good afternoon we begin with breaking news. police captured four teenagers that escaped from a deception center in new jersey. they broke out a deception in egg harbor city and after a manhunt that forced five surrounding school districts to closed. three were caught in bridgeton more than 30 miles away. and we learned that the fourth teenager that remains at large is accused of murder. katherine scott is live with the latest. >> reporter: rick and sara, at this point we don't foe how the teens got to bring ton but we know that three of them are captured and they are still looking for one of them. 18-year-old michael huggins. charges with the murder lastier in bridgeton. lets go to chopper 6 hd over the scene of the command center in bridgeton where they continue to search for huggins.

the new jersey state police fugitive task force is looking around the state wood prison. he is charged with the murder of dehaven'ty lee. >> all are between 16 and 18 years old. that authorities say escaped from harbor field youth detention center from egg harbor overnight. huggins remains at large. >> we got the information out and dispersed it statewide and developed some information and managed to pick up three of the four individuals with the other ones being at large. >> and the teens overtook several guards at the facility and stole keys from one of them and fled if n-her personal car and it shows the vehicle sideswipes a jeep and then the car came to rest on the sidewalk near a home.

>> and in the footage you see the teens get ougt ing out of the car. it was his jeep that was hit. >> these are basically hiding anywhere. they could be anywhere now. >> state police search from the air as they monitored local bus and train stations and on the ground with k-9 units combing the neighborhood. >> we picked up the track from the car and when through the neighborhood a short distance and then came to where they lost the track. the teens were in various state of unrest and one wearing boxer shorts and one didn't have shoes on and they were worried about them breaking into a home looking for clothing. >> there was an s.w.a.t. team here and machine guns, it was very frightening. >> and lets go back live to the scene in bridgeton. you can see chopper 6 hd is over head there, they are in the area

of southwood state prison in bridgeton where they continued to search for 18-year-old michael huggins. he was charged with the murder last year of lee, 21 years old and shot while sitting in a vehicle in bridgeton last year and huggins is charged with the murder and remains on the loose. if you see him do not approach him call 911. channel 6 "action news." >> all right thank you. and 6abc.com has complete details on this still developing story from egg harbor city. and you can see the ongoing investigation. in other news a local courtroom was packed as two murder suspects face aid judge. the two brothers are accused of killing a father in front of his young daughter in spring garden. jeanette reyes is here with more. >> reporter: friends and family

quickly piled into the room and it was standing room only during the preliminary hearing. it was an emotional hearing and groovic video was played in private. this is the video of the shooting played for the defendants and judge to see and during this time you could hear the pin drop. the defendants appeared to be emotionless at the time and one attorney tells us it's the most difficult he has seen and unlike any other. this is the defendant's attorney. it's in color and with sound and you can clearly hear the victim the father begging the defendants let him get his daughter out of the car. nearly the entire time her eyes were glued to the two brothers accused of killing her husband in spring garden. it's marvin roberts and 20-year-old maurice. and his wife shook her head in

disbelief as the defendant's attorneys argued this was a robbery gone horribly wrong and they insisted the brothers knew full well what they were doing and push forward with the first degree murder charges. hear what a neighbor had to say about this. >> ran out and tried to help jerry and i could tell that jerry was pretty much gone. it was a very hard thing to see. and hard to absorb and handle. we loved jerry very much and he helped me all the time. >> reporter: and the judge decided or at least preliminarily that the first degree murder charges will stay. and a hearing was set for december 6th, grandville leaves behind a toddler and 12-week-old baby girl behind. channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. police say there say man prowling the lehigh valley

trying to abduct young women and investigators know of at least two incidents that happened yesterday in bethlehem township. first he approached an 18-year-old student from more avian college and touched her arm and grabbed her hand and would not let go until she started screaming and ran to a light blue older model car and drove off and a student later was approached by a similar car at liberty high school and again left when the girl pulled out her cell phone. police are urging anyone with information to give them a call. turning to an weather it's on the cool side with another round of rain expected to arrive tonight. as we look outside sky 6 hd showing you the view of the ben franklin bridge and penn's landing and i-95 at lunch time. david murphy has the first check of your midweek forecast for you. >> so far so good. we have plenty of sunshine and clouds rolling in from the west though. we are expecting to increase the cloud cover a bit late engineer

officials in northern california say that teachers and staff saved the lives of students when a gunman went on a shooting spree yesterday sx the gunman targeted an elementary school and sex other locations leaving four people dead and ten owner wounded. staffers heard shots and placed the school on lockdown and was bent on killing people at random. and the death toll could have been higher. >> based on that video, there is

no doubt in my mind, saved countless lives and children. >> authorities believe that 43-year-old kevin neil was responsible for the shooting spree and at the time he was out on bail for a charge of stabbing a neighbor and died in the shootout with police. federal agents are combing the neighborhood in tampa, florida, where four people were shot to death in the last month. s.w.a.t. members are carrying rifles going door-to-door. a man was gunned down as he was walking to volunteer at a soup kitchen. and new video shows a pickup truck slamming into a school bus with three children on board. the driver immediately jumps up to see if the kids were okay and sees the smoke starting to fill the bus. >> i could only think about the children i didn't have time to

even warn them or tell them it was happening. it just happened. >> the driver and a good samaritan helped the children get off. hundreds of american airlines passengers landed safely after a bird slammed into the front of their plane. they were heading from mexico city to miami yesterday when the bird hit the nose and then remained stuck there. once they arrived in florida the airline called animal services to retrieve the dead bird from the plane and they had to take the plane out of service for repairs. another fierce wild fire broke out in california with the flames creeping close to a community in desert hot springs. right now the crews have the fire about 30% contained and one firefighter is treated for minor burns and they believe that the fire ignited when a car overheated in the desert. and coming up tonight at 11:00 the "action news"

sunshine so far today. out to the west there are clouds approaching and we'll see things get cloudier in the afternoon and nice so far. up to 50 degrees on the thermometer and winds are light 7 miles per hour out of the east-northeast. and a jacket is a good idea. this is similar to what we had yesterday. winds turn from the east a little bit but not bad temperature-wise. 48 in reading and 48 in trenton and 50 in philadelphia and wilmington and 53 in millville and cape may. we'll probably add one or two degrees to the numbers before we are done. cool and fairly comfortable and nice with the light wind. some cloud cover is beginning to push in off the ocean with the wind switching from the east and you see the mass of clouds coming into to the west. it won't be too much longer before we introduce cloud cover and there is rain and falling apart and becoming less intense

"action news" at 12:30 continues. with rick williams, sara bloomquist and david murphy. we begin at 12:30 with the latest on the breaking news we are following all morning long in south jersey. that is where the search continues for this teenager. 18-year-old michael huggins he remains on the loose after escaping from a detention fas it's in atlantic county. >> he was with three other teenagers that got away and they have since been captured and huggins is considered to be dangerous. the atlanta county sheriff's office says that the four teens escaped from harbor field youth

detention facility in egg harbor city this morning. the teens stole a video and crashed trying to get away from police and three teenagers were recaptured in bridgeton. but huggins is still on the run. trish hartman has the latest. >> reporter: rick, police are still on the hunt for the one suspect, michael huggins, considered to be dangerous and we learned he is charged with a murder from last year in cumberland county and the other three escapees are in custody. this is the street where the four teens crashed and ditched the stolen car in this neighborhood less than a mile from the harbor field youth detention facility. >> members of the new jersey state police task force scoured the area in bridgeton looking for michael huggins. looking at maps as they searched for the escapee. huggins is
