three-year old girl was shot in the leg in a home in philadelphia's kingsessing section. >> it happened on the 1300 block of south wilson street action news reporter annie mccormack joins us live from southwest texas with the details, annie.

>> reporter: at this hour that little girl is at chop and she's in stable condition but right now we are told that by the lieutenant here that she is under going surgery and they are hoping, doctors are hoping, that they are able to save her leg. somehow she got a hold of her father's loaded weapon inside of their home, and she somehow pulled the trigger. now take a look at this video, video from afternoon, this is the air use where this all happen, inside of a home in the 1300 block of south wilson the child was shot once inside her home there. police recovered the weapon at the scene. toddler then rushed to chop. police say that the toddler -- fat shore owns the gun was rushing to get to work and asked his mother who was watching the young girl to put the gun away. he left and went to work and told police his daughter was asleep when he left. we are also told that the father does have a permit to carry and that this is a legal weapon. authorities say that when

medics arrived, because of a, gun, they weren't sure if it was a gunshot wound they responded because little girl was bleeding. grand mother and other people in the home did not tell medics that that this was was a case of gunshot wound. they would also not say if there was a gun in the home. medics eventually got the story out of them and then rushed her to the hospital. the bullet caused three wounds in the little girl's legs because of the way that she was sitting. we are told that it entered into her thigh and exited out of her calf. now back out here live, southwest detectives, a number of people are still being interviewed. we are told by authorities here that they are expecting to charge the grandmother in this case and possible, that the father could be charged as well. we're reporting live in west philadelphia, annie mccormack for channel six "action news". >> thank you. man is injured during an early morning home invasion in philadelphia's point breeze section. police say three masked men forced their way in this house

in the 2100 block of oakford street at 6:15 a.m. they shot a 31 year-old woman in the leg and 35 year-old man in the back of the head. both were taken to penn presbyterian. we don't yet know their conditions. it is unclear if anything was taken from the home. no arrests have been made. short time ago we have learn identities of the two people found shot to death on i-95 in bucks county last night. investigators say that they now believe this is a case of murder/suicide. deceased three two-year old maria chew lynn chew and 60 year-old david chew lynn chew from philadelphia at 5:30 police were called to 95 in bensalem on reports of the woman on foot running against traffic. officers quickly responded and upon arrival, they heard what sound like two gunshots. that is when bodies were discovered, next to each other and gun in the man's hand. fifty-eight year-old man is in custody accused of stabbing a 57 year-old man in the spring garden section of philadelphia. investigators say victim was getting grocery from his his

car but his assailant approached and began arguing. suspect then stabbed victim twice in the chest. officers nearby arrested the suspect at the scene, victim remains hospitalized in critical condition. a man in his 60's is in stable condition after jumping out of the window to escape a house fire. the fire erupted around 11:00 on the 2,000 block of disston street in philadelphia 's rhawnhurst section. fire fighters encountered heavy smoke that took them 20 minutes to get this blaze under control. a police officer was also injured, the officer was directing traffic near the fire, when he was struck by an elderly driver. the officer is also in stable condition. all right. moving on to the accu weather forecast it was a few degrees cooler but great day to get outside for fresh air. >> that is true meteorologist melissa magee joins us with the accu weather forecast. >> sarah and walter temperatures were cooler then they were yesterday but despite that it was comfortable across the region. we did have blustery winds,

john conyors says he is stepping aside as top democrat on the house judiciary committee. it comes amid a congressional investigation into allegations that he sexually harassed female staff members n a statement the 88 year-old conyors said he denies allegations and would like to keep his leadership role on the committee but conyors add he quote cannot in good conscious, allow the charges to be undue distraction to how his collogues as the investigation continues. meanwhile minnesota's senator al franken says he will return to work tomorrow. franken finally broke his silence after being swept up in a nationwide tide of sexual harassment allegations. franken says he feels embarrassed and ashamed but looks forward to returning to work on monday to gradually regain trust of voters. four women have come forward accusing him of misconduct. three of them said franken grabbed their back sides while taking photos at campaign events. all of these latest developments come as president

has been, you know, embarrassing. >> reporter: franken says he will not resign and willful i cooperate with a senate ethics investigation into his behavior. on the house side, 88 year-old michigan representative john conyors stepped aside as top democrat on the house judiciary committee while congress investigates allegations that he sexually harassed female staff members. the top house democrat initially defended conyors sunday morning. >> john conyors is an icon in our country. later nancy pelosi released a statement that an individual's legacy is not a license for her race. chuck severson, abc news, new york. news man charlie rose, who was fired by cbs and pbs last week in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations has had accolade from two universities rescinded. arizona's walter concrete school of journalism and mass communication gave roseanne award for journalism excellence in 2015. but revoked it on friday.

school's dean said that the allegations about rose were too egregious to ignore. he hopes to send a message that sexual misconduct would not be tolerated. university of kansas also revoke the award it presented rose just last spring. actress and singer nya riveria was arrested in west virginia. the glee star was arraigned on domestic battery charges just after midnight. riveria's husband anchor ryan dorsey says she hit him in the head and lips while they were taking their three-year old son for a walk. riveria filed for divorce in 2016 but the couple called off their separation last month. the judge released riveria on bond. former presidents george h w bush has reached another milestone. as of yesterday he is now longest living president ever, at the age of 93 years and 166 days. the forty-first president surpassed gerald ford who lived to be 93 years and 165 days according to a political

section overnight. investigators say the couple was driving near intersection of the wellington avenue and glennoch street at 2:30 this morning when they notice aid car with two men following them. they pulled over. woman's boyfriend got out and approached the men. police say one of the men then shot the victim three times. suspect then ran away. victim remains in critical condition at aria torresdale n word yet on a possible motive for the shooting. a man has been critically injured after a shooting in the logan section of the city. police were called to the 4800 block of north 15th street at 11:30 last night. they found a chevrolet still running with bullet holes and passenger door opened. a 31 year-old man was found a block away, shot repeatedly. he was taken to einstein medical center for surgery. no word yet on a motive behind this shooting as well. a hazmat crew had to be called in after a car crash in burlington county, new jersey. police say a woman in her 30's lost control of her car around 2:30 this morning on route 130 near 10bee chase drive-in delran.
