>> on this christmas eve we have team coverage, annie mccormack is live at king of prussia where shoppers have one more hour to pick up that last minute gift. >> but first we will begin with meteorologist melissa magee tracking the christmas day forecast. melissa, everyone is watching out for this one. >> jeanette and walter we have some changes in the rest of tonight and into christmas day and we have you covered with that forecast. certainly cooler today. high in philadelphia just 43. forty-one in the city. thirty-nine for allentown. thirty in the poconos. forty-four at the coast in cape may. bit of the wind chill to factor n it feels like 34 in the city, 22 in the poconos. thirty-three in allentown. wind chill in millville coming in at 35. for the rest of our christmas eve night, well, mostly cloudy we're tracking rain that will develop in the city later tonight at 6:00 p.m. we have a number of 41. midnight mass temperature coming in at 43 degrees. this is what we're tracking winter weather advisory posted for burks, lehigh, northampton county up to the poconos. goes up at 7:00 lasting right

through 7:00 a.m. on christmas morning, and we will talk about the reason y storm track er six live double scan radar 3-d showing us a small batch of precipitation with snow out of the lower great lakes and the lower ohio valley. this will cut off to the west of our region producing snow for areas just to the north and west of the i-95 metro area. we will talk about what we can expect. rain later on tonight for south jersey and delaware, just some light snow for lehigh valley up to the poconos and this will meet for a very windy, brisk christmas day. we have more details and tracking santa, that is coming up with the accu weather forecast, jeanette. >> talk to you soon, thank you there is a mad dash at malls all across the area, many of them closed in just an hour which has some people, scrambling to pick up gifts for their loved won. >> reporter: fifty-eight minutes and counting, jeanette some people call last minute shoppers procrastinators but i have to tell i there is some big deals out here so maybe they are just smart shoppers. take a look at this video, this is video in the final hours, at the king of prussia mall is open, outside of the lord and taylor and neiman marcus. signs that the mall is aware we have been at. you can also see cars, circling around for spots, they are still doing that now as we speak. people walking out, bags in hand pretty successful checking off their shopping list. now we caught up with some shoppers who tell us today that the deals are the best they have seen all season. we also spoke to one of santa 's helpers with a little frantic coming here today worried she wouldn't be able to complete a legos gift. good news she was able to and glad she was able to make the trip. lets listen. >> we went every where that sells legos. they have the sets. but they don't have the men. we were forced to come here just so santa can complete the set. >> reporter: worth the trip. >> so far, yes, yes.

not for me, traffic is crazy, but... >> reporter: back out here live you can see beautiful reindeer they are glistening, into the night, as it becomes dark out here. a lot of the shoppers ending their final trip, now that they have less than an hour taking a picture in front of the reindeer. one thing, walter and jeanette , i want to make clear to those kid at home who might be watching here in the mall are santa's helpers. santa has all year to prepare, for christmas day and listening, he will be tracking him all night. we will have more coming up from those last minute shoppers, within the next hour , at 6:00 o'clock, that is when king of prussia mall closes. it reopens, on the 26th, at 8:00 a.m. in case you don't like what you got under the tree. reporting live from king of prussia, annie mccormack for channel six "action news". >> santa claus has a parole complex system. for many families the christmas feast would not be complete without a uniquely

philadelphia styled theme tradition. dozens of people spent the morning at termini brothers bakery in south philadelphia, earlier this morning. many people, needed cakes, cookies, are non-negotiable and part of the tradition is lining up outside the bakery before sunrise, to make sure that they didn't walk away empty handed. >> we got here at 1:00 o'clock this year. usually we get here at midnight. we try to be first, get in, get our stuff and then get home back in bed by 7:30. >> talk about dedication. people from the bakery also set up heat lamps to keep their customers warm, while they waited. santa made a detour earlier today and teamed up with the trevose fire company, to stop by several neighborhood in bucks county, families lined the streets to see santa and his helpers, they were even able to give the big man a hug, and then pose for pictures. and, this little guy was from north philadelphia, made

a mad dash and huge hug. in return he gave her an early christmas present. santa spent the afternoon hanging out with state representative emelio vasquez who distributed toys in his district. he made a stop at st. christopher's hospital for children in philadelphia's hunting park section. this little girl was all smiles, as she sat on the big guy's lap. santa didn't make her way, until christmas morning, to open up her gifts. he gave them to her right on the spot. she received a couple with the abc's and then immediately began singing them. just after 5:00 o'clock on this christmas eve here but santa's fantastic voyage has already started. as you can see, delivering presents, to boys and girls all around the world. according to norad the santa tracker old saint nick and his faithful reindeer are right now over europe it seems. he is still on track to arrive in the delaware and lehigh valleys right around midnight tonight. we want to see your celebrations, for the holidays , from holiday lights to the kid on christmas

targeted the historic landmark overnight. >> take the chairs of the pulpit, and stained glass windows, even hinges off the door. it is unbelievable. >> reporter: antique doors and candles among other things cost more than $10,000 in damages and theft. it is believed that the thieves broke into the church through a side entrance. >> if you had are willing to steel from god, then you don't have any conscious. >> i feel related because we have been here so long, we have been a force in this community for so long, we have done a lot of community work, and we have helped a great deal of people, and to see this happen, it is, really sad >> reporter: setback has abandoned christmas spirit for those who worshiped here. >> there is no way we would cancel our services, especially behind me. >> i pray for those, who broke in because one of the things you have to realize when you

we have an update on a quadruple shooting in southwest philadelphia police have identified a suspect. they are looking for 21 year-old jabir kennedy who lives on the 6600 block of dorell street, which is same place where the shooting took place on thursday night. officers say that they were called about a woman who was allegedly assaulted by her children's father, earlier in that day. she went back to the house were four men and that is when a fight broke out. kennedy reportedly went on to shoot all four men, one of them was kill. the others remain hospitalized kennedy is considered armed and dangerous. police in delaware, stanton delaware say a car at center of the deadly wreck was stolen earlier today. thirty year-old stephan good man is accused of carjacking the nissan that was speeding when it rammed in the vehicle driven by a man in man to, new jersey leaving the delaware

park casino last night. the 77 year-old victim was killed with his nine two-year old passenger. their identities have not been released. from our new jersey news room a man was critically injured during a fire in cape may county. blaze broke out just before 11:00 in the 1800 block of mount pleasant road in tuckahoe. the man inside the building was trapped but fire fighters were able to rescue him. he was taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and burns. it took crews just over an hour to bring the fire under control. it is unclear what sparked that blaze. president trump is keeping busy with as he spend the christmas holiday at one of his resorts. abc's gary allbinger reports. >> reporter: bus day of golf and christmas events with president trump while spending the holidays at his florida resort. this afternoon the president and first lady working the phones, with the north american aerospace defense command or norad, military agency that has tracked santa claus path for christmas eve

thousands of christian pilgrims are in the town of bethlehem where jesus christ first celebrated christmas. many lines and street near the manger square as bands played christmas music before mas the journey of mary and joseph is not that different from today's immigrants and refugees, who are forced to leave their home land. he was delivering the

traditional christmas day message from the st. peters square tomorrow midday at local time. fire fighters in burlington county, new jersey brought some holiday cheer, to deserving families this christmas eve. it all started at beverly fire department today where crews wrapped up gifts. santa claus and his fire fighter helpers and fire truck on a mission to deliver those goods. action cam was there as old saint nick passed out gifts to two families, specially chosen by the department, santa claus had seen the kid tear open their gifts as they ended with lots of hugs and appreciation, as well. several families from southwest philadelphia, celebrated a christmas a little bit early, thanks to a man known as the community clause. paul earthquake moore has been collecting gifts for individual and co over the past few weeks. today, he handed them out to five families in need, during a special party. moore says the goal of this annual event to spread some holiday cheer, to let them families know that the community really cares. local barber took a break

from cutting hair on this christmas eve and instead handed out coats. and, and, barber salon in wilmington as they handed out coats to anyone who needed one the salon started a coat drive , ten years ago as a way to help with the community and give back. people young and old, lined up to get coats today, each year, they have been able to give away more than 1,000 coats. pretty impressive. >> time for a check of the accu weather forecast. >> oh, yeah. >> we've got some changes that we're tracking throughout the rest of tonight. >> what kinds of changes, walter. >> well, walter, so funny you ask, rain in the city, and north and west, through this day it will be quite windy. we will talk about the details and walk to the weather center and show you picture outside, sky six live in hd as we are looking at our temple university cameras looking at a nice shot of the center city sky line, a lot of folks are wrapping up, last minute shopping, here on this good christmas eve night. looking at the numbers, chilly , 41 in philadelphia. thirty-nine allentown.

upper 30's for lancaster and reading. forty-two in cape may. forty-one in dover. when you compare temperatures currently to what we have this same time yesterday there is a bit of the difference. yesterday's high was 60 degrees. well above average. we are 19 degrees colder, in philadelphia then we were this same time yesterday, 20 degrees cooler in wilmington and dover then we were just 24 hours ago. but we're tracking more change s. we will look at satellite six with action radar lots of cloud around and we are track ago this disturbance that is off to the west, coming out of the great lakes and ohio valley. in will work its way eastward and it will cut up to the west of the i-95 metro area, so that is where we have been expect something light snowfall and wintry precipitation across, points of the delaware and lehigh valleys. but for the rest of tonight, we are tracking santa. walter jeanette, are you paying attention. >> we are. >> he is in norway. >> yes, he is in norway and santa's now headed, i just want to make sure, that is right, he has delivered more

than 3 billion presents and soon he is headed to the u.s. and the delaware and lehigh valleys. here's future tracker six. upon santa's arrival we are tracking light rainfall in the city points to the south ande, note that is snow starting to develop, to the north and west for allentown and reading, up through lancaster. it continues at 10:00 o'clock tonight but very light snowfall, to our north and west, that is where we have that winter weather advisory, posted at 2:00 in the morning. we are already starting to find a switch over from snow to rain in the northwestern suburbs and then by early 7:00 , christmas morning, that precipitation is exiting, as we see cloud, sunshine but it will be quite wind a cross the region. if you are hoping for a white christmas here in philadelphia it will not happen this year. up in the lehigh valley miles have an inch to inch and a half of snowfall before it transition from his snow to mixed precipitation. for christmas day we are looking good. it is blustery, cold, however, winds gusting to 40 to 45 miles per hour and as we go through the day, the

alycia vitarelli is here. we will take you to the stores packed with last minute shoppers preparing for their holiday scenes. but first we will begin with the christmas eve forecast, meteorologist melissa me gee has wintry weather tonight. >> yeah, we have rain, snow, everyone, merry christmas. it is good christmas day. nice one but just blustery. we will talk about the details and walk over to the weather center. show you picture outside, sky six live hd looking at a beautiful shot of this christmas tree. a lot of folks out and about on city hall on this christmas eve night. getting ready for the big day tomorrow. before that happens we will talk about the eagles they are at home as we get into monday night they are taking on the raiders, and the kick off around 8:30 tomorrow night. it will be breezy blockstories and cold. wind chills will be in the 20 's. at 8:00 we have a number of 31 at 11:00 tomorrow night we have a temperature of 29. before any of that front activity takes place we are

tracking wintry precipitation and blustery conditions throughout the day tomorrow morning. as we look at the numbers it is 35 in quakertown. thirty in lake harmony. thirty-four for slatington and kutztown. thirty-four in media center city is coming in at 41. down in new jersey 30 in browns mills. forty in hammington. forty in glassboro. lower 40's for smyrna and dover at this hour. here's satellite six with action radar. lots of cloud around the region. we are tracking a weak disturbance still off to the west. you can see that moisture moving through great lakes and ohio valley. so this weak area of low pressure is, moving up to the west of our region essentially it will join forces with an area of low pressure just off the coast and bomb out across areas of new england but far from our region. right now we are just expecting, some light precipitation and some light snow, to the north and west. so for the rest of tonight, it is mostly cloudy, wintry precipitation north and west of i-95 metro area. dip down to 31. suburbs and 36 degrees in philadelphia for the overnight low.

so here's future tracker six at 10:00 o'clock tonight chilly rain in the city and points south ande for south jersey and delaware but that snow is starting to develop in lancaster, reading, allentown and up through the poconos. by 2:30 during the overnight hours, so early christmas morning we are starting to see a transition from snow, to rain for reading and lancaster and also, into allentown. it holds on to that snow status up in the poconos, throughout the majority of this area and then 7:30 tomorrow morning all of that precipitation is long gone but the chill, sets in the wake of that as far as snowfall mainly rain for philadelphia, south jersey, and delaware. we have to find a coating to an inch for areas in lancaster , reading and northern bucks, and montgomery counties. about an inch of snowfall is likely, up into the poconos as this end is very early christmas morning. it is all about the chill and wind, wind advisory goes up at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. future tracker wind at 7:00 o'clock tomorrow morning for christmas day we have wind as high as 34 miles an hour in

philadelphia. forty-five for dover. same thing in wildwood. very strong wind as long the coast. winds will be strongest in the morning and then they will start to ease as we get into tomorrow evening. and that is back down in the 20 to 25 miles an per hour range. the exclusive accu weather seven day forecast showing you for christmas day, it is brisk , windy but we are dry. a high of 39 degrees. the eagles at home as we get into christmas night, on tuesday, partly sunny, cold, high of 37. couple flurries are likely as we get into tuesday afternoon. wednesday, sunny, cold, a high of 32. arctic chill arrives on thursday, look at that high just 29, and mostly cloudy, cold on friday, just 27, we're watching the coast next weekend with a high of 31 and we will stay cold, next sunday a high of 27. >> sadly, okay. >> yes. >> thanks, melissa. well, christiana mall in delaware workers held a little parade to keep everyone energized and in the holiday spirit on this last day of shopping. shoppers followed along enjoying the live music, the mall closes its doors at 6:00

tonight. you have 27 minutes, so, time is running out. here are some of the other hours at other malls, philadelphia mills is opening today until 6:00. king of prussia also closed at 6:00 o'clock. target and k-mart are among the stores staying opened later. i bet a lot of people are like i'll get it together next year every year, it is same thing. >> better hurry up information this year. in addition to picking up last minute gifts we found other people picking up last minute items for their christmas feast. >> "action news" reporter bob brooks hits a supermarket and liquor store in cherry hill, new jersey. >> reporter: we got to the wegmans in cherry hill this morning right at 9:00 o'clock sharp. video speaks for itself. it was packed. last minute shopping in full swing. then around noon time it was busier, parking lot packed, just about full capacity, and now some shoppers like dale, simply waited until the last minute for no specific reason. >> i guess because that is what everybody else is doing.

>> reporter: he did plan quite the feast for tonight and for tomorrow so we will give him some credit. >> for tonight, we have got a couple different meats here, we have the brisket which i'm very excited about, we have a fresh ham for tomorrow, and tonight we are going to be cooking up, just a little leg of lamb. >> reporter: for andrea of cherry hill she had no choice but to have her helpers still in her pajamas to get it done today. >> since i'm a nurse, i was working the past few days so we are just having to do things when you can. >> reporter: you have them. >> yes. >> reporter: we spoke to patty , who shopped today to make sure her spread was the best it could be. >> just to make sure everything is fresh, make sure the stuff is fresh. >> reporter: finally we spoke to mother and daughter mary and sarah grill, epitome of the holidays. they don't live close anymore, and shopping at wegmans today is one of the moments that they will cherish, because they are alone, the rest of the family is at home. >> it is awesome, great.

>> yesterday. >> first wrap it in colorful tissue or wrapping paper and then cover witt clear cellophane. >> then next thing we will just gather the ends and tie with a piece of ribbon. >> how fun will this look under the tree with candy. >> yeah. >> extra tissue paper or tool make your own bows. here's how, stack it up, fold it up. >> and then just cut a shape around the edge to just give it some kind of a roundness. >> punch a hole, thread ribbon through and stand it out. >> it gives it a personal touch you didn't waist anything. >> and to make sure they are instagram perfect. >> if you wrap a shipping boxes you have done on line shopping, and you wrap it in wrapping paper so that way, in the morning, you don't have a black trash bag and all of your holiday photos, throw all of your trash in the wrapped present and then it looks all neat and nice in your pictures >> this is genius. >> and for a tidy workshop how cute is this, get a paper towel holder and stack all of your, ribbons there. very cute.

jeffery is leading this caravan and went on a christmas shopping spree and ready to deliver joy, to dozens of philadelphia families. he was met with a roaring welcome as he entered the second life center where parents, children were gathered for their annual holiday party. box after box was unloaded. filled with toys already sorted for the boys and girls, who call this neighborhood home. >> kayden. >> good for the kids, i just want them to have a christmas. it feels good to give and they can have something, give them a little hope. >> say thank you. >> reporter: children were in awe of the kindness, and they loved, their toys. >> i got a pogo stick, black panter, iron man, black widow.

year-old denes gay is being called a hero for saving his grandmother's life. brenda gay was watching her grandchildren when she passed out. she knew something was wrong that he could not find his grandmother's phone to call 911. so instead he ran outside, to find an adult, and a neighbor helped called paramedics. she gave a real big hug and thanked him for what did he to help her out. >> he is her hero. >> turns out dimitri's grandmother had meningitis. she's doing much better after several days in the hospital. well, children of the fallen washington d.c. police officer have been given a unique gift to help honor and remember their dad. barry eastman was killed in september during a crash in maryland. office hours worked with east mandy side todd make teddy bears out of eastman's uniform as a holiday gift for his twins. how about that, violet and asher were thrilled and mom says they have yet to put them down. >> he would love it, so many people are reaching out to my
