties to florida and

in. the woman was checking her new camera and spotted the man climbing up and appearing into the window friday night and on monday and reported it to police and today the man showed up and surrendered to officials and we are waiting to find out his identity. >> we are learning more about a young woman killed while working on a disabled vehicle last night in pennsauken. they is 24-year-old maya chambers, the philadelphia woman and a man were looking under the hood of their broken down hood at route 38 at 7:00 last night. that is when at least one other vehicle plowed into the disabled car killing chambers and critically injuring the man with her. police are trying to determine if anyone is going to be charged. an 8-year-old boy is recovering from today after he was hit by a car while trick or treating last night. this happened along coal avenue in upper township cape may county at 5:30. witnesses tell "action news"

that the child who was dressed like a unicorn had just started trick or treating when he was hit by the suv. the boy was flown to cooper university hospital and is expected to be okay. the driver has not been charged but that could change as they continue their investigation. it's the newest tool to combat the newest threat on the ongoing fight against deadly are drugs. the heroin task force unveiled the detection today. it is used to help avoidance of deadly drugs as fentanyl say lethal problem and more potent. and carfentanil is starting to show up. it has claimed victims in philadelphia. montgomery county chester county and elsewhere if pennsylvania. >> delaware county recognizes the dangers that these drugs pose to our first responders.

>> i am not allowed to buy tobacco anymore. >> a change in the law? >> since when. >> as of today. >> today? >> oh wow. as the sign says in new jersey under 21 no tobacco. >> like alcohol now. is this the only state that did it? >> the third state. california and hawaii. >> and now new jersey. >> anti-smoking advocates think that setting the smoking age at 21 thinks fewer smoking deaths in the future and fewer adidn'ted teens and adults aware of mortality and health risks are less likely to start smoking and teens will have less access to tobacco due to trickle down effect. it makes sense as two smokers that started young. >> you may know someone a year or two out of high school or just graduated. but have you to be four years removed from that to be 21.

a nurse in oklahoma is under review for allegedly trying to perform an exorcism on a jail inmate instead of giving her life saving medical help. amanda freedman died one day after suffering a seizure. the autopsy shows she died as a result of heart trouble because of meth use. the nurse called in to help f e freeman when she had a seizure. they are investigating but not yet filed charges. a florida bus driver is praised for quick thinking after narrowly avoiding a pedestrian. incredible there. watch again in the lower left corner of your screen is the person stumbles into the bus's
