what can you tell us? >> well, jim, we just learned from state police that the suspect is deceased. the shelter in place has been lifted and the scene is secure. we are here at third and wilson street. you see emergency vehicles and personnel down there. according to state police, when the emergency response team went into the home, the suspect was found dead. the new information was found 15 minutes ago. the last update was an hour ago saying this was an active shooter investigation. this is new information. we heard shots from the neighborhood earlier this evening. take a listen. >> multiple agencies respond today this active shooter investigation in bethlehem township on dennis street. police in dozens of homes were told to shelter in place as

shots were fired. one neighbor shows a police armored vehicle with what appear to be bullet holes across the windshield. it started about 1:30 this afternoon. we saw officers focused on a suburban home in the neighborhood. the suspect fired shots at officers. no word on injuries. we are waiting for information from state police, expecting an update soon. the standoff is over. police say the suspect has been found dead inside the home and the shelter in place has been lifted. if we have more information we'll bring you the developing details. trish hartman, channel6 "action news." >> thank you, trish. >> harrisburg police came under fire late this afternoon. a man shot at officers at three locations. the suspect is now dead. the first shooting happened near the state capital building. the suspect shot up a police

vehicle. the officer was not injured. a state trooper was hurt at another location. the injuries are said to be nonlife threatening. sky 6 on two major transportation hubs. at this time of night, things have calmed down in philadelphia and philadelphia international airport but traffic will pick up in the morning. to the latest holiday forecast from accuweather, here's meteorologist cecily tynan. >> jim, we are dry for now. double scan live showing it's not lasting that way long. you see the plume of moisture out of the tennessee and ohio valley with pressure lifting to the north and west. as it does, it pulls up wind from the south. it's mild for late december standards.

county has turned deadly. the crash happened just before 6:00 near ellis mills road. one car left the roadway and slammed into the trees on the side of the highway. the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. friends and family held a memorial for a an 83-year-old veteran found dead in his home. they donned his white framed glasses and released balloon in his honor. he was killed tuesday. police are searching for his killer. an adult and two children escaped a house fire this afternoon. firefighters responded to the 2100 block at 2:00. all three inside managed to get

this is where it was supposed to happen, the water front. 26-year-old edward jamison was planning a terrorist attack on christmas day. the tow truck driver was arrested and charged telling an undercover agent that he needed no escape plan because he was ready to die. video from the cab of the derailed amtrak train in the state of washington shows that the engineer didn't appear to be using a cellphone or personal device just before the train jumped the tracks. he said something about the speed of the train but didn't put the brake into emergency mode. apple is facing a lawsuit
