heavy bumping several inches in several locations and although it was light enough to shovel slick conditions caused all kinds of problems on the roadways today, we have team coverage of the whole thing that happened, "action news" reporter jeanette reyes is live with the details on the accidents in our area, and meet role goodies adam joseph has details of a very, very cold new years eve and new years day. but we will begin with a look how things look across the day action cabbing in wind feel within fired people fired up the snow blowsers. commuters were taking it easy as they made their way through some slushy, slick conditions across the region. over in center city they were bundle up to get against the bitter cold and wint. they had to navigate snowy sidewalks and drivers had to get around sections of snow packed roadways across the area. manayunk notoriously hilly streets were still snow covered when action cam arrived but from the look of the things it looked lake people were decide to go stay inside rather than venture

outside in the bitter conditions. it was a busier on the well traveled road of cherry hill. we spotted this salt truck making sure commuters had a relatively easy go of it earlier today. over in ocean city we found a few inn tread pip souls walking boardwalk. pretty sight among ocean but only if you can handle arctic conditions. a lot more activity on the belmont plateau of course we found lots of kid sledding making snow angels as well, one person even brought a portable chair to watch the children having fun. of course it wasn't all fun inn games today. here in horsham, a snow plow and a car collided on county line road. it happened just before 8:30 this morning near route 611. nobody was injured but officials say it certainly appears that the slick conditions played a role. and slick conditions were also a factor in the huge pile up on the schuylkill expressway in montgomery county today. lee 15 cars were involved forcing officials to shut down that stretch of the road. exactly what happened jeanette. >> reporter: well walter waking up this morning it was press toy look at the snow outside fairly easy to brush off the car but boy does it be slippery. it caused two major accidents and that slowed up, plow trucks as well. >> it is, just grab a coffee, normal will day for me, it barely snowed. >> reporter: for those people like ryan cella this morning's snow fall was hardly intimidating. >> most of the road had been plowed through worse pass was my driveway. >> reporter: it was enough to cause slick conditions and major problems on the roadways the weather was likely to blame for a crash this morning involving more than 15 cars, and it forced officials to shut down the schuylkill expressway for several hours in montgomery county and several injuries were reported. over in west conshohocken a tractor trailer driver is lucky to be alive after his truck, flipped over on the north bound lanes of the blue route. the cab fell off of the

overpass. still for most it was slow but smooth sailing. >> kind of slows life down a bit. >> reporter: bob cash with penndot says accidents and resulting, closure slowed down plow truck drivers too so they have work to do. >> drivers, sometimes they might get too close to our trucks, out there doing work so we advice, you know just motorist to stay six car lengths behind our plow trucks >> reporter: how has business been today. >> nuts nuts. >> reporter: as long as drivers don't slow it down in these slick conditions triple a tow truck driver steve's lee says he will be busy too. >> people get too confident, too fast and they learn the hard way and that is when they find me. >> yes. >> reporter: you know, i have issues starting up my car this morning because it was so cold but, for tomorrow, we know overnight plow trucks will be out retreating the road. we're expecting more cold weather tomorrow so make sure you give yourself some more time and of course bundle up

if you don't to have go out just stay home and enjoy sight s from inside of your home. reporting live from i-76 jeanette reyes for channel six "action news". >> conditions have been tough all right. with that said garbage truck driver was injured when he lost control on the 611 bypass this morning in doyletown bucks county. the truck toppled as you can sianni landed on its side on the southbound right lane near state road. a salt truck was brought into treat the road and allow rescue crews company work the scene without incident. driver was taken to the hospital for treatment. now to the snowfall is behind us more arctic air is on the way just to time for the start of the new year. how wonderful is that? meteorologist adam joseph has our first check of the accu weather forecast, adam. >> we saw that snow early today and it was pretty impressive, little band set up in southern montgomery bucks county and chester county, royersford picking up 3.8 inches of that fresh powder wayne delaware county 3.2 inches. phoenixville 2.8.

man accused of attacking a woman on christmas eve has been arrested. chester city police say victim pick up shaquille coleman out of the photo line up. she was walking through day shawn park at 2:30 when he allegedly dragged her in the wood before stabbing and raping her. he is now being held on one million-dollar bail. and, police are investigating a fatal shooting in the hunting park section. officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 3900 block of nice street at 1:30 this afternoon. there they found a man shot in the chest. he died a short time later at temple university hospital.
