"action news" reporter bob brooks is live at the scene in the 2900 block of state road. bob, what's the latest there? >> reporter: well, jim, we're told by those who knew the man who was hit and killed that he was simply walking to work this morning, that he took this route for more than 20 years. imagine that. now behind me here you can see the spot where it happened just across the road from where we are at at the swamp police say the suspect ran into and escaped, jim, he's still on the loose tonight. what you're seeing is the aftermath from chopper6. a man was walking to work like he did every day down state road in croydon. police say he was hit by this white near 2000 ford focus. the pedestrian is dead. >> that's tom culkin of the rail way specialties corporation. he says the man who was killed was an employee. >> it was a good samaritan from the traffic got out of his car and ran down and got a blanket for him and we were

talking to him, said the ambulance is on it's way it's going to be okay. >> reporter: unfortunately police say the victim would pass away shortly at the hospital. we're not naming the victim until police release his identity. at this point the driver of the car is still on the loose. investigators say after the suspect went into the ditch the driver took off on foot through the swamp and escaped. you can see the area where they took off to from footage from drone6. police say the driver of the car is likely not the own he were. culkin says it's been a rough year for his business. back in march their building was burned in a fire. despite working out of a shed for most of the year the employee who was killed stuck by their side. >> we're going to miss a great guy. we're going to miss a great employee. >> reporter: and another live look out here at the swamp. somewhere out there police say the suspect is still on the loose. the agency investigating this is the bristol township police. if anyone out there knows anything about this, give them a call. for now reporting live in

croydon bob brooks channel6 "action news." >> three philadelphia teens are charged with murder in connection with a deadly beating in mayfair. 14-year-old brandon conrad 17-year-old emanuel harris and 16-year-old malik page are also facing counts of robbery. police say the teens killed 57-year-old kevin cullen, that during a robbery attempt back on november 25th. all three defendants are charged -- are students at lincoln high school. a temple university student is still in the hospital tonight, that after being attacked at 3 a.m. sunday morning at 17th and norris. "action news" reporter chad pradelli is live at hahnemann hospital where 20-year-old tanner goodechuck is being treated for his injuries. >> reporter: he suffered serious head injuries. he remains at hahnemann hospital as police move in on

a suspect. tanner has a fractured skull bleeding on the brain and a busted ear drum after being attacked early sunday morning here at 17th and norris. the phone rang at 4:00 a.m. at his parents' home in pottsville. >> i got a call from the nurse saying that i'm calling to update you on tanner's condition at hahnemann hospital. i just panicked. you know, you're just in chock. >> reporter: police say the temple sophomore was walking two female students home when i was attacked from behind. >> it looks like our offender attempted to pick a fight with our victim and during the course of that he grabbed him around his throat and threw him to the ground. >> he's a hundred 40 pounds soaking wet. you know, he's not a fighter. he's a basketball player. he likes to play basketball. you know, he's just a friendly kid and he was in the prong place at the wrong time. >> reporter: they say their son remembers nothing of the attack. "action news" has learned the suspect is a high school senior at an archdiocesan high

school and an accomplished wrestler. we're not naming the 18-year-old because he hasn't been formally charged but police expect to make an arrest quickly. >> i just hope he learns his lesson. i just hope that there's -- you know, there's lessons in life for everybody and, you know, i know he's young and you do stupid things but you have to be accountable. >> reporter: and the parents tell me it appears that their son is going to be okay, but they still are waiting some additional tests. i'm live in center city, chad pradelli channel6 "action news." jim. >> thank you chad. a philadelphia judge has ordered meek mill to stay in prison. the judge said the rapper is a danger to the community and she denied his motion for bail. last month mill was sentenced to two to four years for violating probation on a gun and drug case from 2007. both his probation officer and a prosecutor had recommended no jail time and his imprisonment has sparked a big public backlash from his

supporters. mill's attorneys say they are disappointed with the judge's decision. they will appeal. they've also asked the judge to recuse herself from the case. the eagles winning streak is over snapped by those seattle seahawks and quarterback russell wilson and last night's game i think is an example of why home field in the playoffs is so important 'cause beating a playoff quality team in their building is just tough to do. >> that's why you need to get that number one seed. the seahawks own the league's best home record since 2002. they win more than 70 percent of their games at home. the eagles have been pretty good on the road this season but they made too many mistakes last night. carson wentz he has been fairly careful with the ball this season. he had a costly fumble in the third quarter. with the birds just feet from scoring a touchdown instead of tying up the game seattle took over. doug pederson did not challenge this play in the fourth quarter, the nfl confirmed today that russell wilson's lateral was in fact a forward pass.

night. obviously it didn't. right now online you can read more about the special cleats the birds were wearing during the game last night. you can also see more stories about the players both on and off the field. the u.s. supreme court is hearing a case centered around betting on sports. new jersey governor chris christie is challenging a federal law that bans most states from allowing that form of gambling. of course sports betting could bring more revenue to new jersey. all four major sports leagues are against lifting the ban. they say it would hurt the integrity of their games. a decision is expected by the end of june. police are now questioning a woman in connection with a fatal stabbing in south philadelphia. a 65-year-old man was found dead inside his bedroom on the 1200 block of south johnson street at 1:00 a.m. "action news" has learned that charges are pending against the woman who is now in custody. there is a new social media campaign aimed at solving cold cases.

>> chopper6 was over the scene in radnor township after a box truck drove into a railroad overpass. the entire top of the truck was ripped off when it struck the bridge around noon today on king of prussia road. the driver was not seriously hurt. three men on the run after they robbed a pizza delivery man at gunpoint in northeast philadelphia. it happened at midnight on the papa johns. the three masked men stole $130 from victim and fled the scene. bulletproof glass partitions at stop and go convenience marts in philadelphia will stay at least for now. late today city council decided to remove part of a controversial bill that would have forced store owners to take those barriers down. elsewhere around the league the giants are a mess. after their loss to oakland yesterday head coach ben mcadoo said he would keep coming to work as long as his keycard kept working. ownership fixed that problem today. mcadoo was fired shy of two seasons on the job. general manager jerry reese is out too. the giants are in the midst of a two and 10 season. a former eagles assistant tokes over as interim head coach. the sixers sitting at four games above .500. they have been playing well lately despite a tough schedule. they'll entertain the phoenix suns tonight. ben simmons has been fighting the flu the past few days but coach says he'll still play. >> ben came in yesterday said the treatment yesterday was in the bed most of today and will suit up and i will start him. out of kindness i've decided to still start him and we'll see how that goes. >> plenty of fluids.

afternoon. a lot of sunshine. the front end of the day the clouds increased this afternoon presently right now and they'll continue to thicken and lower overnight tonight as we take a look at those headlines. starts to turn damp especially tomorrow afternoon tomorrow evening and tomorrow night. that's when the heaviest and steadiest slug of rain arrives. could be some spitting showers through most of our tuesday morning as well. and then it's dry the rest of the week. wednesday, thursday, going into friday. but over the upcoming weekend that is when the winter chill will slam in here from canada and we get a little taste of what the middle of winter should feel like. as we look at 47 degrees right now in allentown, trenton, 46 in reading, 49 in philadelphia. 47 in atlantic city. 51 in beach haven and these numbers now that the clouds are here acting as a blanket aren't going to drop all that much further overnight tonight plus with the southwesterly wind it's going to hold in some of the warmth. as we look at satellite and radar we have a storm that is winding up right now in the northern plains. bringing a couple of different

sides to the storm. you're starting to see boxes pop up missouri oklahoma watch box on the east part of the system to the north and west you do see some snow breaking out eastern dakotas where there's blizzard warnings. so, for tonight cloudy mild some patchy fog developing 40 in the suburbs, 46 degrees for center city. as we look at future tracker six:30 tomorrow morning the clouds are here. could be some mist or drizzle around but no steady rain fall. that continues into the lunchtime hour, even early afternoon, 1:00 p.m. it's really hit or miss with some of those very light showers around. much of the time it is dry. but there is the steady rain with the front, starts to collapse into philadelphia by about 5:00, 5:30 in the evening so a wet evening rush hour especially to the north and west. then that pushes into south jersey during the overnight hours but by the time we wake up wednesday morning, the rain

is off the coast. the clouds even starting to clear to the north and west looking at about a quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain with this system and as we take a look at philadelphia specifically here for tuesday into tuesday night about a half inch showing on the euro. pretty close to that for the g fs the nam and the rpm. a big soaking as the front barrels through. 63 is the high. a warm surge here. then chilly winds come in behind it tuesday night into wednesday. wednesday it is a breezy day, a high temperature collapsing down to 48 degrees and then the real cold comes in for the weekend. december 4th it is very mild right now ahead of that system but after it departs all that cold air comes in from the great lakes through the midatlantic into new england. this is coming up this weekend here on december 10th, which is sunday afternoon, so a cold one on tap and in fact as we take a look at that exclusive accuweather 7-day, 63, breezy
