not ong with frigid temperatures, but we're expecting the snow across the region. meteorologist chris sowers joins us with details on the snowfall and the dangerous temperatures for the new year's celebrations. >> reporter: that's right, nydia, just when you thought it couldn't get colde it's about to get colder with windchills possibly below zero for many of us, new year's eve and new year's day. winter weather advisory has been issued for the area highlighted here, until 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, general accumulations will range from a coating to perhaps as much as 2 inches. this will be a light event. the snow will be light and fluffy. it will be easy to remove. because the temperatures are so cold, every flake will stick and some of the roads for a brief time could become dangerous, could become treacherous. this is the radar with storm tracker 6 live we set it in motion for you. a band of very light snow stretching from south central pennsylvania all the way through the garden state of new jersey.
