philadelphia millville and wilmington. 8 in trenton. 10 in atlantic city 8 degrees in dover. these numbers get much, much worse. you factor in the winds 23 below in the poconos ten below in philadelphia millville. ten below in lancaster. minus 7 in wilmington, minus 9 in atlantic city. forecast for today mostly sunny, it's a nice looking day it's brutally cold, we'll call it frigid, 1-6r degrees is the forecast high. windchills ranging from zero to ten below. as a matter of fact we'll go hour by hour, you can see at point in time during the afternoon is this particular model predicting windchills better than zero. by 7:00 a.m. minus 2 by 6:00 p.m., minus 3 by 8:00 p.m. record lows likely overnight tonight. as a matter of fact it will be the coldest air we've seen in almost a quarter century in philadelphia. most of us will wake up to temperatures either at zero or below. we have a wintery mix to talk

once 9 sun sets, all these numbers trail off. 12 below in trenton, 19 below in the poconos, 12 below iallentown. it's better tomorrow afternoon but not much, single digits above zero. here's a look at the high temperatures. remember the normal is 40 we're going 16 for philadelphia, 17 millville. reading, 14. allentown, 13. trenton, 15. overnight tonight get a load of this, this is the coldest air in nearly a quarter century. every number highlighted in yellow is good enough for a record low tomorrow morning. sign us one in philadelphia. if the winds don't relax the tempts will be closer to zero or a degree or two above zero. the winds go calm this is what you see first thing sunday morning. minus one in philadelphia will shatter the record low of 4 set back in 1994 when we reached five below.

meteorologist chris sowers tracking the accuweather forecast. you look warm and toasty out there. >> reporter: it's not bad at all, actually the wind is at my back i've had times when the wind is blasting me up front and it is horrible. i wanted to show you this real quick. 6:00 a.m. mount washington new hampshire this is higher in elevation here, they had a windchill of 91 below zero and grand rapids michigan, there will be their 7th day in the last two weeks where the high temperatures doesn't get above zero. it's been brutal here, but it could be worse. same song and dance we've been doing this for two wreaks now if you're outdoors for any length of time, bundle up with layers. the more layers you have, the warmer you will be. each layer insulated traps the body heat.

let's get you outside and i'm going to show you the view down in cape may where he picked up a foot of snow with the thursday's nor'easter. temperatures below freezing over the next couple of days that snow is not in a hurry to go anywhere any soon. it will be 18 to 20 somewhere in that ballpark today. 16 for that's it. the normal is 40. we started out at 8 the normal low is 26. this will be the huge cold snap that started christmasoldest of all of them. windchill values zero to ten all day long. 8 for trenton and minus two in the poconos. the windchill you mean there is 26 below. we have windchill values in up state new york, vermont, new hampshire, maine, 30 to 40 below. minus ten in lancaster minus ten with the wind in millville.
