will allow, is action news reporter christie ileto. christie, can you describe the situation there? >> reporter: jim, it's been about four hours since this bristol neighborhood has been put on lockdown along with three area schools as authorities negotiate with a man they believe is armed at a home about a block away from where we're standing. u.s. marshalls contacted them this morning believing that a man who is can'ted as a person of interest was in the area. >> the officers responded there today when they pulled up to set up a perimeter around the house waiting for additional assistance, a vehicle was leaving the back of the house. now we are dealing with a situation where the man is in this residents believed to be armed and we're trying to do everything we can to get him out to resolve the situation peacefully and we're hoping that's the way it does resolve.

>> reporter: again, authorities believe that napoli is armed inside the home. officers from various departments and s.w.a.t. teams are also on scene. authorities have also confirmed that the suspect is what they're calling a person of interest in a deadly hit-and-run that happened in croydon on monday. the driver reportedly hit a 47-year-old man on the 2900 block of state road. his car crashed into a ditch and he fled on foot. back out here live at the scene here in bristol you can see that it is still blocked off. we are about two blocks from the actual scene itself. we also know that police did arrest a man in connection with this incident. apparently he tried to fight when they were trying to make contact with the first suspect. he was taken into custody. we are also told that schools are slowly dismissing children.

authorities are out here trying to negotiate with this man as they prepare. >> thank you, christie. thank you. a 74-year-old pastor has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting minors. the suspect is harry thomas, pastor of the come alive church in medford township. action news reporter wendy saltzman is live at that church. wendy, officials are saying thomas's crimes happened over a period of 16 years. >> reporter: that's right, jim. and pastor harry thomas is suspended indefinitelily that's according to church officials who took swift actions amid these sex abuse allegation. >> the elders and trustees of come alive new testament church have indefinitely suspended pastor harry thomas from all leadership position. >> there were few words said today by church elders who have been thrown into the headlines, their pastor locked up accused

of sexually assaulting four minors over a period of 16 years. >> leadership has determined this to be the proper course of action at this time until there can be a full investigation. >> reporter: pastor harry thomas is the head of come alive church and the founder of the creation festival which was started in 1979. >> a burden for you and my burden for youth started to really come to the forefront. >> reporter: he's showed here in an interview on youtube where he talked about his passion for teaching kids. >> i had this very quick vision of thousands of kids on a hillside. >> reporter: the police arrested a 74-year-old and charged him with aggravated sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault and four counts of endangering the welfare of children. they say the abuse started in 1999 and ended just two years ago. information about the victims is being withheld to protect their identities. >> i can't believe it. >> reporter: medford diner owner

unresponsive back in april. investigators have determined she died of intoxication from an ant psychotic drug. he had the prescription. a hair sample revealed the girl had been ingesting the drug for at least 30 days before she died. senator al franken has announced his plan to resign amid allegations of sexual misconduct from eight women. he revealed his reluctant decision in front of his colleagues today on the senate floor. >> there is a big part of me that will always regret having to walk away from this job with so much work left to be done. >> reporter: franken stopped short of apologizing and insisted that some of the accusations against him are simply not true. he said his resignation will happen sometime in the coming weeks but he didn't give an exact date. colder weather moving in. there is a distinct possibility that we could see our first

snowflakes of the season on saturday. let's check in with meteorologist cecily tynan. cecily, you've got this devastating news from accuweather. >> it's great news, jim. we're talking about the first snow of the season. put you in the holiday spirit, happening on a saturday so it won't really mess up any schools and this is the moisture that's gathering to the south. you can see kind of this elongated area of moisture. if you look across parts of texas, even parts of mexico, the snow is beginning to break out there and there's plenty of cold air. today temperatures in the 40s but out to our west only in the 20s in the next three days we will be stuck in the 30s. so we've got the cold air, the moisture will begin to stream up from the south. future tracker showing tomorrow it's cloudy here. you can see the northern edge of that stream of moisture bringing some snow even to atlanta. it moves here even on saturday and like yesterday it looks like the snow will extend north and west of the i-95 corridor.

first snow of the season, an accuweather alert for saturday. i-95 and areas will likely see grassy accumulation. main roads just wet but they could get icy on untreated roads on saturday night. i'll talk about that in the 7-day forecast. jim? >> all right, cecily. what was that fireball seen streaming across the sky last saturday? this is dash cam video from a hamilton township police officer. it was a green flash of lime light. redundant, yes. but also. >> reporter: they posted this video to social media today and it's been viewed thousands of times. it also turns out that the sergeant who captured this video on his dash cam wasn't the only one to witness this celestial sight. so what was it exactly?

we asked an expert. the video lasts just seconds. the white light rips across the sky. >> i was on regular patrol driving through our neighborhoods and i saw the straek of light through the sky. >> reporter: the sergeant of the hamilton township atlantic county police officer department was out on patrol just after 3:00 saturday morning. he was driving near the airport when he saw the bolt of light. >> i was surprised to see what i was seeing so i knew i had the mobile camera. >> reporter: his dash cam captured the event. today the department posted the video to social media sites and those videos are going viral sfwl we researched a little further and we contacted the american meteor society and they had reports of similar activity around the same time. >> reporter: he created a tracking tool for the american meteor society. we spoke to him via face time

this afternoon. >> it was definitely a bright fireball. the brighter they are, the less common they are. >> reporter: more than 133 people in multiple states registered sightings of this particular fireball. the term for a very bright meteor. >> this was a bright one. it was probably as bright as the moon, maybe three-quarter full moon. so i'm not exactly sure how big the fragment would have been but probably like a baseball-sized fragment or maybe a little bigger. >> reporter: the experts think the debris that may have caused this fireball could be the start of the geminid meteor shower that peaks on december 13th. there have been other recent sightings of fireballs in this region as of late. the sightings are also becoming more and more common because more people have home surveillance systems, home surveillance cameras and more

saturday the moisture will meet the cold air. 7:30 in the morning we've got light snow close to philadelphia, most of the action across south jersey and delaware. the actual coastal storm stays offshore but it has a really wide precipitation field. by the afternoon it's snowing across our entire viewing area. it retreats by saturday night, colder air moves in on sunday. so what are we talking about as far as accumulation? this is not a big event. just a coating to an inch along grassy surfaces, then we get across south jersey and delaware closer to the center of the storm and we're looking at 1-3 inches of slushy accumulation from williams town areas to the east also south of smyrna. untreated surfaces could get slippery. it's cloudy, it's chilly tomorrow. 39 degrees. saturday that touch of snow, 36. sunday the high 39, but wind
