>> arrested in a montgomery county wawa. the two suspects caught when they tried to fill their getaway car with gas. >> the big story on "action news" at noon is a gloomy start to a new work week as we look live outside right now, sky6 showing you a foggy center city skyline. lots of clouds still lingering but after a morning of steady rain we may soon be drying out, maybe even some sunshine. did you wake up in a fog this morning. >> no. tomorrow there could be some patchy fog tomorrow but as we take a look at the wide view on satellite you see a lot of cloud cover. the rain that did come through starting in the predawn hours going straight through the morning rush hour is pretty much off to the east of philadelphia at this point. i'll show you that closer view. everything we've got marching through the region at this point is over around southern bucks county near trenton and northern burlington county and ocean county and all of that is highlighted in lighter shades of green. might be a little drizzle

behind this green but generally speaking we are cloudy and roads beginning to dry out especially in the western two-thirds of the region. temperatures are cool. 42 in philadelphia and wilmington, 42 trenton. grab your coat as you head outside this noon. a 40 degrees in allentown. reading struggling to get out of the 30's and 45 in millville, 44 in cape may. the rest of the way does look cool and also fairly cloudy. 47 degrees by 2 o'clock. i'm expecting a high around 47, 48, 3 o'clock and then 46 degrees by 4 o'clock. there is a slight chance of some sunshine breaking out later today. but it's going to be a struggle. does look like by 6 o'clock, 8 o'clock we're mostly cloudy. with begin to clear out later tonight. temperatures down to 39 degrees as soon as 8 o'clock and 37 after that. we expect to be well down into the 30's overnight and some areas down into the 20's. future tracker6 getting rid of the rain for us by 3 o'clock, it still looks pretty overcast, maybe we get some peeks of sun late but i can't guarantee it. guys when i come back we are

looking a lot better in terms of how things appear in the heavens tomorrow and wednesday and even thursday. and the temperatures start to come up again, too, but we have a couple of more chances of precipitation in the seven day. i'll have that story coming up. >> david thank you. as always you can keep up with changes to the forecast on your phone or tablet. that includes realtime views from storm tracker6. 6abc app is a free download for your mobile device. >> one person is in custody and a second person remains at large after a wild chase in delaware. the suspects white vehicle crashed into another car and a telephone pole and then hit several parked cars this morning here in newport. this happened as the pair tried to flee police during a chase that began around 10 o'clock on maryland avenue. the driver fled on foot but was caught a short time later. a passenger also ran and then to get away. fortunately there were no serious injuries. police have still not said why they were pursuing that car. we're waiting new information about the death of a fraternity pledge at penn

state. it involves key surveillance video that was deleted by a fraternity member after the death of 19-year-old timothy piazza. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live now in the satellite center with a preview of today's announcement. katherine. >> reporter: sarah, we don't know exactly what that announcement will entail but it's set to take place in about an hour and investigators have said that that deleted footage is crucial in understanding what exactly happened that night. this afternoon in belfont the district attorney will announce the findings of an investigation into deleted security footage at a penn state fraternity house. where a hazing incident is said to have led to a sophomore's death in february. 19-year-old tim piazza of lebanon new jersey was pledging beta theta pi. he fell down the basement stairs around 11:00 p.m. after drinking heavily at a pledge party. they also say an ambulance wasn't called until 12 hours later. piazza sustained a fractured

skull and other injuries and died at the hospital on february 4th. investigators did retrieve video from the frat security cameras but prosecutors maintain a fraternity member erased key footage from a camera in the basement. more than a dozen former members of the fraternity faced criminal charges in connection with piazza's death. the district attorney's officers says this afternoon's press conference will reveal the results of the investigation into deleted basement surveillance. the press release states the video shows the ongoing hazing that occurred that night and beta brothers repeatedly providing alcohol to piazza and other pledges throughout the evening. and "action news" will be at that 1:00 p.m. announcement at the courthouse. we'll bring you all the latest details. we're live from the satellite center katherine scott, channel6 "action news. rick. >> katherine thank you. police are investigating a deadly crash in burlington county. happened just before midnight on hartford road in delran. one person died when a car crashed into a pole. a second person was rushed to

the hospital. authorities believe a second vehicle was also involved. two armed robbery suspects were caught when they stopped to fill up their getaway car with gas. police arrested the pair at a wawa gas station at philmont avenue and red lion road in lower moreland. they were fleeing the scene of a robbery at a bar. they stole a 41-year-old man's wallet cell phone keys and cash. police spotted their white van and arrested them. the stolen items were recovered in the back back seat. >> president trump says he'll be delivering a major statement on trade and north korea on wednesday once he's back in washington. today he met with philippines controversial leader. abc's karen travers is traveling were it president. she reports with the latest. >> reporter: good afternoon. the trump administration says it would like to talk about tough issues like human rights

behind closed doors believing that gives them more leverage than public criticism. that's what trump did today with president duterte. two leaders striking a tone. >> we had a great relationship. this has been very successful. >> reporter: duterte has come under intense scrutiny by human rights groups. part of his aggressive crackdown on drug dealers. the white house says the meeting focused on isis trade and drugs and human rights briefly came up in the context of the philippines fight against illegal drugs. before that, the president's day started with an awkward moment. mr. trump and other world leaders standing side by side told to put one hand over the other and shake hands with the person next to them. it didn't go smoothly and mr. trump didn't seem to be enjoying himself. later he got down to business. the meeting with the prime ministers of australia and japan. president trump says he's made

>> this is new video of a terrifying close call. a semi truck was able to stop just in time to avoid a child. the boy stepped off the bus and ran across the road. the incident back in june in norway. another truck coming in the opposite direction caught the whole thing on a dashboard camera. the other driver also warned the oncoming vehicle by honking and flashing his lights. three earthquakes hit japan costa rica and iran within hours of each other. the shaking was felt as far west as the mediterranean

coast. another tremor struck costa rica and another off the coast of japan. >> new reports about the death of an american soldier in niger. the report suggested that islam mick militants executed him. ? and son is one of four americans killed during an ambush. the u.s. military has not confirmed the new witness accounts. police now have man in custody for a double stabbing at the mall of america in minnesota. happened yesterday inside of a macy's department store. police say the first victim was stabbed after he returned to the dressing room and confronted man who was trying to steal his belongings. the sec victim was stabbed after intervening. both men are expected to recover. police have not yet identified the 20-year-old suspect. >> 50 people mostly college students are now recovering following a floor collapse in texas. video posted on twitter captures the people partying

at a student only apartment building northwest of dallas on saturday night. during all the fun the floor gave way. everyone walked away our was pulled out without serious injuries. four people living below the collapse were not home at the time. the cause of the collapse is not known. >> jury deliberations expected to start all over again today in the corruption of trial of senator bob menendez. the panel was scheduled to resume with an alternate after the judge had to excuse another panel last week due to a previously scheduled vacation. after her dismissal, that woman told reporters that she anticipated a hung jury. the judge is now questioning several other jurors who admitted they heard about those comments over the weekend. >> coming up at noon a gender gap when it comes to life saving help. find out why women are less likely to get cpr in a public place. >> a smash musical coming to philadelphia just in time for the holidays and we have details coming right up.

>> ♪ >> meteorologist, david murphy back now with another check of that somewhat soggy accuweather forecast. >> it certainly was this morning. right now if you're by trenton and northern burlington county you still have some rain. storm tracker6 live double scan shows us that. now, the rain situation is getting a lot better. if i go in tighter on this, most of what we're seeing is lighter shades of green.

some of it creeping up the i-95 corridor south of trenton and just to the east of the northeast philadelphia airport. you can kind of see that airport runway right there. and some steady rain highlighted in darker shades of green but this is really pushing out pretty quickly. a little bit more down here to the north of atlantic city. looks like most of our shore communities including the ac airport are beginning to dry out. not that you can't get a little drizzle behind that green but generally speaking we are improving. clouds still thick and that includes montgomery county at spring mountain where they will be making the snow and inviting guests to ski down that slope not before too much longer. your temperature 42 degrees. we're trying to work some sun back into play during the afternoon. winds out of the north at seven drawing drier air in and chilly out there, certainly chilly enough for a coat. if you're going to be heading out. 41 degrees in allentown, still

just 39 degrees in reading. 40 in lancaster, 42 readings in wilmington and philadelphia. 45 in cape may. there goes the rain from this morning. it came in overnight and is now pushing away from us. notice how we did get a little snow up in the poconos out of that and some sleet. for a time there was a concern this morning that some of that make way it is way down into our northern and western suburbs and it did not and everybody up north just had rain. lehigh valley mostly cloudy today, cool, can't totally rule out some sun breaking through at times. 48 is the high. clouds are definitely going to win the afternoon overall though. at the shore mostly cloudy and cool, 50 and in philadelphia, a chilly high around 48 degrees, mostly cloudy skies out there and obviously on the cool side, jacket weather all the way. winds out of the north at five to 10 miles per hour. overnight tonight we'll probably clear out to a good degree. there might be a few leftover clouds and then early tomorrow morning some patchy fog could develop and i'll be tracking that in the morning along with karen rogers right here on "action news." the overnight low is going to be cold, 34 in philadelphia

and some suburbs 26 degrees and if we do get fog, you know that's water droplets right down at the surface. be careful in these colder spots because there could be some slipping and sliding with the fog. tuesday then in the afternoon not bad, sun mixing with clouds. it will still be cool but we're going to have high pressure coming in closer to us and a high of 51 so a few degrees better on the thermometer tomorrow and a much looking day with that sunshine. high pressure arriving over the next couple days. a nice change for tuesday and wednesday. much brighter tomorrow with a clouds and sun mix, probably full sunshine for the most part and wednesday and ice in the 50's and the average high is 57. we'll be pushing up close to that by the time we get into wednesday afternoon and then again on thursday. your inclusive accuweather 7-day, today chilly, 48, mostly cloudy skies. those sprinkles and showers getting out of here as we speak. tomorrow 51 and lots of sunshine on wednesday with a high of 54. on thursday we will get to that average high of 57.

the center city skyline. still lots of clouds and fog out there. we're hoping to see brighter skies at some point. meteorologist, david murphy is outdoors on the terrace with the latest from accuweather. gloomy. >> some point might be tomorrow for some of us. right now a little mist here on the terrace. as we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan the active rain is pushing away from the region getting away from trenton and southern bucks county, northern burlington county about ready to dry out and points north of atlantic city along the coastline with just a little bit of leftover. with the low lying cloud cover however there's the chance of some drizzle on your windshield until we get a little later into the afternoon and that north wind begins to dry us out a bit. boy, you can see an awful lot of cloud cover out there, though and it does look like the sun will have a hard time making a run at us. maybe that happens late today. 42 degrees right now in philadelphia and just 41 in allentown and reading. reading is actually finally dipped out or climbed out of the upper 30's.
