retaliatory sanctions. that same day president-elect trump tweeted. >> there appears to be a lot of evidence that people around the president have had interactions with the russians. >> reporter: in a statement the white house said the false statements involved near mirror the false statements to the white house which resulted in his resignation in february of this year and they added nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than mr. flynn. flynn faces up to five years in prison leaving the court. >> lock him up. >> reporter: facing the same chants he once led against hillary clinton during the rnc convention. a close confidante of michael flynn tells abc news he grew concerned about legal fees and felt abandoned by the president in recent weeks. only told people in the past 24 hours that he planned to take the plea deal. serena marshall ab presidential news in washington. >> "action news" has continuing coverage of this major story.

a fourth floor hotel room. there are other victims in that possibly as many as three other states. the fbi is said to be assisting. the focus of the criminal charges and investigations is 30-year-old seth mull, mull who prides himself on his physique has multiple facebook accounts projecting a comforting persona authorities say he uses his online connections to reach out to women. authorities say once he meets them he turns vicious controlling. >> he refers to his victims as "his property" and ultimately forces the victims to take part in sex orgies and other acts which he films and or forces his victims into prostitution. >> reporter: in october, bethlehem police were called to the holiday inn express where a 24-year-old texted she was being held against her will. >> the female had visible injuries to her neck area and a burn mark from a torch on her back. she reported that mull had choked her to the point of passing out and raped her. mull also threatened her family and her friends. >> reporter: in philadelphia, police say mull

invited a 25-year-old woman to this year's made in america concert. and then kept her captive in a room at the marriott on market street for four days while attacking her. authorities in northampton county say additional women have come forward but believe there are still others out there so traumatized they need professional counseling. >> if we have young females out there who have experienced this, who know this individual, who have not come forward, you know, we can help them. >> reporter: well, mull is in custody, has been for about a month now. he is charged with two separate incidents here in northampton county that one case in philadelphia, apparently investigators in chicago, california several cities in california and hawaii are also looking into his behavior in those cities. part of the message here from the district attorney is if you know mull and you were victimized by him to reach out, reach out to the d.a.'s office or bethlehem police particularly the detective's

department of the bethlehem police department. live in bethlehem john rawlins channel6 "action news." >> two people died in this crash in wilmington delaware. we first told you about it as breaking news at noon. a total of four vehicles collided on 495 northbound just north of 12th street. the road just reopened at 3:45 this afternoon. investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash. three people are recovering from injuries after a car and a school bus collided in the juniata section of philadelphia. chopper6 overhead as police responded at 6:30 this morning. a 15-year-old student the bus driver and a bus attendant were all taken to the hospital. the driver of the car was not injured. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the vehicles to collide here on east wyoming street near tacony creek park. that bus wall headed to the campus of hancock middle school. >> the fbi says a serial bank robber has struck again. 43-year-old kenneth reyes allegedly robbed the

philadelphia federal credit union yesterday on the 2100 block east dauphin street. the same man is also wanted for three previous holdups three in philadelphia one at a republic bank in wynnewood montgomery county. the fbi is asking for the public's help in locating the suspect. there is a reward for any information that leads to his capture. some neighborhoods in delaware monitoring aftershocks -- monitoring for aftershocks following yesterday's earthquake. it was just after 4:30 when the 4.1 magnitude quake rattled the delaware valley. "action news" reporter bob brooks is live this afternoon near the epicenter with more on just what happened there yesterday. bob. >> reporter: yeah, rick, i know some people further up north around philadelphia and the delaware valley might have just saw some rumbling things like that but down here in little creek that's not the case. they were rocked. we spoke with a lot of neighbors who describe a wild scene. they say it was very scary and they would prefer if it

doesn't happen here for a very long time. >> just a mile or two away, about 2 miles at the post office. >> reporter: today nicky of the dutch shop of little creek feels fortunate explaining about 2 miles from his home in his woodworking shop is the suspected location of the epicenter of yesterday's earthquake. >> the whole house moved, right, and then it kept moving and that's when i started praying like oh, no, i thought my chimneys were going to fall through the roof. >> reporter: next he ran outside. he describes the local wildlife in a panic. >> broke up their patterns, how geese and stuff fly. that's when i said it must be an earthquake. >> reporter: others in the one street town fled in fear that their homes would collapse. >> everybody come running out the street. >> reporter: just up the road they too describe the earthquake as something pretty scary. >> i was in jean's office upstairs and we saw the garage blew up. >> reporter: today about 25 miles from little creek we caught up with dr. helen and

in west chester for us this afternoon. >> that's right. he's getting ready to host the big yearly christmas parade. always a lot of fun there. hi, adam. >> hi, adam. >> reporter: i look forward to this guys, every single year. it's the 38th annual it's my 11th year co-hosting. there are 6,000 participants in the parade. 21 marching bands, balloons. this is an entire production here and they're setting up as you can see behind me. oh, you're dancing behind me. i love it. santa hat, so cute. there's a lot of cute things here and the courthouse they have their tree ready as well. the weather is probably perfect. it's probably one of the nicest years that i've par taken in this parade weather-wise. 52 at philadelphia right now, 39 in syracuse, 45 degrees in buffalo, 50's for richmond so some cooler air trying to come in from the north and west but as we look at satellite and radar, we've got a crystal clear sky overhead right now. high pressure in the ohio valley, that high pressure will be sliding in here for the weekend so we have a

traffic center. t.g.i.f. to you matt. >> happy friday to you rick and monica. unfortunately it hasn't been so happy in wilmington this afternoon. we had that awful accident along 495 northbound side and as you heard everything just reopened in the northbound direction but we're still dealing with the ramifications of the earlier closure. everybody was forced onto 95 so there's still a pretty big delay from newark with speeds of nine and 5 miles per hour. we're trying to recover but still a rough go in the first state. on 95 in pennsylvania typical slowing northbound by penn's landing, 15 miles per hour. over in pennsauken have a crash along 130, 30 southbound by park drive so that's jamming things up as you travel southbound on 130. and we've been watching this, a crash on the northbound side of the boulevard extension now off to the side but still extra heavy as you come off the schuylkill expressway. there's the accident right there now on the shoulder. and there's a crash on the shoulder or there was here on 422 westbound approaching 23, luckily it just cleared out.

the change to the senate bill was a key demand of maine republican senator susan collins in exchange for her support. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell says the gop does have enough votes to pass that bill. here is a look at today's closing numbers, all three indices are down. the dow down 40 points and change nasdaq 26 the s & p 500 dropping five points. >> the world's first stainless steel plain is back home in the franklin institute. the crane carefully lifted the aircraft into position. now back on display on the front lawn of the museum. the plane was being restored for the past year. it was its first makeover -- it got its first makeover in almost 50 years. >> students and staff at princeton university invented a new way to help folks left homeless by natural disasters. they created a light weight instant house that can quickly be set up in areas of devastation. the goal to give folks a

temporary but safe place to live if their own home is wiped out. students from john witherspoon middle school helped with the project today. they'll try to replicate that design during the school project next spring. >> all right. time now to head back to west chester another check of the accuweather forecast and all the festivities that are going up there tonight. >> it's getting exciting. meteorologist adam joseph getting ready for tonight's big christmas parade. hi, adam. >> hi, adam. >> reporter: all the acts are warming up. one thing this year that i know that a lot of performers are happy about is the weather and how warm it is because you've got a lot of performers who aren't wearing a whole lot so to speak, they don't have these beautiful costumes that they do not want to cover etch and these the are on edge movement dancers from oaks, pennsylvania, this is their seventh year in the parade in a row. they always do a fantastic time and as you can see they got their dancing down, they're doing a little preview for us tonight but again, they're just one of hundreds of acts that will be in the parade tonight.

let's take a look at the forecast 'cause, again, temps are absolutely on par, a little bit above normal here for this time of year. 52 right now in philadelphia, 50 in allentown, 52 millville, 51 in cape may and a little cooler in the poconos at 39 degrees. as we take a look at satellite and radar, all looking good here as well. we've got that high pressure that is coming in from the west so locally we have just a few clouds that have developed at times early on in the day but they're moving on and high pressure coming in for tonight. so, tonight a moonlit sky with temperatures 27 to 34 degrees with a little chill in the air as those winds switch from the northwest to the northeast three to 6 miles an hour. future tracker showing as we get into the day saturday, early in the morning, full sunshine, temperatures right around freezing in allentown 38, philadelphia, 40 millville 41 in dover and in the afternoon, we'll start to see some high clouds coming in but overall it's still a really nice day, 49 philadelphia, 50 millville, 45 allentown and then on sunday, temperatures

visit with santa got to go home of course with a coat and gloves plus a hat and books. wonderful day. well, two local fashion students are still enjoying the limelight after winning a design competition that aired on "action news" during "good morning america." tommy hide bright and cara stevens got to go to jefferson university rather they took on teams from maris college and montclair state university. the goal to completely redesign a wedding dress. they were told to use as much of the original fabric as possible and they were only given a $50 budget to come up with something brand new. this is their final winning creation. the whole experience was more than they could ever have imagined. >> one thing well decided we definitely didn't want to do is have it resemble a wedding dress. we tried to manipulate and change the lace so it didn't look as much of a wedding dress. >> i'm very proud of us. >> yeah. >> very proud of like how hard we worked and that everything really paid off all the hours that we put in to making this.

>> all right. quite original project runway winner leann marshall helped "gma" design this unique challenge. both say the project made them think more about sustainable fashion and they're excited to say a special knowledge their portfolios. nice job. >> nice job. >> in collingswood new jersey middle school students discovered there's a science behind the game of hockey and what better person to teach it than a member of the philadelphia flyers. flyers winger made a special appearance at collingswood middle school for a hands-on learning experience. it was part of the nhl stem based future goals initiative. the program helps students by using the fast paved of hockey as a learning vehicle. it was fun and educational at the same time. >> hershey's newest candy bar in 22 years officially went on sale today. hershey's gold is named for the amber color that comes from its main ingredient

"action news" continues with new information on the love lost lawsuit filed against eagles star fletcher cox. >> plus, the maker of a popular video game is suing a delaware teen for allegedly cheating his way to victory but the boy's mother is not having it. why she claims the company actually violated her son's rights by filing suit. >> and heroism on display. a military veteran turned septa driver dives in front of a bus to protect a toddler. what he says helped him make the save. >> but we begin with the latest on michael flynn. the former national security adviser was the first trump administration official to be charged as part of robert mueller's investigation. >> and the first to plead guilty. the special counsel charged flynn with knowingly lying to the fbi about the nature of his contacts with russian ambassador sergei kislyak.

according to documents, flynn contacted kislyak the same day the obama administration imposed new sanctions on russia for their election meddling. >> the prosecutor represented that flynn was given instructions by the transition team to engage in these conversations with the russians and then debrief them about the bow his conversations after the fact. >> one of the senior transition team officials flynn was communicating with was the president's son-in-law jared kushner. a coast confidante told abc news that flynn felt abandoned by trump in recent weeks and made the decision to make the plea deal within the last 24 hours. he could face up to five years in prison. president trump has yet to respond to the guilty plea or flynn's cooperation with the special counsel. >> we turn now to a septa driver who saved a life while on his route last night. the navy veteran dove in front of a bus to save a toddler and today we got to see that act

of heroism for the first time. "action news" reporter trish hartman talked to the navy veteran today and she's live outside the frankford transportation center with this incredible story t -- wonderful to hear. >> reporter: monica, if you have young kids you know how easily they can slip away from you. well, one septa driver says he was in the right place at the right time to save a toddler who was about to run into oncoming traffic. on november 8th, septa driver bob atrot was driving his normal route with a full bus and was helping a passenger in a wheelchair on the sidewalk at frankford and hellerman. it was around 5:00 p.m. rush hour. >> i heard somebody in the background say, oh, my god. >> surveillance video from inside the bus shows a mother carrying a baby and a stroller with a toddler walking in front of her. the little girl then runs out in front of the bus towards a busy frankford avenue. another camera angle shows him lungeing and diving in front of his bus to stop her. we caught up with him at the frankford transportation center. >> i seen the baby right about

here, i tried grabbing her and i walked around or dove and i jumped, got about right about here and i cradled her right about here. >> he's been on the job for 12 years but before his time at septa he spent four years in the navy as a search and rescue swimmer. >> i think that the training that i had in the military helped me do what i did. >> part of his training was to rescue. if he would have hesitated just for a second the circumstances would have been totally different. >> he says it wasn't just his training but also his two-year-old grandson that made his instincts kick in. >> i was really thinking about my grandson 'cause he was just that age. >> now, he says the mother and child left the scene quickly after this all happened. he didn't even get their names. he says he would love to know how they're doing. he also says that when he got back onto the bus the passengers some of whom witnessed the whole thing clapped and cheered. reporting live in frankford

trish hartman channel6 "action news." rick. >> thank you trish. authorities set down a philadelphia nightclub after a deadly shooting there last month. a 37-year-old man was killed outside of a lounge in hunting park back on november 12th. two others were wounded in the gunfire. that was the third murder outside the club since january of 2015. well, today the department of licenses and inspections said it ordered the lounge to close for violating the terms of its license. police in chester trying to figure out how a dead man wound up on the roof of a home here today. officers were called to the 2300 block of providence avenue just after 10:00 this morning for reports of a man on top of an abandoned residence here. when police arrived they found 33-year-old adam hoffman face down on the roof with his legs hanging off the side. he was pronounced dead at the scene. police say there are no signs of foul play but the investigation is ongoing. anyone with information on his death is asked to contact chester police. >> a former teacher from mercer county is facing a number of charges for

allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old student. alycia reddy was arrested in baltimore maryland today, the alleged incident happened at a park in solebury township last spring. at the time the 28-year-old was employed at the pennington school in pennington, new jersey. solebury police learned of the assault last week. reddy is currently a teacher in maryland. she is awaiting extradition to pennsylvania. part of a home in elsmere, delaware has been condemned following this crash this morning. a car slammed into the porch of the house near clifton and marion avenues about 11:30. new castle county police say the driver was not hurt. it's not clear why the car ran off the road but investigators believe drugs or alcohol may have been a factor. the front porch has been declared unsafe but the home itself is fine. >> a group of student volunteers were on a mission to help homeless pets. today the student run emergency housing unit of philadelphia took a tour of the mount zion united holy church. it's a potential site of a

future shelter where animals would be welcome along with their owners. these volunteers believe about 15 percent of the homeless population has a pet and that a they're trying to raise money to purchase the building that would meet their needs and they started a go fund me page with that goal in mind. >> the tallest under water christmas tree is sparkling tonight after scuba santa paid a visit to the adventure aquarium. scuba santa had on a red wet suit. hi, saint nick. the guests inside enjoyed cookies and milk and sang christmas car rolls while they watched him dive into the "shark tank." >> making waves. >> speaking of santa did you know that u.s.a. today called west chester, pennsylvania, christmas celebration one of the top 10 places in the country to experience the arrival of santa in this u.s. >> that's why our own meteorologist adam joseph is about to mark his 11th year

co-hosting the annual parade. he's live in west chester with another preview for us. hey, adam. >> reporter: yeah, this is a major production here and i love being a part of it every year and it does culminate with santa and mrs. claus with confetti in a huge finale. this parade is going to air right here on channel6 on saturday, december 23rd an hour special at 7:00 p.m. its 6,000 participants come from seven different states but these ladies right here look very statuesque with that alicia vitarelli pose with their hands on their hips. their costumes are very important and i'll tell you why in a little bit. this is the betsy daily school of performing arts from berwyn. take a look at the weekend forecast. it's going to be beautiful. it's beautiful here right now. as we go into the weekend temperatures will be in the 50's. 51 on saturday, 55 on sunday, so seasonable to start. and as we get to the second half of the weekend it turns much milder with a high of 55 degrees and these ladies

we encourage that in fact. let's try to help you do that. this crash is really problematic particular this evening, rick and monica, because this is the route to west chester. this is route 100 southbound side. we know so many of you are headed down there this evening for the big christmas parade and the jingle elf run that's going on going to see adam. 100 southbound a mess right now because of this messy accident with the vehicle facing sideways in the southbound lanes approaching phoenixville pike. really slow speeds as you come southbound away from the 30 bypass like 9 miles per hour so 100, cross it off your list as you're trying to head to west chester for the big parade. you might want to go in via 322 or paoli pike from the east side but 100 southbound is a mess right now on the way to west chester. once you get into town of course a bunch of streets are blocked off because of the events there tonight and they'll be blocked off most of the evening. also a busy night in bucks county, check out all these crashes in middletown township this one along business one lincoln highway right by 95. bristol township have one

>> ♪ >> time to check in with adam joseph again at the west chester christmas parade always so much fun this time of year. >> a fun evening and the weather is holding up, too, adam. >> there we go. a little bit of choreography. join in adam. >> ♪ >> reporter: yeah, i'm going to leave it to these very nice young ladies to do this performance for you. they're from the betsy daily school of performing arts in berwyn, pennsylvania. they range in age of eight the youngest which is this little girl right up front here, she looked like a doll. she's the star of the show. up to 18 years old. there's 10 of them that are 18 and the senior of the group is this lady right here. and i tell you, these costumes todd was telling me the gentleman who we just spoke with who actually produces this parade, the costumes that the betsy daily school of performing arts wears every

year, this is the costume that will be in the finale with santa next year. he says they are just fabulous and he enjoys having them every single year. i tell you, they've actually won over the last 42 years numerous dance competitions both regionally and nationally and you can see why. take a look at the temps. it is beautiful here. most years the performers are always shivering and shaking because those temps are typically in the 20's and 30's. 52 right now in philadelphia, 50 in allentown, 51 in wilmington, 51 degrees in cape may and here in west chester we're right around 50 degrees. as we look at satellite and radar, the tri-state here and high pressure to the west in the ohio valley, all is looking good. we've had some high clouds during the day today but overall this high is going to be our muscle maker this weekend. so, a moonlit sky overnight tonight with a chill in the air. yes, there is a full moon and i see it breaking just above some of the buildings here in west chester. 27 to 34 degrees for that

overnight low. tomorrow we'll have high clouds around especially in the afternoon but really a nice seasonable day. 50 degrees in trenton, 50 in toms river, 49 allentown, 52 millville, 52 in dover. but there's a major shift coming in with our weather pattern. the jet stream is cutting way to our north and west over the great lakes right into the weekend early next week so it stays unseasonably mild, but this system is going to break down. that jet stream crashes down in the midatlantic to down to the deep south and that's going to usher in some very cold air below average temperatures as we get into the end of next week but especially as we go into next weekend and there you can see old man winter, yes, he is going to chill us down. as we take a look at the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast here, sunshine, high clouds, 51 degrees for our saturday. 55 on sunday. very nice for december. partly sunny on monday, 55 degrees. mild showers developing 63 on

tuesday. rain and the temps will start falling in the afternoon on wednesday, 56. and then on thursday brisk chilly 43 degrees. that's when we see that pattern changing and then on friday, the cold really starts to settle in, down to 42 and we could only be in the 30's for highs as we get into next weekend. be a santa, that is what they are dancing to here tonight and again, 6,000 participants in this parade this year. the parade is almost an hour and half long and if you want to come down it starts at 7:15. come early. 40,000 people line the streets of market and gay streets and there's a lot more to do here aside from the parade so you definitely want to check it out. you don't want to see me dance. take a look at these beautiful young ladies and again we'll have more performers coming up in the 5 o'clock hour but i also want to turn the camera around because they do have quite the showing of people here as well.
