plea for finding a missing man suffering from dementia. this is francisco martinez. he lost a significant amount of weight since the photo was taken and last seen by his wife at midnight on providence road and sea cane. marstein ez was wearing only pajama pants and a shirt when last seen. he suffers from dementia. if you see him police want to hear from you. turning to the weather. we started the day off with snow and then the sun came out and it did not do much to warm things up. meteorologist, cecily tynan, here now with the latest on the "action news" big board. >> am tracking more snow for parts of our region tomorrow. last night we got a coating to 2 inches. philadelphia 1.4 inches, if you look at decembers over the past years, we are doing pretty yes well for snow lovers,

time we have the southbound lanes completely blocked northbound the right lane seeing by and steer clear at 202 at hancock. and use blue bell pike as another alternate. on the turnpike on the eastbound side. one cleared between valley forge and norristown and speeds in the teens in the normally busy spot and the other one by fort washington squeezing by and pace through willow grove, not unbearable at this point. 401 is closed all afternoon because of a crash with a dump truck and stay on horseshoe trail to get around the 401 blockage and nottingham fire company a crash. and on the big picture slow speeds on the blue route, the schuylkill and 95 ain crash along bear boulevard at the aid mrial wilson and one in pennsauken jamming things up.

the united states is accusing iran of violating the interest national nuclear deal. nikki haley ambassador to the united nations made the announcement while standing with piled of evidence. beside her were piles of weapons debris including a piece of ballistic missile and accuses the international community of looking the other way. >> this evidence is part of what led the u.s. intelligence community to conclude un -- that they were u.s. plied by the regime. the evidence is undeniable and may have had made in iran stickers all over it. they are accused of giving the missiles to yemen and some were launched in saudi arabia and iran calls the allegations

baseless. the number of teenagers using drugs is lower than it has been in decades and fewer smoking cigarettes as well. but there are new concerns tonight. ali gorman joins us more with the details on all of this. >> this is coming from a survey called monitoring the future. researchers have followed tens of thousands of teenagers every year since 1991. and the good news as you said fewer teenagers are smoking cigarettes and the survey shows an all-time low for teenagers abusing prescription pain killers such as vicodin. that is great news but marijuana remains a concern and so does vaping a fast uptake of teens using vaping devices or electronic cigarettes. they say if they are using nicotine it's an addictive drug and there is some evidence showing teens that vape are more likely to transition to smoking

tobacco cigarettes. exercise is good for many ailments and especially helpful for people with parkinson's disease, and it's a neurological disorder that gets worse overtime and intense exercise may slow the progression of the disease and high intensity rather than moderate exercise brings blood flow to the brain and setting up to do a large study to see if intense exercise is prescribed as early treatment for park sin sons. and a study out of canada shows the possible positive impact of having family meals. researchers followed 1500 kids at age 6 and found those that have meals as a family and encourage conversation with limited conflict are more physically fit and well adjusted by able 10, whether it's the meals together or a strong family bond that creates an

philadelphia zoo. the guest of honor was coldy locks the oldest bear in the country. she turned 39 years old and visitor said happy bear day. she arrived at the philadelphia zoo when she was one years old. she was one of the most important animal ambassadors at the zoo and helped to educate visitors about climate change and the declining polar bear population in north america. and a warm welcome in ten saucon and plenty of goodwill to go around and each of the 95 clients able to attend were given a feast and plenty of dancing. ♪

lake is frozen and fresh coating of snow on the ground and blue skies and sunshine this afternoon and not nearly as harsh as yesterday. wind gusts in the 40 miles per hour and windchills stuck in the teens. and the winds are dying down any where from 3 miles per hour in millville. to about 14 miles per hour in atlantic city. it's still breezy in areas but the winds continue to die down as we head through the night. if you step out tonight. there is still a windchill factor feeling like 23 in philadelphia and 17 in allentown and 25 in cape may. certainly not a warm night but not nearly as cold and not nearly as windy as last night. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the clouds broke and saw the fine today and if you look to the west more clouds are beginning to stream in. if you want to see the meet or you're shower, it peaked and you should see it the first half of

"action news" continues with meteorologist, adam joseph, jaime apody, rick williams and monica malpass. hello again monica is off and sharrie williams is joining us tonight. here is what is happening on "action news" thursday evening. congress is doing last min wrangling on a bill that could have an impact on your paycheck. >> also, the naacp issued a new advisory for a popular airline as the new travel season gets underway why they say people should be cautious flying on american. and a bucks county man gets national recognition for his amazing holiday lights display. and a tax plan showdown is shaping up in washington, d.c. this week. republicans continue to push for a final vote trying to hand president trump his first major legislative win before christmas. elizabeth is in new york with more.

republicans forming ahead touting their tax deal say win for taxpayers. >> this tax cut means less going to washington and more to the hard working person that earned it. that is the whole purpose of this bill. the lawmaker as agreeing to the the following changes, the top tax rate drops from 39% to 27% for the wealthy americans and the corporate tax from 35 to 21% and mortgage is catched at $750,000. and for the middle class the bill will likely expand the child tax credit and double the standard deduction. >> this relief gives people a simpler system and fairer tax code. this is what it accomplishes. >> and critics say that is benefits the wealthy the most. >> behind closed door and they

made a bad bill even worse. >> and the gop tax scam becomes more cowardly season outrageous and dishonest and sad for middle class families and republicans are overturning a key commponen of obama care and could leave 13 more americans uninsured over the next 10 years. senate republicans can only afford to lose two votes and senator corker and rubio say they are not on board. even still gop and white house officials say they remain optimistic. the philadelphia naacp is issuing what they call a travel advisory urging people to avoid american airlines, that a lawsuit is filed against the airline alleging apparent discrimination of people of color.

officials held a press cons detailing the complaints. and say that african-american employees are the targets of racism and discriminatory practices. >> my clients and most of the workers are african-americans there and if they stand up and complain they receive retaliation at the workplace. >> which is? >> anything from being terminated to being threatened. >> american airlines says they met twice with naacp leaders and other civil rights officials and taking steps to make it a more diverse company including bias training and oversight of discrimination claims. and another professional career has sended. this time republican representative from texas. he will not seek re-election next year and is under pressure over sexual misconduct

allegations that first surfaced three years ago that is when a former aide sued him saying that sexually suggestive comments and behavior and in the past week three members of congress resigned in the wake of sexual harassment accusations as well. >> and tavis smiling is vowing to fight back after accusations of sexual misconduct and after an investigation they found credible accusations. and he says that it's relationship uncovered was convention you'll. but they say it was a pattern of relationships with subordinates over many years. >> and former senate candidate roy moore says he is not going down without a fight. the republican told supporters he is refusing to concede the election and faced multiple accusations of sexual

misconopportunity with girls and denies the allegations and now denying he lost the race to democrat doug jones. >> and the battle rages on in this race we have not received the final count to include military and provisional ballots. and this has been a close race and waiting for certification by the secretary of state. >> moore went on to continue his campaign rhetoric saying that abortion and sodomy and materialism took the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and he was the first republican candidate defeated in the state since 1992. and two were hit in the chest but because of protective vests they are doing just fine. this happened when the officers tried to take a suspect in custody and he resisted and officers tried to tase him and the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire, both officers were hit right in their bulletproof vests. they were checked out at local

hospitals and then released. the suspect was taken into custody late this afternoon after a standoff. several massive wild fires continue to burn in southern california. officials met to boost safety rules in fire zones. the new rules require utility companies to keep branches away from power lines and require newly installed lines to be placed farther apart and the so-called thomas fire burning now is among the top ten most destructive wild fires in state history. from our delaware newsroom some students in middletown had the chance to see the power of patriotism firsthand the wreath across america along with gold star families made a ceremony in middletown. and they made wreaths in preparation for the visit the students spent the last several weeks learning about america's

veterans. they made their own wreath to be donated to a local veterans organization. and a young boy is making patches for cancer patients, this is jayden a young guy with a big heart. after meeting a police officer at the 9/11 memorial in new york city he decided to collect patches from different law enforcement agencies around the country and jayden wants a way to raise money for cancer research and came up with the idea of patches for promise. >> i really feel bad for all the people that have cancer so what i did was started every patch i get i started to collect patches, and every patch i get i give a dollar to cancer. >> little guy big idea. in the last six months, jayden received close to 150 patches and still growing. >> good for him.

changes for tomorrow. and then as we head into the weekend a lot of clouds both days. limited sunshine this weekend. especially on saturday and windy day and winds gusts 30 to 35 miles per hour. 40 degrees. and the 40 sounds warmer than it has been and it will feel colder with the wind and early sun on sunday gives way to clouds and quickly increasing in the afternoon and high of 42 degrees. right now nowhere near the 40 degree mark and teens to the north and west and we still have the stubborn wind out of the west northwest today than will kind of trail off here tonight. again, 17 right now allentown and 23 in philadelphia and 20 in wilmington and dover 24 degrees. there is that hole in the cloud cover. moving in late this afternoon clear sky and clouds building to the west and tracking a system and can't show you it because it

has not blossoms yet and igniting itself to the south and increasing quiet and clouds and scold and calm and 13 in the suburbs and 22 in center city. and through the day tomorrow temperatures north and west of philadelphia stay at or below freezing, where we see more of those snow showers to the southeast it should be a tad above freezing in the afternoon to help some of that snow to melt when it hits the ground and again little snow during the rush hour tomorrow afternoon will create visibility issues as well. and again most of those snow showers south and east. and as we track it. we see how it blossoms between 1:00 and 3:00. especially i 95 to the south and east the steadiest will be and it will not last long and fires up and is gone two hours later. everything is off the coast and drying out the cloud cover and a brush of light snow 2:00 until 6:00 and the main focus is south of the city with the possibility

of slick roads and could be a coating to inch near the city of wilmington and philadelphia. all points to the south and really just some flurries and not much accumulation to the north and west especially near the lehigh valley and may not see a flake tomorrow. as we look at the exclusive accuweather forecast afternoon showers 32 degrees and breezy and some sun here on saturday. 40 feeling close toward freezing with the wind. and as we get into sunday the clouds thicken back up 42 after early morning sun. a shower and clouds on monday and 49 and mild come tuesday, 55 degrees. and then we are back to normal levels here on wednesday and thursday. with clouds and sun between 42 and 44 degrees. we'll watch the snow showers and a period of light snow tomorrow afternoon near the rush hour. 55 wow. >> thank you adam. here is something that makes us
