the weather. >> a police officer is being treated after shots were fired on the 300 block of north second street. the officer was injured by flying glass. numerous shots were fired. >> i thought it was firecrackers. i heard them twice. one earlier and one sooner. i came outside. they had the area blocked off. >> the officer was taken to hospital. no arrests have been made so far in the case. >> police are investigating a homicide in port richard about two hours ago on the 3,000 block of agot street. a 29-year-old man was shot repeatedly, rushed to temple hospital where he was pronounced dead. two men were seen leaving the

area but no arrests have been made. there could be a major break in the case of a hit and run in berks count y. "action news" was there as police toed away the vehicle. trish hartman is live with bristol borough police. >> walter, police took the car into custody several hours ago. they need to perform tests to see if it's the striking vehicle, but it could be important in the case. >> bristol borrow police say it was a tip that brought them here to a car in this garage. >> we have obtained a search warrant for the vehicle itself and we are in the process of taking it into custody. >> police say the car is a silver mercedes benz, the same model they have been looking for

>> thank you for the report. moving on to a crash just before 5:00 at delaware and fair play boulevard on the growns of the delaware racetrack and casino. it's not clear how it happened but state police are investigating the case. police are looking for the man that opened fire and wounded add four-year-old girl last night. the little girl was getting out of the car with her father when several men drove by in another car and opened fire. >> the child's father tried to shield her but she was shot in the leg. police believe the father was the intended target. a small fire at springfield mall forced residents to evacuate the building today.
