weather center. melissa what's going on. >> yeah, monica and brian, first we've got that flood warning that's just up for bucks and mercer counties because of the jamming in the river, the ice jamming to be more specific. so, this will stay up for ewing yardley morrisville even portions of trenton as minor flooding is occurring. so, as we look at trenton here, and what we are expecting in the delaware river, just minor flooding. flood stage is at 20 feet and this is expected to crest at 20 feet at 7:00 p.m. then the waters will slowly recede as we go throughout the overnight hours. minor flooding is a concern but any time you get that ice piling up it does allow the waters to rise in the river so it is a bit of a concern. fast forward into tuesday and into wednesday and we've got that accuweather alert. a winter weather advisory has been issued for areas north and west of the i-95 corridor, lancaster honey brook allentown quakertown green lane up to the poconos. included in that advisory it goes up at 5:00 a.m. on a

tuesday right through 6:00 a.m. on wednesday as we are tracking a period of light snow. you can see the area of low pressure out to the north out across the northern great lakes and that trailing cold front that will work its way eastward as we get into tuesday afternoon really tuesday night and throughout the day on wednesday. so we'll talk about what we can expect. it's cloudy for most of us on tuesday for the majority of the day but we'll tracking light snow fall in our far northwestern suburbs and lehigh valley as we get into tomorrow afternoon. the steadiest of that snowfall arrives 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night right through 7:00 a.m. on wednesday so it will be slow going for the morning commute as we get into the middle half of our work week. we'll talk more about that coming up with the full and exclusive accuweather forecast. >> be sure to wake up with the morning team for the updated track on this latest wintry blast. join matt tam meteorologist dave murphy and karen rogers starting tomorrow morning and every morning at 4:30 a.m.

there you can find the very latest stories from the field and locker room as well as your reaction from players and fans. >> all right. time right now for a check of our "action news" traffic report monday night. >> all right, gina gannon standing by in for matt pelman in the "action news" center on this mlk monday. >> i thought there would be a little more traffic on the roads. we are recovering. we had an earlier accident out there on the schuylkill expressway so thankfully your earlier accident on the schuylkill right around gulph mills has since cleared so i would say still some slight delays down to 202 but that delay should run its course. we're seeing delays on the westbound side of the schuylkill expressway. a half hour traveling between the vine out to the blue route but here in the western suburbs westbound and eastbound things are a lot nicer now. i wanted to show you the big picture so you can see how speeds are throughout the area. we still have a bit of a slow down on the northbound side of 95 from penn's landing through to allegheny. it's slow but sluggish on the westbound side of the vine street expressway. i told you about the schuylkill. earlier accident on the schuylkill has since cleared. but i want to talk to you as well, we have an accident out here on 95. this is in delaware county

with this system the timing as it moves in late tuesday night into wednesday, so it's really that morning rush commute as we go into wednesday the middle half of our work week. we'll show you the picture outside, sky6 live in hd looking at penn's landing here on this monday evening. you could see a lot of folks at the blue cross river rink and certainly bundle up with extra layers are temperatures are below average. our high today in philadelphia only 34 degrees. right now we're sitting at the freezing mark at 32. 29 for allentown, reading 26 over in cape may 32, 30 degrees in dover but now you factor in those winds coming in from the northeasterly direction so feeling like 22 in trenton, 19 in reading. the wind chill right now in millville 26 and 24 degrees in philadelphia. here's the big picture as we look at satellite6 along with action radar we've got a mostly cloudy sky. we're tracking this clipper system that's currently moving across the northern great lakes and that trailing cold front pressing into the ohio

valley so this will work its way eastward as we get into tomorrow and really tomorrow night is when we track the steadiest of that snow fall into the i-95 corridor. for the next 12 hours lots of clouds on the way. it's not as cold tonight as it has been in recent nights. we dip down to 22 in the suburbs and 26 degrees in philadelphia for the overnight low with that east to northeasterly wind. so, the setup for us on tuesday it's mostly cloudy and really that snow is developing at night. i do think you'll find some light snow showers in the lehigh valley and up through the poconos with the majority of that precipitation moving through tomorrow night. 36 in allentown for the high temperature, 40 in philadelphia, 43 in dover and 42 degrees at the boardwalk in atlantic city. we'll time out the precipitation for you. 11 o'clock in the morning you notice that light snow still off to our north and west and by 5 o'clock in the evening, it's almost like the snow in the northwest suburbs hits a brick wall and it can't move any farther to the south and east until we get into late tomorrow night and during the overnight hours. you can notice by 6 o'clock

wednesday morning, we finally have that snow and the snow showers approaching the i-95 metro area and points to the south and east. and there snow will that finally exit the coast as we get into wednesday afternoon with clouds breaking for some late day sunshine. so, as far as the impacts and what we are expecting and why we've issued that accuweather alert, it's really tomorrow night into wednesday morning. 7:00 p.m. right through 11:00 p.m. low concerns with the snow but during the overnight hours wednesday and for that morning rush there will be a high concern, slow going and slick travel as we get into wednesday morning so certainly allow some extra time. here's the five day forecast showing you on tuesday cloudy with snow developing at night, a high temperature of 40. early snow around on wednesday, then afternoon sun, a high of 35. brisk and chilly in the wake of that on thursday, 37. milder, look at that, by friday afternoon we're up to 43. flirt wind gust 50 -- 30ing with 50 as we get into saturday. more details on what the

a thaw last week and rain. as we watched today drivers dodged this pothole on city avenue, no direct hits but these orphaned wheel covers along the nearby sidewalk apparently evidence some drivers had not been so fortunate. at this pep boys on allegheny avenue an uptick this weekend of bent wheels and ruined tires says the store's assistant service manager. >> past two days probably about 10, probably 10 vehicles with damage. >> reporter: reports of problems along the winding unforgiving curves of lincoln drive pavement adjacent to drain inlets often giving way prompting tire damage. the streets department scrambling city wide to fill the voids as fast as possible. >> we did go out and fill potholes as of last friday we filled 1600 potholes across the city of philadelphia. >> reporter: pothole damage can add up. aaa estimates about $3 billion a year nationally. as for an individual driver. >> 120 to $500 roughly. >> reporter: ouch. >> it does hurt. >> reporter: philadelphia has 2500 miles of streets excluding the interstates. the best way to alert

transformed a nation." in philadelphia's germantown section today students from roosevelt elementary will be coming back to a more beautiful building. volunteers painted and cleaned their facility today as part of the mlk jr. day of service and some parents were honored for all their hard work here. 200 volunteers helped today. looks beautiful. nice job. students from haverford middle school in havertown spent the day giving back. they put together more than 112,000 meals for rise against hunger an international relief organization that distributes that food to the world's most vulnerable. >> students from sanford school in wilmington spent this day in service. this group volunteered at the clothing bank of delaware. students sorted and organized clothing at the warehouse as part of the school's 13th community day of service. this was just one of many products done by sanford students today on and off campus. employees without door staff prepared for a big breakfast for the families staying at the ronald mcdonald house in camden. throughout the day four other

organizations stopped by to help out. they took care of everything from prepping food to cleaning up around the house. >> all right. time right now to check conditions on the roads for you out there. >> gina gannon standing by for matt pelman live in the "action news" traffic center. hey, gina. >> hi, guys. things have been pretty busy out there right now and we're seeing an accident still out here although some good news, it's been pushed to the shoulder it's still out here though in delaware county on 95 southbound right at 420. earlier it was blocking that left lane. now it's only off to the shoulder but it's still causing delays back to the airport and you can see your travel time right now between the vine and the blue route about 26 minutes so definitely give yourself time but that that northbound side i like that in the green running along very smoothly. but have a new issue to report for you right now. if you're heading on the pa turnpike westbound just past fort washington we have an accident out there blocking that left lane and you can see how delayed are you from willow grove all the way out to 202. give yourself time there. your speed censor about 10 miles per hour so definitely allow for more time. pack your patience when traveling in that area. the vine street expressway i like what i'm seeing here.

>> a community center in camden got much needed tlc as part of mlk day. volunteers gave the community center a fresh coat. the mayor got involved. community center provides a number of services for children ages five to 17. looks lovely. well, for two hours this morning people packed into the paoli fire company. they worked on various hands-on community service projects honoring the legacy of dr. king including packing up books and making book marks. others put together boxes of food to be donated. this day of service event was hosted by representative warren camp. dr. king of course was all about tolerance and understanding. that was the theme of this event in lawrence township mercer county. volunteers gathered at the united way and put together

got that winter weather advisory that has been issued it goes up at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow right through 10:00 a.m. on wednesdays. this is really for our northwest suburbs for long caster honey brook up through green lane quakertown and even through the poconos. the highest snow totals mainly look to fall however as we get into tuesday night and into that rush on wednesday morning. we'll talk about the temperatures and see what's going on here. well below average the high today only 34. 32 right now in the city 29 for allentown and red, teens up in the poconos. dover 30 at the freezing mark for millville cape may and atlantic city at the airport. satellite6 along with action radar showing you it's mostly cloudy. this is the area of low pressure that we're tracking that's moving over the northern great lakes. this rides up to the north but we're tracking this cold front right now pressing into the ohio valley. this will head our way as we get into tuesday afternoon, really tuesday night is when we do expect the steadiest of that snowfall to arrive. so, for the rest of tonight, it is mostly cloudy. not as cold tonight as it was last night.

we dip down to 24 in lancaster, 27 in dover, 29 in cape may and trenton falls down to 25 degrees. we'll time out the precipitation for you and future tracker6 showing you tuesday 6 o'clock in the evening, a lot of that snow still confined to our northwest suburbs, northern lancaster northern berks lehigh counties and up through the poconos and as we get into midnight. it's almost like we're hitting a wall with this precipitation and it's not until this area of low pressure develops off the coast that we start to see a progression to the south and east. 5:30, 6 o'clock on wednesday morning we still have that snow overhead and that's the concern and that's why we've issued that accuweather alert because of the timing of this precipitation and as it moves on through. so, wednesday 9:30 in the morning we're still tracking that snow fall. it exits the coast late on wednesday evening. so, as far as the snow fall totals, about a coating to an inch for millville atlantic city southern new jersey and also into dover. philadelphia the i-95 metro area and points to the south

and east about one to 2 inches. then you have to travel up to the north and west for the poconos allentown reading and lancaster to find two to 4 inches of snow and the majority of this falls as we get into tuesday night and into early wednesday morning. here's the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast. on tuesday, it's cloudy with snow developing at night, a high up to 40. early snow on wednesday, then afternoon sun, a high of 35. brisk and chilly on thursday but we're dry and at 37. on friday, it is a milder afternoon, a high temperature in at 43. saturday sunshine and clouds for the start of the weekend. it's nice, up to 49. warmer and cloudy on sunday with the eagles at the linc by then a high of 54. maybe rain developing sunday night. monday it's mild with rain likely, high coming in at 56 degrees guys. we'll track the snow for you tomorrow night. >> thank you melissa. gets updates any time yourself check storm tracker radar. the 6abc app a free download
