state lines for the purposes of sex. three people are hurt after a car and school bus collided in the juniata section of philadelphia. chopper6 was over the scene along east wyoming street near tacony creek park. a 15-year-old student the bus driver and bus attendant were all rushed to the hospital. the driver of the car was not injured. >> four teenagers are awaiting trial in the 2016 fatal shooting of a 19-year-old bucks county man and today a judge decided to charge one of the suspects as a juvenile instead of an adult in the case. lewis was shot and killed at a park in perkasie on october 2016. he was a graduate of penn ridge high school where he played football. police say the teens charged in his death were trying to rob him and that led to a shooting. lewis' mom talked with us outside the courthouse in doylestown today where the suspects had preliminary hearings. >> i just want justice for my son. he was a good kid. and he didn't deserve this. >> no word yet on trial dates for the suspects.

>> philadelphia police want you to take a look at this surveillance video of two armed robbers in the city's west oak lane section. the suspects walked into pretty boys barbershop in the 6300 block of ogontz avenue november 21st. they were both wearing masks during that time they demanded money from the owner and a customer. they got about $200 before they ran off. >> all right. turning to our weather now, the first friday of december, a pretty nice way to end the work week. the weekend looking pretty good as well. meteorologist cecily tynan is at the "action news" big board with the latest from accuweather. hey, cecily. >> hi, rick. not a bad start to the month of december. good amount of sunshine yesterday, good amount today. we also had some showers last night with a cold front. didn't knock down temperatures too much. reached a high of 52 degrees. currently 50 degrees. we have high pressure building in from the west. satellite and radar showing we've got pretty much clear skies this evening and that will be the case right through the night so if you're heading out tonight on this friday night, you do want to take a

new york with the details. >> reporter: rick it seems like senate republicans finally have enough votes to push their tax bill through the senate and as we speak right now they're bringing their bill to a vote. senate republicans are closing in on a victory. >> the fact that we would be sitting here talking about even the possibility of a unanimous vote we're close. >> reporter: after intense back and forth negotiations all week, the party lawmakers appeared to have a deal. hovering buffer the 50 votes needed to pass the gop's new tax plan without anyways from the democrats. >> i believe it will help the economy. i think it's going to help a lot of working people. most people are going to benefit from it perhaps not everybody but most people. >> reporter: dubbed the tax cuts and jobs act the plan includes a huge tax cut for big corporations. republicans say the benefits will trickle down and ultimately help the middle class. but democrats are loudly objecting. >> they said it was going to lower taxes for the middle class.

people who are still surviving and those working to end the stigma about aids. here are some important facts about hiv/aids you may not know. right now there are 1.2 million americans living with hiv. what's more startling, 13 percent of folks don't know they're infected. it costs $380,000 to treat hiv over a lifetime. 675,000 people in the u.s. have died of aids since the beginning of the epidemic in the early 1980's. now, tomorrow aids delaware is offering free hiv tests at its office on west tenth street in wilmington. the tests will be available from 9:30 until 11:30 and you can make an appointment or just walk in. there will its be a youth and family forum at delaware technical community college george campus from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. there are now new guidelines for pennsylvania doctors to follow when bribing opioids for pediatric and adolescent patients. members of governor tom wolf's administration and doctors

gathered at children's hospital of philadelphia today to make that announcement. there are 10 guidelines in all, one is that opioids should be reserved for patients with moderate to severe pain. >> these guidelines will help ensure that the sickest children will still have access to these important medications but also allows doctors to feel comfortable safeguarding patients when opioids should not be an option and are no longer needed. >> also included in the new guidelines there's an offering of online resources for parents to help them talk to their kids about drug addiction. it is called the parent talk kit.

today they and now today they celebrated with their shaveoff. they grew outer their beards in cancer awareness. the salon and barbershop provided free shaves to the officers. >> volunteers in levittown are busy getting ready to help the homeless this winter. they moved 55 cots sleeping bags, pillows and warm winter clothing into a basement at emmaus road lutheran church today. that area will serve as a shelter on cold nights when temperatures plummet to 26 degrees or below. the group advocates for the homeless and those in need. it will drive around lower bucks county and actually pick up folks who need to get out of the elements between now and march 31st. some deserving dogs and cats in wilmington are feeling good for the holidays. these adorable animals wore their best sweaters and had a low cost veterinary checkup at a clinic at the faithful friends animal society today. the drive site just opened.

hate. >> after the verdict president trump tweeted saying the verdict was a disgrace and a travesty of justice. federal immigration officials say they will now deport garcia zarate. >> a new report finds a law enforcement failed during last summer's violent white nationalist rally in charlottesville, virginia. the investigation conducted by a former u.s. attorney found that the police response led to a deep distrust of government in the charlottesville community. part of the problem according to the report was that the city did not adequately communicate or coordinate in advance. one woman was killed during the rally when a car plowed into a group of counterprotesters. >> as the holiday season gets under way there is a warning tonight about a phone scam. thieves try and exploit a grandparent's love and concern for their grandchildren and our troubleshooter nydia han has what you need to know. >> reporter: this is a sophisticated scam that seniors need to be aware of. and it's hard to get victims to come forward so we are really grateful to this local

granddad and the bucks county consumer affairs office for helping us warn others. >> (ringing). >> reporter: 9:00 a.m. when dr. stanley peters in doylestown bucks county received a call from someone claiming to be his granddaughter saying she had had a run in with an unreasonable police officer. >> well i'm going to put you in jail for a week because you're not supposed to drive with cell phones. >> reporter: dr. peters was told to help his granddaughter avoid jail he needed to get cash from the bank by gift cards and pass along the numbers to law enforcement. >> the people in target came up, some of the young girls and said don't do that. >> reporter: but this concerned grandfather bought the cards anyway. $4,000 worth. then a friend told him he had been scammed. >> everything that i shouldn't have done i did. >> reporter: dr. peters was told not to contact his granddaughter's parents or local police. but after talking to his friends he did call the doylestown township police department. >> unfortunately one of the cards had already been used but we were able to save $2,000 for mr. peters.

we got half his money back. >> reporter: officer sean mcgee says far too often these stories do not have a happy ending. it's estimated scammers rob senior citizens of about $3 billion a year in financial scams. there are a number of red flags to watch out for. >> any federal agency is not going to keep you on the phone, they're going to allow you to call back, they're going give you a contact number, they're going to give you a claim number or some form of reference number to reference this again. >> reporter: and a legitimate agency will never tell you not to contact your loved ones or police. >> the other big flag for people is that none of these agencies take gift cards as compensation. >> reporter: we have contact information on agencies with whom you should report scams like this on 6abc.com. i'm nydia han channel6 "action news". >> fire service paramedic trainees completed their six week training program today. in northeast philadelphia they had a graduation ceremony. nearly two dozen cadets in the 34th graduating class got their diplomas. also during the graduation the

brake lights lighting up. southbound side of 100 still jammed solid even though that crash that we had earlier by phoenixville pike is gone. 202 southbound seeing delays joining up with 100 headed towards west chester. in town we have a ton of different street closures as we get ready for the big parade. northbound 202 slowing as well. a lot of people heading to west chester for the festivities this evening. some other people heading to south philadelphia to see jay-z in concert so 95 northbound is busy at the girard point double decker bridge and on the schuylkill traveling eastbound it's extra busy, that 45 minute travel time is about three times what it should be but this situation is on the westbound side of the schuylkill approaching lincoln drive and kelly drive, broken down bus taking out one of the two lanes so it is extra heavy coming west of montgomery drive. and in delaware we've been trying all afternoon to recover from an earlier closure of 495 northbound. that crash is gone but now in the backlog there's another one on 95 and northbound right by christiana. so, speeds in the 20's coming north of newark.
