out by a group of juveniles last week. jeff has more on this. >> reporter: police are looking for kids as young as 12 years old in connection to this crime. they say they took a metal pipe to a victim's head and kept chasing him as he tried to escape. >> i had two gashes to my skull at the end of it. i had to get nine stitches. >> to-year-old eli says he is lucky his injuries were not worse, the junior told the campus newspaper he was heading to his car after class on november 7th when we passed a group of young teens. >> turns around and punches me in the back of the head and the kid to his right striked me in the head with like a metal pipe.

>> his parents both local radio personalities tweeted this picture of their son in the hospital. he ran way but they caught up with them every time he slipped on the wet pavement. >> they were aiming for my head and they were trying to knock me out. >> it's disturbing because these are young kids. >> the police chief believe this is a random attack and identify aid 13-year-old as a person of interest. >> we are trying to get this kid and move through the identification process and move through looking to see the other three and get them involved. >> mountain in the meantime they are looking to see if it was connect to a second attack an hour later. and students were unaware of the incidents and unphased. >> it's in the back of my mind but i walk this way a lot. >> campus surveillance cameras got video of this group of young

people prior to the attack and unfortunately it was dark and rainy but not clear images of their faces, if you know anything are you urged to call police. >> thank you. escaped juvenile and new jersey murder suspect, 18-year-old michael huggins back in police custody tonight. authorities recaptured him in atlantic city this morning. he and three other young inmates escaped from a young detention sentner egg harbor city yesterday. they stole a guard's car and fled on foot after crashing it. the three other juveniles were captured a few hours later. we'll more coming up at 6:00 a developing storey, bob mendez says all signs point to him running for re-election next year after a judge declared a mistrial in the bribery trial today. an emotional mendez thanked god

>> lets head only on a thursday evening, if you do so on 95 you'll find company. southbound lanes from 420 to this point at ridley park to the blue route and a minor fender bender off to the side approaching 476 and on the blue route itself an accident northbound by the route 1 media bypass and springfield. they got it pushed off to the side and speeds like 7 miles per hour coming away from 95 because of that accident. elsewhere on 95 a crash on academy that is all off to the left shoulder and slow coming north of cotman, and the broken down truck on 95 luckily that is gone and still slow there. and the crash may be clearing along 422 westbound in berks coins and slow speeds out of pottstown and you may want to use 724 as an alternate and coatesville a motorcycle wreck along lincoln highway at 10th

hello again, here is what is happening on "action news" tonight. a judge declared a mistrial in the case against bob mendez. hear the emotional statement that followed the decision. and bombshell allegations against al franken a radio personality says he groped her and a picture shows it. now the details a judge declared a misindustrial in the corruption trial of senator bob mendez. it came after jurors that heard evidence for two months declared they were hopelessly deadlocked in new jersey. >> well, first and above all i want to thank god because it is by his grace i was delivered from an unjust prosecution. >> nine days of witnesses and

testimony and five years of allegations of corruption. this case against bob mendez ends in a hung jury. ed says he and his nine jurors found no misuse of office and no bribery and no evidence of the counts that the government alleged. >> i found him not guilty. i don't think the government proved it. >> explain more? >> there was no smoking gun. we when with our hearts and there was not enough to convict him. >> i thought they were friends. yes, i totally thought they were friends, long time friends. >> the senator accused the government of unfairly targeting him. >> i cannot begin to tell you how many people have come to tell me that the fbi went to them and said what can you give us on mendez.
