officials say that law enforcement were the target of the shoot inner harrisburg. and president trump is embroiled in a new controversy over his comments about immigrants and aid. first the exclusive accu weather forecast with meteorologist chris sowers has everyone wondering about the snowfall. >> i think it feels colder right now then dit this morning when i was out here wind continues to blow out of the north east ten to 15 miles an hour with all of the cloud cover we are seeing those two factors will limit, the temperatures to day, yesterday we topped out at 61. today will be a struggle to reach 43 or 44. presently in this midday hour we are showing 39 in reading, 39 allentown, 40 in philadelphia, 31 in the poconos, 43 millville and 39 in trenton. you can see that cloud cover rolling in advance of the next system that we're watching just off of the screen there off to the west across chicago and central portions of illinois and indiana. split is on storm tracker, small area of low pressure racing off to the east at 30

busiest spots the supermarket and liquor store in cherry hill, new jersey, bob. >> reporter: nydia and christie, out here in cherry hill, we have got here around 9:00 this morning it was crowded then and at noon now it is still crowded. let me show you here pan camera off to the side you can see cars, into the parking lot looking for a spot. then looking out in the parking lot you can see it is cleared all the way as far as it can go but wegmans is doing a great job. they have all registers opened and they are shoveling people through as quickly as they can there is a whole lot have last minute grocery shopping going on, now are we surprised so many waited until the last minute? no. but wegmans isn't full of people who simply wait todd shop for no good reason. well, for some people he did have a legitimate excuse. >> i did it because that is what i say i'm going to do. >> reporter: we did run into plenty of shop hours did that included mom of two ab dre a, this was only time that she

thoroughly examined. >> we're working this case and thinks just part of the process. hopefully we will get a successful conclusion. >> witness eggs told police that before the crash two vehicles appeared to be race ago long route 13. so far no arrests have been made. so from our new jersey news room a man was critically injured during a fire in cape may county many. the blaze broke out in tuckahoe. a man inside the building was trapped with fire fighters were able to rescue him. he was taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and burns. it took crews just over an hour to bring the fire under control. it is unclear what sparked it. prosecutors in pennsylvania, say that there is no doubt that a gunman targeted police officers in the state capitol, and an department of home land security is now calling it a terror attack. investigators say ahmed, shot at harrisburg police officer, friday afternoon and then later at a state trooper. both were in marked vehicles, police say after elmofty shot the trooper he followed her

philippines are taking stock after a tropical storm that strength toned a typhoon before moving out overnight. 120 people are dead, 160 others are missing and flash floods and landslide. local officials are blaming logging in the mountains for the flooding which swept away homes, thousands remain in emergency shelters or stranded at airports. after temperatures in the 60's in recent weeks much of colorado will have a white christmas. from the denver area to the mountain passes road crews were up all night trying to keep road opened for holiday travelers. parts of the zero seven were closed overnight because of white out conditions. veil had to set up an emergency shelter in city hall for those stranded drivers, so are we going to have anything like this, chris. >> no, not in the foreseeable

cleveland, chicago plays in the snow. bears taking on the lions. that will be in the snow by the second half this system will push east over the next 24 hours and we are seeing flakes flying around here, overnight tonight, mainly north and west of philadelphia but some of these could come down at a good clip, briefly before eventually flipping over to rain, overnight. matter on have fact future tracker six most of today is dry, later this evening we will see cloud lower, thicken. stop clock at seven. there could be a couple rain showers, i-95 corridor snow flakes flying in lancaster county as coastal low getting when all this moisture starts filling in. so by 8:30 or 9:00 it is snowing every where north of the pennsylvania turnpike allentown we will see dark shade of purple. pretty moderate at that point. reading seeing moderate snow and poconos everybody else looks like a cold rain falling and then right around midnight we will see that rain/snow line lift to the north. may go snowing in the poconos only for our viewing area and points north in wilkes barre scranton and then cold rain for everybody else.

that will continue through about four or 5:00 o'clock in the morning and then storm lifts to the north becomes a nice snowstorm for new england where places like boston, burlington, vermont, maine could pick up 6 inches or more of snow with this system. for us main factor for us will be that how long wind on the back side. as this storm starts continue on tense file. winds pick up out of the northwest. temperatures tomorrow afternoon top out in the 30es. thirty-four the model has us in philadelphia by 3:30. but again factor in the wind and it feel are feels like teens and 20's all day long. blustery and cold. snowfall totals nothing for i-95 south and east. rain event there coating in the darker shade of gray north of lancaster through reading and south of allentown, places like pottstown, quakertown. that will wash away flip over to rain and then maybe an inch or two in the northern portions of the lehigh valley and poconos. winds kick in to wind is in

of war. former miss america join the call for changes in the organization after a scandal involving derogatory e-mails. but first meteorologist chris sowers starts off with a look at your christmas forecast getting colder and colder out there, chris. >> if you are someone who enjoys the snow and cold you will like the week ahead here. temperatures starting on wednesday and this could last right through probably the manor tuesday the following week. never get get above freezing of 32 degrees. it will get cold around here. with that said it is much colder right now then it was yesterday at this time when temperatures were in the 50's. south jersey was in the lower 60's. we are seeing temperatures basically in the 30's, maybe a couple lower 40's and we have wind speed north at 10 miles an hour on top of. that chilly afternoon 12 miles an hour in allentown, ten in trenton, 12 in wilmington, ten in dover. these are current wind chills around the region or feels like numbers. feels like 32 in reading. thirty-three in philadelphia 38 millville. thirty-seven in dover.

april 19th. a millville police officer is being treated for minor injuries after someone fired shots at the officer's patrol car. it happened around 7:30 in the 300 block of north second street. we have learned that the officer was injured after being hit by glass, witnesses say numerous shots were fired. >> i thought it was a lot have firecrackers, you hear a lot of stuff like that but wrapped gunshots, you know, remember petely. i heard one early and one sooner and i came out and saw them running toward this way. they had this area blocked off they have this corner and they block this off, all going on here. >> the officer was taken to the local hospital, no arrests had been made at this hour. a man is in serious condition this morning after police say that he tried to break in the game stop in camden county. police say security guard noticed a man the roof of the store on blackwood clementon road in gloucester township around 2:30 this morning. man tried to run but fell off, second story ton a concrete parking lot, suspect was brought to cooper university

hospital, police believe he may be the same person who broke into the store three other times, within the last month. a driver is facing charge these noon after he was rescued by fire fighters, following the crash. police say that the driver of the jeep liberty lost control of his suv at church lane and greenwood avenue in upper darby. suv crashed in a drainage ditch and driver was trapped inside. fire fighters worked for 20 minutes before finalry freeing him. he was taken to the, hospital for injuries but will be charged when released. delta airlines says last weekend's big power outage in atlanta caused 50 million-dollar and ceo wants that money back. ed boston wants heartsville jackson airport or georgia power to reimburse the airlines. more than a thousand flights, including hundreds of delta flights were cancelled when a, fire in georgia power facility knocked out the main power and the backup system. talks from those natural and manmade disasters jumped

starting to spill right into the lower 48. this system here producing swat of snow. this is what i was showing you earlier in the broadcast but i just double clicked and blew right through here. this is chicago o'hare airport and midway. here's lake effect snow band driving in off of lake michigan. we are seeing snow fall rates between a inch and inch and a half an hour. this bandies over o'hare right now. because of that delays are mounting. forty-five minutes in o'hare. thirty-five minutes at midway. these will only get higher here as that snow band works its way over airport. if you have loved won flying in for chicago more than likely there will be some delays. we just missed out on this winter storm here. if you want aid white christmas we didn't miss this by much. maybe 100, 150 miles. here's current track of that system i showed you over chicago. it will team up with the coastal low in the process of developing right now. two get together right over the mouth of the bay here, and this will start to really start to explode.

we can see five to 10 inches of snow. in order to get that white christmas here we would need this to dive further south, and then secondary low develops here and then that comes up the coast. at that point all of the precipitation starting to develop, cold air in place and we will get our snow. we didn't miss this by much. maybe 100 to 150 miles. but with that said parts of the area could see snow on the ground for first thing tomorrow morning. future tracker six mostly cloudy skies, blustery, chilly , temperatures by 7:00 this evening right around 40 degrees in philadelphia maybe a couple sprinkles or a few showers at that point but look at how quickly this precipitation shield starts to fill in, that is coastal low developing. it is snowing north and west of the pennsylvania turnpike by 9:00 o'clock and that continues through the late evening hours into the overnight and matter of fact this rain snow line starts lifting to the north, through lehigh valley and poconos by midnight and five and 6:00 a.m. thinks long gone, snowstorm nor new england, wind picks up out of the northwest, temperatures on christmas day get no better

than 38, 39 for the high but with the wind it feels more like the teens and 20's. snowfall totals look like this , nothing for philadelphia south ande, perhaps a slushy coating for places like reading, pottstown, quakertown maybe an inch or two for lehigh valley and poconos but this right here will probably wash away because of the rain. if you want to see snow on the ground christmas morning you have to go up to the lehigh valley and poconos. forecast for today cloudy skies, chilly, 44 degrees for the high in philadelphia coming off of yesterday's 61. millville 45, wilmington 45. reading 45. and allentown is 44. the exclusive accu weather seven day forecast. once we get beyond christmas day it is coal. pattern will stay cold for a couple weeks. thirty-nine on christmas day. wind chills in the teens and 20's. thirty-seven on tuesday. wednesday, 32. thursday, we will drop it down 29. and friday 27. and then saturday 31. we are watching a coastal system for next weekend we will see how that plays out but that is some cold stuff.
