festivities happening around the region. we'll get to the food and early black friday shopping but first a look back at the excitement on the parkway. ♪ ♪ yes, the parade kicked off with a huge group of singers and dancers and when they were done our friends from dunkin' donuts along with 6 abc president, bernie prazenica cut the ribbon to kick off all the fun. and what would a parade be without the marching band of the white land warriors from whiteland, indiana, opened up the parade and the third time taking part in this tradition. >> and flying high is clifford the big red dog, this beloved character, stood more than 20 feet tall. and the host of our parade were once again "action news" anchor, rick williams and meteorologist, cecily tynan. they were joined by lots of

guests including justin garini, he is a native of bucks county. >> it is a munchkin turkey! >> adam joseph was on the parade route with the dunkin' donuts fan cam and took 800 hours and 800 munchkins to create this sweet treat. >> you know that tune, this singing string quartet called well strong performed their rendition of "call me maybe" it's their vocals and strings with pop music. ♪ we are rocking in the studio more than 300 dancers danced in

people in the area. philadelphia mayor jim kenney stopped by to offer words of thanks that give up their time on thanksgiving morning so others can enjoy a holiday meal. normally people carve up before heading to a run but thanksgiving day is reserved for the run before the feast. tom carver kicked off the ms run in delaware to take part in the 10 k and 5-k run at 10th and orange streets. participants raised money and awareness for multiple sclerosis. >> and so many activities outdoors today. >> a good day for it. >> plenty of sunshine and bright blue sky overhead. temperatures though cooler than average, but that is okay. we'll take it on this thanksgiving, we'll show what you is going on in the weather center, a lot of folks outside at city hall at dillworth park enjoying the ice rink and good conditions to do ice skating

with james mcguire. the trot has raised $2.35 million for face-to-face that helps the thousands of families and provides social services for people in need. >> there was a lot of generosity from a mountain of meals in atlantic city. it was at the atlantic city rescue mission as chefs prepared thanksgiving dinner for 1,000 homeless and needy people. another 100 was served by the salvation army. and by comcast speck accord and the a.c. convention center and the salvation army served up enough meals to serve 4,000 and they were taken to go. allowing the families to go back home and enjoy the food with their families in the confident of their own homes. and salvation army and staff and 120 volunteers made this all possible today. >> our team coverage of the thank giving day holiday

of course the dancing and the music are a big drew for the 6 abc dunkin donuts thanksgiving day parade. earth wind and fire was a favorite as they took us back to the 1970s when the new sound emerged. this colorful soulful performance was put on by the philadelphia high school for the creative and performance art. there were plenty of floats in the parade including this one called cool cats and hot dogs, featuring fun loving furry friends getting ready for the holidays with their home sweet home and riding on the float was a performing in the parade mary. and joining her was bucks county native justin gareni.
