philadelphia's parkside section. the search is now on for the gunman. plus a candidate for the alabama senate has denied allegations of sexual misconduct with a teenager. he calls the accusations politically motivated. sky6 live hd taking live look at the center city skyline. the city of philadelphia is under a code blue for the first time this season. the cold temperatures are making it harder for some of us to get out of bed this morning. meteorologist chris sowers joins us outside with more on the bone-chilling temperatures. too cold to talk. >> reporter: believe me i had that problem earlier this morning. i think my lips were frozen at one point here. we've been talking about the growing season coming to an andy all week long in anticipation of the cold air coming in here. last weekend, the plants were vibrant and growing strong now they have wilted over. what happens when you get a hard freeze like what we had this morning, the liquid in the

plants freezes, it kills the plants. we had a lot of record low temperatures. ing bottomed down to 18. allentown a new record low, 18. wilmington, 20. trenton, a new record low. 21. atlantic city setting a brand new record low of 21 degrees. the temperatures are rebounding nicely now, but it's very cold considering the time of year. normally temperatures should at least be in the low to mid 40s at this point. we're at 27 in reading. 29 in philadelphia. 30 in millville. 29 in cape may. 29 degrees in dover. because the temperatures are below freezing, the freeze warning continues for south jersey and delaware. this is actually up until 10:00 a.m. at that point we are expecting temperatures in the locations to finally bounce above 32 degrees. as we look at satellite and radar mostly sunny skies expected throughout the afternoon maybe a few high, thin clouds later on. that should be about it. it's going to be a nice looking

presbyterian. a woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in burlington county overnight. the unidentified woman was found on the pemberton bypass near shady lane around midnight. she was pro announced at the scene. -- pronounced at the scene. police are looking for the vehicle that drove off. a description has not been released. a man was shot 6 times sitting inside a pickup truck in parkside. someone approached the victim and opened fire 19 times. after the shooting the truck rolled across the parking lot on to lancaster avenue where it hit a car and utility pole. the victim was taken to penn presbyterian where he later died a might have been for the shooting is not clear. alabama senator roy moore is accused of having a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old.

though, he is speaking out about the claims. we have more about what he is saying about the accusations. >> reporter: roy moore the republican senate candidate is sticking to his guns saying he molested a 14-year-old girl when he was 32-year-old assistant attorney are not true. a report details allegations that the 70-year-old moore tried to have relationships with several women when they were 14 to 18 years old and he feels in his 30s. one of the women. >> i never had contact with her, i believe the accusations are politically motivated they are trying to stop a successful campaign and that he is what they are doing. >> reporter: overnight the moore campaign blasted out the e-mail

tuesday we had rain and knocked the temperature down to 49. 52 wednesday, 59 thursday, yesterday's afternoon high only topped out at 39 degrees. of course with the 35-mile an hour wind on top of that we had windchills in the 20s. the temperatures got so cold last night look what happened. now, i've had several viewers send in pictures like this if you look at the ground this is my buddy in sewell, new jersey, we had such a mild fall a lot of trees in my backyard are green. so the temperatures got so cold last night, the green leaves dropped without changing color because we had the hard freeze and that froze the liquid inside all the leaves and the plants and killed everything. that's what's meant by a hard freeze, anything inside it freezes. here's the witch, 19 --

>> reporter: morgan siegfried profiles the team doctors who is a military service members. >> reporter: the doctor has taken a career in medicine and turned it into a lifetime of service. whether he is on the sidelines of a football field or serving our cannot as a member of the u.s. navel reserves his dedication and selflessness are remarkable. >> it's a sense of service. i come from a family where i've had multiple family members serve, so once i did that and had my experience on active duty, it was such a rewarding experience that i wound up deciding to stick around in the reserves. football sidelined or basketball court is a different setting than a hospital or office setting, so it allows me to practice medicine, but in a setting where there's a lot of excitement and i get to be with these athletes at an incredibly important time in their lives. to be a part of that, for me
