police and emergency services personnel discovere kauffman unconscious and laying facedown on the floor. at 11:45 a.m. april kauffman was pronounced dead. the county medical examiner was contacted andnded to the scene and it was ascined that april kauffman sustained multiple gunshot wounds. i have allocated r necessary for those in my office to specifically dedicate time ton the matter. i want to thank the atlantic city field office of the fbi. -- the egg harbor township police and the lower township police department and a host of other agencies that supported this office throughout the many phases of the investigation. there are several agents from

was thought to be an accidental overdose. we discovered a long-term lyons from the pagan outlaw motorcycle gang and james kauffman was created for the mutual financial gain through the use of kauffman's medical practice for illegal drug distribution this relationship culminated on may 10th with the murder for hire of april kauffman. defend kauffman and -- had a relation centered around the medical practice and james kauffman solicited him to murder his wife. as a result of april kauffman's desire to divorce james kauffman, he was intent to rather have her killed as opposed to losing his financial

empire as he described it to several individuals. it was also through information and belief that april kauffman had learned of the many unlawful practices that james kauffman was utilizing his medical practice for. she threatened to use this as leverage to expose him to gain a favorable divorce settlement and that provided -- to have his wife killed. it's noted that the illegal drug distribution was set up in typical pattern of hierarchy, james kauffman and ojello was at the top and james kauffman would give free prescriptions for opioids like oxycodone -- to his medical practice. he had at least twoividuals

recruiting for him to obtain the scripts and then they recruited additional people to obtain illegal prescriptions. and he would receive a cash payment of $1,000 per prescription or a predetermined number of pills once the script was filled. in an individual did not have insurance they were required to have $100 to $250 per visit to jim kauffman. nodes that received the prescriptions would resell them or keep them for their personal use. sometime in 2011. james kauffman they propositioned a number of individuals to murder april kauffman, the basis was that april kauffman threatened to expose the illegal drug operation. they were unsuccessful for this recruitment for approximately a year until he found francis mull holland willing to take up the

contract. mull alcohol ald was the friend of an association and the illegal enterprise. frank mulholland received a ride to the read on may 2012 and the doors were left open and frank mulholland was given a gun to carry out his task. he was given a gun and he shot april kauffman twice. payment was made then to ferdinand and mulholland. he said he received $20,000 in cash for his role but it's speculated he may have received even more. the money was picked up on the day of the murder by ferdinand's ex-wife beverly, her role will be named in a moment. the scripts were in additional

illegal prescriptions and the money was given to ferdinand. following the murder the drug enterprise continued for improvemently five additional years and the pills changed at the time but every person to be involved in drug enterprise was a pagan or a former pagan or associate of the gang. and it unfolded in 2017 with the arrest of jim kauffman on weapons charges. in all total eight individuals were arrested. james kauffman 69 of linwood. most recently of the atlantic county justice philadelphia for first degree racketeer and first degree leading of a racketeering organization and murder. ferdinand 62 of petersburg new jersey on a first degree leader charge of racketeering organization, first murder and

conspiracy to murder james kauffman. joseph mulholland 52 of pete villas, unrelated to francis mulholland but on first degree racketeering charges. >> we are listening in to the atlanta county prosecutors damon tyner for what sounds like an elaborate furred for hire case. james kauffman against his former wife april kauffman. we hear two arrests. two arrests, james kauffman and ferdinand both now charges with murder. one kauffman, the former radio host that was found murdered in 2012. authorities are saying that april kauffman was killed according to them by her husband, because she knew of illegal activity involving

meteorologist adam joseph alicia vitarelli, sharrie williams and brian taff. 30 now and "action news" continues with breaking news we brought you first at 4:00. there are major developments now in the 2012 murder of radio host, april kauffman. atlanta county prosecutor damon tyner announced murder charges against her kauffman. he says that he is one of the people responsible for th murder in her linwood home back in may of 2012 and it was a murder for hir.47-year-old died after being shot multiple times in her bedroom. doctor kauffman was behind bars on separate charges and arrested last year for an unrelated case
