snow and ice around. the good news as i w driving in, the roads are better than yesterday. gray hall is off, alicia vitarelli joi us. chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> reporter: we have a new nightmare on our hands, not the snow or the ice, but dangerous windchill. 1 below in allentown. 3 in millville. feels like 8 degrees in cape may. forecast for today, it's going to be a nice looking day, lots of snow on the ground in parts of the area obviously with the temperatures this cold none of that will melt, bitter cold, 20 degrees is the forecasted high. when you factor in the winds it will be whipping around from time to time. out of the northwest 10 to 20 miles per hour. this is what it feels like in philadelphia all day long. lunchtime, 7 degrees, 2:00 p.m., 8. the numbers start tanking into the evening hours as we ring in

the new year. as a matter of fact the national weather service issued a windchill advisory this goes into effect 9:00 p.m. until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. windchills from five above down at the jersey shore close to zero for the city of philadelphia. ten bel i the lehigh valley and 20 below in poconos. with windchill like that frostbite can set in within 25 hriss as you've been telling us, 2017 saving its worse for last, socking us with a flurry of purges, ice, snow, wind and cooler air in the delaware valley. all of it just in time for the new year's eve revelry. >> we have breaking news from delaware county. fire has forced dozen of

residents into the bitter cold.e on the north front street. around 2:30 a.m., i started hearing like a lot of loud noises near my window and i was thinking like nothing of it, lights went out, maybe there was something wrong with the electricity. i began to light candles in my kitchen, all of a sudden my neighbor is banging on my door, i'm like something is going to be wrong. it's like annual electrical fire. >> the generator went. >> it's bad. nothing warned us, no smoke detecters, nothing went off. >> firefighters arrived and ripped open part of the roof searching for flames and found smoke. crews cut off power to the

complex of other buildings. 84 apartments were evacuated. many sat in their vehicles sat outside huddling under their blankets until septa buses came to take them to yeadon borough hall. investigators say a transformer box mounted on the front of the buildings shorted out causing the fire. this is new video overnight, a philadelphia firefighter knocking down a fire at a former metal fabricator in hunting park. they got to work in temperatures that were well below freezing this morning. the water they used turned to ice. eagles fans will spend much of the morning and afternoon out in the cold, tailgating and watching the birds battle the boys. the eagles did their practicing at the linc this week to prepare themselves for the cold and the wind. the game time real field conditions will be among the coldest in the eagles history. >> the big thing don't worry

a firefighter is being treated ford a leg injury. crews continue to pour water on the building. >> a man is dead after his car ran over a burlington county road tree. it happene on bore road i h was pinned in his vehicle after it hit the tree. the man was scene. no word what caused the man to veer off the road. >> police in collingswood camden county have a suspect in the stabbing death of two women. their bodies were found at the crime scene of east narberth terrace. >> reporter: the prosecutor said the suspect is in custody. they are not saying if he is related to the victim. later through the night, investigators continue to go in and out of the collingswood home after two females were discovered dead.

a third person discovered was transported to cooper university hospital. the camden prosecutor's office is handling the case. a spokesperson confirmedne person is in custody awaiting charges related to the investigation. this unfolded on this quiet deadened street around saturday evening wheno a call to the house. neighborsoldcomforting each otha watcngves as they looked for evidence, both the home and on the block. investigators are not saying how the victims were injured, however sources are saying they were stabbed, the person who was taken to cooper university hospital is in critical condition.ing wood, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> fireworks have a new law

are protocols in place to protect our customers from criminal behavior. retail gift card association says by them from behind the counter and online directly from the retailer and register them as soon as you get them. bystanders came to a rescue when a horse struggled to get up to her feet after an accident with her trailer. her handlers were having a difficult time getting her upright. sheriff deputies flagged down a front end loader to lift her, that didn't work. eventually the mayor was back up on her feet.

out of yeadon, delaware county. fire has forced dozens of residents of an apartment complex into the bitter cold. the action cam was at the scene,

the forest creek apartments on the 300 block of north front street. early this morning, residents of one buildings heard an explosion and noticed smoke him firefighters arrived and ripped open part of the roof searching for flames and found only smoke. crews evacuated the building an cut off the complex to other buildings. the red cross said 84 apartments were evacuated. a transformer box mounted on the front of the building shorted out causing a fire. a fire in kensington injured a 5-year-old boy. fire broke out on c street at 3:00 a.m. when firefighters arrived they found heavy flames pouring out of the back of the house. officials say several residents were forced to jump from the home. nobody suffered serious injuries. the boy is being treated at saint christopher's hospital for minor burns to his hands. the red cross is finding temporary shelter for the three

residents. no word on the cause. we're tracking awful bitter cold, meteorologist chris sowers tracking that arctic blast that will not even seem to let up. in fact have we seen the worst of it yet? >> reporter: isno, not even clo. overnighter tonight and tomorrow, it will be maine-like stuff. typically what they see up through here. looking at the temperatures across the mid atlantic you can see how cold it is, we're driving this cold air from the midwest pushing into the southeast. the numbers will get worse. 16 in philadelphia. minus 3 in syracuse. look at the single digits showing up on the other side of the appalachian mountains. windchill values as low as 1 above for the i-95 corridor. allentown, one above. reading, 3 below.
