health issues are being raised. this is another deadly attack in a major western city. the white suv plowed through busy street barreling across intersection filled with pedestri 19 injured, several in critical condition. a preage school rushed to the hospital with a head wound. >> at this stage we believe it's a deliberate act. >> reporter: witnesses say the suv ran through lights tracks before deliberately taking aim at those going about their day. ed and rolled. some were nonresponsive. he made a collision with the people but obviously a pole or curb and lost the vehicle and man getting arrested outside of the jeep maybe 30 years old. >> reporter: they say perpetrator has a histo mental one witness posting this. this is the man would rammed into pedestrians. >> there was one sole person in the cs the driver. that's the offender we have in

back memories of an attack just before christmastime three years ago at a shop when hostages were taken. the building came under siege and people were on edge and i think it's those very memories this attack in melbourne brings back right here in sydney where the streets are still clogged with holiday shoppers toting gift bags as they go on about their night and it's just the kind of thing that authorities across the u.s. and in europe and elsewhere have been warning about because of the heightened concerns regarding terrorism, christmas, isis propaganda but here in sydney there are silltill plenty of people on the streets even as it approaches midnight and they're findful of what

a look look at the roads out in new jersey and then in chicago's o'hare airport. so many people traveling as that storm moves across the country and you know ginger is tracking it all for everyone. good morning. >> good morning. up to 40 inches of snow fell in parts of montana, and the roads look like this. not what you want to see when you're headed to grandma's house. it wasn't just there. minot, north dakota looked almost blizzard-like. it wasn't officially blizzard-like. what i do want to show you where this tracks next. traveling 80 or 90 through really tomorrow night, that's where you see that cold front come through. dallas to memphis could see thunderstorms. friday night in massachusetts, including boston's airport, including interstate 90 and some of 80, i would watch out the farther west you go for some of the icing to happen so you could end up with 2 to 4 inches but a tenth of an inch of ice and that could be a problem.

saturday night, new york and boston being rain and some in washington, d.c. and interior new england is where we end up with accumulating snow. over overall not a ton of white christmas but a ton of cold. >> mother nature not cooperating. ginger thanks so much. all that weather played a major role in holiday travel. 51 million americans expected to fly during the holidays as we showed you that line at chicago's o'hare the line is growing and david kerley is at reagan national in d.c. also busy and see the lines right behind you. >> reporter: yes, absolutely. this is kind of the peak more the morning rush and folks have been getting in for their flights taking off this morning. today and tomorrow the very busy days before christmas as folks try to get home for the holidays about a 3.5% increase in the number of travelers this year compared to last year and, of course the busiest places are going to be these tsa lines, in fact tsa tells us they're expecting about 20% more

travelers coming through their spots. the busiest airports guess it atlanta, where we had the problem with the power outage and caused problems across the country. december 26 will be particularly bad there, the day after christmas, l.a.x. plan for extra security tomorrow and more travelers could mean longer lines at the tsa security lines. part of the reason are new requirements about electronic devices, anything bigger than a cell phone has to be taken out. now, you won't get that in the precheck line but they may ask you to take it out of your bag, tom. if they don't it's because it's being phased in. don't be surprised if they don't ask right away. >> we saw that wild headline about american airlines and a scheduling glitch that left some flights without pilots over the holidays. did they resolve that issue? >> reporter: yes, americans telling us they have using reserve pilots and the reason it's continued into the holiday season is that they have to

rebecca, thank you so much. now to breaking news just in that baby who was kidnapped taken from her home has now been found. abc's marcus moore is in houston with the latest developments on this story. marcus, what a relief. >> reporter: what a relief amy. this is the news that people here in houston and across the country have been hoping for. just moments ago the houston police department announcing that they have found 6-week-old shamali flores in an apartment complex in southeast houston and she appears to be unharmed taken to the hospital as a precaution at the center of a massive search when her mother was found stabbed to death in their houston apartment. an amber alert followed with this girl's picture and the police urging the public to help them find clues where she might be and the fbi joining in. we know they used bloodhounds and canvassed that enneighborhood for any trace of

dna test kit and last tuesday i got the results and was looking through and i saw -- i recognize the his name and looked him up on facebook and there he was and i was just like wow, finally after, you know 20 years of you know thinking about it there he was. >> i just got chills because when you saw each other was there recognition on a dna level basically. >> for sure yeah. >> it was like looking at a mirror when we first met. >> and, vincent, you were nearly 9 when kieron was born. do you have memories of him as a baby. >> almost certainly. my vivid memory is seeing a baby smile for the first time and it was him and helping my mom take care of him and she was a single parent so i remember making bottles and helping my mom change the diapers and playing with him a lot so it was a great experience. >> when you all first met again because you obviously had met at one point, you don't remember. you do vincent, what was your initial reaction?

was it just -- was there any awkwardness? was there just love a connection? >> you know, like i saw him walking up to me and he called my name and we stared at each for like 10 or 15 sicks and this is real and approached each other and gave each other a hug and shed some tears and walked into a local place and talked to for a few hours. >> what's amazing is that you both -- is it kennesaw state. >> yes. >> you're both at the same college. i hail from georgia. there are a lot of universities you could go to. the fact you are both at the same college. you have the same major and the same minor. >> yep. [ laughter ] >> yeah what are you majoring and minoring in? >> political studies and science. that came up so we were just like, wow, we're the same person. this is crazy. >> and you both like the atlanta falcon. >> we love the atlanta falcons.
