ensued and the suspect pulled out the gun and shot the officer at point-blank range in the front of his thigh. and he tried to shoot the officer in the face but the gun jammed and he got the gun away and got control of the suspect and fellow officers were on the scene in seconds and one applied a tourniquet that may have saved his life. >> the trauma doctor says if not for theturnket his response would be much worse. d the suspect again just 19 years old and has three felony convictions and at least 10 arrests just since he became an adult. police believe he may have a gang affiliation. moments ago i spoke with the first officer that arrived there on the scene after the officer was shot and gives quite an account of what unfolded in

we are getting a haunting first look at the school bus that was hit during monday's terror attack in new york. it was filmed by a man walking down the street. >> oh my god. >> he says that the suspect, sayfullo saipov crashed into it. two children and two adults were among the people hurt and one child is still in critical condition. two men charged in the special council robert mueller's investigation were back in cord today. paul manafort and his business associate rick gates asked the judge to release them to home confinement and they should be allowed to travel for their defense in the 12 count indictment but the judge says that the pair's attorney did not file the proper motions and delayed making any decision, both men are due back in court

the blaze at the vandyke heath house was no accident. it was arson. jeff is live at the fire department. what do we hear from investigators now? >> reporter: that home is listed on the national register of historic places, fortunately nobody was home when the fire broke out and no one was injured. but right now investigators are on the hunt for the arsonist. viewer video shows smoke and flames raging out of control on vandyke road this morning. several departments respond to the fire that damage aid home and barn that predated the revolutionary war. when they arrived the house wag fully engulfed in flames. >> and it took crews two hours to get the fire under control. you see the structure built in 1775, the vandyke heath house home to a family of three and was expanded twice in the 1800s. you have spaces and balloon

construction and the fire on the first floor basement wherever it starts runs up the wall a difficult structure fire to extinguish. and investigators began to look for a cause and brought in an arson dog to sniff tore accelerants. the house was set on fire first and then the detached garage was set on fire. both arson. >> reporter: the assistant fire marshall says he thinks he knows who set the fire and why and an arrest is imminent. channel 6 "action news." thank you. well, a deadly crash left a gaping hole in the side of a philadelphia business. surveillance video shows the vehicle plowing through the outer wall a roofing company in hunting park. it happened at 1:00 in the mornings of rising sun avenue a 75-year-old man was killed in all of this and he was a

passenger in the car. a driver, a 29-year-old woman was rush nood surgery and unclear what caused her to crash. well, police say that a tip call led them to the man suspected of killing three people at a wal-mart store. colorado authorities arrested scott o stromme at a traffic light. two men and a woman were killed. his exact motive remains unclear. a bill inspired by a local stalker case is making its way to the floor of the house of representatives. called the combat online predators act stiffening penalties of the cyber stalking of minors. fit patrick authored this bill after laxed penalties allowed a

man to continue stalking a teenage girl. and he was rearrested and sentenced to seven years in prison and this would add five years to any stalking sentence if the victim is a minor. and bus safety and how septa plays a critical role. they visited st. marys, to kick off a year long partnership. students will use this year's theme be aware your surroundings to create posters with the safety day theme to be used on cars and buses all part of the safety campaign. >> it was an unforgettable day for the patients of cooper university hospital. two real life mermaids made a surprise appearance and read stories and signed autographs after their visit and the mermaids are off to their next adventure at camden aquarium hanging out with the fish and sharks for a limited time. that is as much time as anyone wants to spend with sharks.

video of a kidnapping victim climbing out of her alleged abductor's trunk in alabama. timothy wyatt they say broke into her home and attacked her and allegedly threw her in the car and drove to a remote area, she was able to free her hands and pop the trunk she escaped and wyatt was arrested on wednesday. a mom was caught driving with her son on top of her minivan. well, we missed it but there was a 911 call that got amber in trouble. they said she had the 9-year-old boy strapped to the top of the vehicle in wisconsin and the boy was holing on to a mini pool. >> i couldn't believe i saw that. >> i understand your concern. i don't want anyone to get hurt.
