loss. quarterback carson wentz goes down with an injury. sunday night, and the big story on action news tonight is the question surrounding the severity of that injury to the eagle's star quarterback. i'm sarah bloomquist. >> i'm rick williams in for walter perez. wentz injured his knee going for a touchdown. jamie apody is in the studio with the latest. >> and, jaime, the eagles should be celebrating tonight. >> who would have thought that the clinching of the division and the first trip to the playoffs would be this depressioning. they are worried wentz tore his left acl. if his season is over, many fear the eagle's super bowl chances would be too. the eagles down four late in the third quarter. wentz running it in for the touchdown. that score was later called back because of a hold. but wentz was sandwiched on the play and came up limping. he stayed in the game for a few more plays and threw a touchdown pass. his 33rd.

broke the eagle's franchise record for touchdowns in a season. after that, wentz was taken to the locker room and quickly ruled out for the game. his knee seen buckling a bit as he walked off. none of that is a very good sign. jeff skversky live in los angeles. what is the word out there on wentz? >> reporter: jaime, carson wentz's eagles teammates are concerned that their mvp-caliber quarterback could be lost for the season with what the team is fearing could be a torn acl in the left knee that he suffered in the third quarter. eagle's head coach doug pederson didn't want to speculate in the mri tomorrow in philadelphia. take a look at carson wentz being carted out of the staled yum at the l.a. coliseum with a brace on the left knee. wentz did not want to speak to the reporters about the injury or the eagles clinching the

with the very latest. annie. >> reporter: and, rick, i want to give you a look behind me at the heavy presence that still remains out here. the people out of their homes in this cold weather are inside of that management office you see right there getting assistance from the red cross. we are told one police officer was injured after running in to help people in the fire. now, take a look at this video. we're told that crews arrived here a little bit after 8:30 to heavy flames from the building. two apartments were affected. 21 people, including nine children, are out of their homes and getting assistance from the red cross. now, more than 60 people were part of those emergency crews responding to the fire. these are the lake view apartments in blackwood, camden county, new jersey, along the 500 block of lower landing road. now with the mayor and the police chief of the township gave us an update on the injured officer a short time ago. and we spoke to a woman who was across the street from the fire

during the blaze and she described how intense it was. >> and first arriving officers did have folks trapped on the balcony. this one officer suffered a minor burn injury was attempting to make entry into the apartment to help those folks on the balcony and suffered a burn injury to his hand. >> i was at my mom's house celebrating her birthday. and out on the balcony -- the building was in flames. heard somebody screaming, i guess trying to get everybody out of the building. and we could feel the heat from my mom's window. >> reporter: and luckily because of that quick response, nobody, no residents, were injured. now, there was a fire at the same apartment complex in january that was a three-alarm blaze. of course, it will still take some time to figure out what the cause is of this blaze. it's all, of course, just unfolding over the past couple of hours good news is the police chief feels that the 21 people that are out of their

head-on collision in garnet county, delaware county. it was about 7:00. police on the scene tell us that the four nuns and the driver of the other vehicle are all hospitalized. their conditions have not yet been released. police are investigating the deadly result of what may have been a deliberate act to put a woman in harm's way. police say a woman in her 30s was pushed out of a pickup truck and hit by another car in philadelphia's kensington section. it was on the 300 block and neither driver stopped. they are looking for an older model f-150 and a black dodge challenger. a beloved man known to many in north hampton county is in need of help himself after a morning fire. and weather conditions causing problems for the hundreds of fire fighters still battling flames in california. and continuing coverage of carson wentz wentz's injury when action news comes right bk.

a community is calling on residents to help out santa. a fire fighter who plays santa is the owner of one of the homes destroyed by fire. it was on the 1500 block of washington street in wilson borough, north hampton, county. he was supposed to deliver presents for the santa delivers organization. now he and his wife are in need of helps themselves tonight. the boys latin school community gathered on campus to mourn the recent murder of one of their own. students and staff members paid respects to 18-year-old patton. he was gunned down in his sister's apartment during the thanksgiving break. he was remembered as a compassionate young man who was a scholar and an athlete who had several college acceptance offers. one edge of southern

california's biggest wildfire flared up this morning, causing even more evacuations. the fire is now close to santa barbara county beach towns and the home of countless celebrities, including oprah winfrey. unpredictable wind gusts are driving the blaze deeper into the residential foothill areas. officials are concerned about the smoke, close to toxic levels. overall the fires have destroyed over 800 buildings and burned more than 270 square miles. well, the bitter senate race in alabama is down to the final days. supporters of embattled republican roy moore campaigned door-to-door in birmingham today. he will rally tomorrow evening with former trump strategist, steve bannon and sent out a call from president trump. and doug jones says he believes the women accusing moore of improper sexual advances. namon,
