reading and 10 allentown and 15 in philadelphia. and 19 in millville and i mentioned this yesterday. i'll mention it again today tomorrow, you do not want to look at the air temperatures you will want to look at windchills. as we look at satellite 6 along with action radar north and west there is sun and clouds to the south and the coastal system ramped up here. and that blossoms and moved out and sun through much of the day today returning from the north to the south here. a clear sky above now, that remains the case overnight tonight bitterly cold with the biting breeze these are air temperatures, 8 allentown and 9 reading and 12 in millville and 13 in dover and 16 by tomorrow morning in cape may. but again you have to factor in the winds and this is what you want to dress for as you head out the door at 7:00 a.m. 3 below in allentown and reading and 2 below in wilmington and 3 in millville. and 15 degrees below zero in the

poconos. where we have the windchill advisory in effect until noon tomorrow. windchills do not get out of the negative digits here in the poconos and most of our viewing area. and the lehigh valley and the shore will stay in single digits even for tomorrow afternoon. as we get into the end of the week here friday the clouds start to race in and friday is a dnd we are not looking at snow on friday and things start to change early on saturday morning. there will be a coastal storm developing and we could get clipped a starts to develop and we don't get whacked by it at this point. we see light snow showers developing saturday at 10:00 a.m. and continues into saturday afternoon way period of light snow and at this point. it looks like there could be a coating, 2 inches in spots here on saturday. not looking like a big storm at this point. and snow on the ground with bitter cold temperatures is just insult to injury.

a bucks county high school band is on his way to california. and everyone got ready to head to the airport. they are only one of 14 bands from across the country selected for the parade new years day. and they were chosen from 400 applicants and they were charged to raise enough money for the

struck by shrapnel and significant injuries he jumped into action and took action to save his fellow nearly 30 minutes andd in e turret until every wounded soldier was attended to. 14 years ago he never formerly received the purple heart until congressman costello's office stepped in and saw to it. more to come in the next 30 minutes on "action news" at 4:00, including the new safety measures designed to give hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. and they put their lives on the line to save a stranger. they rushed into danger to save a man in east falls last night.

but we begin a story about good people at the right time. >> helped an's life tonight. he was one of two men that rushed towards a burning van pullinver to safety. you heard from one here oh today a tow truck driver that stopped to help and now you'll hear from the other. chad pradelli was live from the scene of the fiery wreck with this selfless story. >> monica according to one of the good samaritans this driver likely would have burned to death but thanks to the three good samaritans that driver expected to survive and recovery fully. as soon as i pulled up the car was in flames and one guy in the car. and he was unresponsive at the time. >> 2:30 a.m. the minivan flipped in the northbound lanes of the roosevelt boulevard catching fires. and john was driving his tow truck in the southbound lanes. >> i immediately spun around on the highway to come check on the guy because there was literally

no one else on the highway. >> he arrived on scene and saw the driver was trapped. that is when mike conway pulled over and the two and a third good samaritan move nood action. >> yes, i was worryied it was going to blow and it could be my brother or sister or mom or dad. a quick prayer lets get this guy out of here. >> the gas tank was next to the fire that was going on. my first reaction was to get him out of the car. >> i get to the window and the guy is still in there i can see him hanging upside down and kick the window out and kick it and it breaks. and hit the seatbelt release and grabbed the injured driver and pulled him to safety. he was semi conscious and a nurse that pulled over gave him aid on the roadway. >> 60 seconds later the car pretty much blew up. the driver will make a full recovery in part because of the good samaritans.

>> i feel good. i don't feel like a hero or anything, i did what i thought was right. >> police say that the cause of the crash is under investigation, the name of the driver has not been released. live in east falls, chad pradelli, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a deadly accident forced police to shut down a new jersey highway for hours toding theorning rush. the collision involved two vehicles a jeep and a car going northbound on i-295 in hamilton township mercer county. one person was killed in the crash at 6:30 this morning, d into a hours to reopen all the lanes. >> an animal lover that tried to save a swan needed help of his own. a man used a kayak to reach an injured bird stranded in a pond andis kayak overturned leaving both of them in trole oxford firefighters rushed in to pull the man from the water and taken to the hospital by

identified as michael harodd and did what anyone would be expected to do. well police in california arrested a couple forever a crime they have never seen before. 39 benjamin and 31-year-old ashley carol are facing felony drug charges that they dealt drugs by drone, they delivered their drugs to the customers from the sky. -- >> well we don't have the sound there. but police have charged the pair with child endangerment. that his 9-year-old daughter was in the drug filled home and they have never seen the tactic and keeping eyes up for drug dealing as well. and now a new state law if illinois that treats animals more like children in custody

ndelays on the schuylkill expressway quiet this morning and busy this afternoon in the westbound lanes from the boulevard to this point at city avenue on out toward gladwyne and this is where the construction crews return after their holiday break later on tonight. starting at 9:00 we are down one lane in the westbound lanes of the schuylkill. at this point. it's just a lot ofvolume and sun glare. you see slowing on the eastbound schuylkill, 11 and 7 miles per hour as you travel towards conshohocken. and a crash by the exton square mall. you are back in business there. and on the big picture a downed pole in cobb's creek along cedar avenue. and still the fire location to avoid in german town in winona street near morris street and a number of issues in south jersey including a crash on the northbound side of 295 in belmar. the northbound delay cleared out

look at sky 6 hd and look at the action cam here.city. a lot of clouds early on in the day. as the system develops off the coast and a beautiful picture here and we return to sunshine this afternoon and the very chilly ocean water. that is dipping down now into the 40s and even 30s in parts of the area. as we look at sky 6 hd the commodore barry bridge live on sky 6 a nice night and we are gaining light the sunset is close to 4:32 and tha is for minutes ago but a nice shot as he wednesday. numbers we talk about winds, 13 miles per hour in the lehigh valley. and 10 in philadelphia and 9 in trenton and 9 miles per hour in millville. not a strong wind but you feed just a little bit of a breath from the air and that really drops how it feels. as we take a look at how it feels with windchills moving into the evening hours going into the teens and eventually single digits this is for

philadelphia at 1:00 in the morning 7 degrees is how it feels and that number gets close to zero in the zero by tomorrow morning for areas like allentown and reading and lancaster. satellite 6 along with action radar there is the low developing in the carolinas and off the coast of delawar. you saw cloud covere, missed the snow showers that blossomed off the coast and double barrelled high pressure and that is thee of cold air that sinked closer and the high gets closer tomorrow. and still far enough away to the west it cranks up the wind here for thursday. so far tonight. clear and cold and theing breeze. 7 to 14 miles per hour. and air temperatures 8 to 14 split from the suburbs to the city. windchill factor here tomorrow for tracker, single digits through the lunch time hour and in the city we get close to 10 or 11 degrees in the afternoon staying in the single digits in the suburbs with the northwest wind 10 to 20 milesder hour. amoun
