kentucky the first school shooting of 2018 and it's only january. one 15-year-old gunman two students killed a total of 12 shot, five more injured and here is another number to get your attention it's at least the 283 school shooting since 2013. it is tuesday night and the big story on action news tonight is gunfire chaos and death inside marshall county high school police say the 15-year-old gunman calmly and methodically fired away in a crowded atrium in the words of a student it was one right after the other you could see his arm jerking as he was pulling the trigger and we heard from other students as well. >> i heard everybody else screaming and they all started running and then you know i saw there was a lot of blood everywhere and people getting shoved down so i took off and i started running you know and i

was scared for my life. >> i took off my headphones and turned around and everyone was broken up and running, i saw the flashes from the gunshots and by that time i was just running. >> reporter: the teenage gunman is in custody, lawmen have said nothing about a motive. and this just in tonight four people have been shot in north philadelphia including two 13-year-old boys. the gunfire erupted on ridge avenue an hour and a half ago and there is surveillance video to sort out what happened. >> on the camera recording that we did view it appears to be a drive-by shooting, someone appears to be firing from the window passenger side of the vehicle going south on 24th. >> reporter: investigators don't know who's responsible or what the motive was a 52-year-old man and the boys are in stable condition a 22-year-old man who was shot multiple times is in

critical. police in chester delaware county are dealing with their first murder of the year officers called to 500 block of mosley court at 8:30 and found the victim shot to death inside a car, at this time police do not have any anyone in custody police charged to adults with attempted murder in the death of a four-year-old boy those charges could go to murder when officials get autopsy results. according to authorities the boy's mother and her boyfriend beat the little boy to death because he spilled his cereal. action news reporter wendy is live outside the montgomery courthouse in norris town and wendy you have the full story. >> reporter: jim, the details of this chilling crime are so horrific the early autopsy reports showing significant internal bleeding a pattern of abuse and tread marks on the boy's buttocs being beaten so badly with a shoe and that is just the beginning.

it's hard for district attorney kevin steele to fathom what police say happened on this street on lukens and willow grove. >> what the child went through is outrageous, a senseless killing of a child. >> reporter: according to this affidavit the pregnant mother of tahjir smith was found wandering outside her house the four-year-old laying nearby limp and unresponsive according to her confession the mother and her boyfriend keiff king were disciplining the boy for spilling his cereal and made him get in a push up position. they then laid the boy on the bed with his pants and underwear removed, grabbed a blue levi sandel and repeatedly struck him he said king punched tahjir in the back of a head before putting him in an scalding shower and burning him the autopsy also found evidence of several rib fractures and injuries inflicted from a sustainedev eveever event and s not the first time this

overdoses one of them deadly that person died on queen avenue in pensville the city of philadelphia is getting national attention tonight for its newest plan to deal with the heroin crisis. supervised injection sites. the city approved the development of the clinic so addicts can safely get high. the facilities would distribute clean, new syringes but also offer access to rehabilitation. officials say the proposed clinics would be funded and operated by nonprofit organizations or medical organizations not the government. however, pennsylvania's attorney general josh shiparo has a problem with the plan saying quote sanctioning a safe injection site prevents significant public safety concerns and that changes in state and federal law would need to occur for these sites to operate legally. pennsylvania's 7th district congressman pat today acknowledged that he developed a deep affection for a former aid and never harassed her and never

stadium is encased in glass and you can see the lights are on inside and get a good vantage points and when we went in there it's a state of the art facility not a single bad seat in that place. it looks new and got to be honest it even still smells new it's impressive from both the inside and outside and once you get in and see it in person it's not hard to realize why u.s. bank stadium is playing host to superbowl 52 and today we got the first glimpse inside as the big changes are made and spoke with the field director for the nfl the first big job is painting the field. >> the field kind of turned into the neutral or superbowl site, we worked with the stadium staff here and removed the vikings branding, we pulled out the end zones and pulled out the 50 and the norseman is out and do the artwork for the team. >> the eagles end zone is painted on now and i think
