sky 6hd taking a live look at part of our very green skyline. the super bowl exactly one week from today. it is going to be a fabulous time and the eagles of course leaving for minnesota today. we're going to have live coverage as they touchdown in minnesota. fly eagles fly folks! take a look at this. today they will soar and let's go first to meteorologist david murphy with more on our temperatures this morning. hi, david. >> hi, there guys. well we are looking at a rainy start across the region a lot of you do have rain falling. we'll get you some rards and a little bit of that. 49 by 10:00. notice how the temperatures remain fairly steady through the day. i'm only expected a high of 51 degrees and across the region we're mild. as the rain starts to get out of here we begin to see those

walking with some friends at 11:00 last night. they were approached by the suspect. there was an argument. police say the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. that victim later died at the hospital. he was visiting from hair rust burg and not a temple student. >> a student says she was sexually assaulted by a man in her apartment. the attack happened around 6:00 yesterday morning. it's believed the man got into the woman's apartment through an unlocked door. the victim says her attacker was intoxicated and did not have a weapon. drexel police and philadelphia police are asking anyone with information to contact them. steve wynn has stepped down. he is being accused of sexual

philadelphia. as we take a conditions out there and wet conditions too. you can see that there is, on sky 6, a lot of cloud cover and there is a little bit of rain out there as we take a look at current radar profile, maybe we're not going to have that. we are looking at rain coming through most of the region right now. most of it is light. a little bit heavier down south and as we go through the afternoon and into the evening as you'll see, rain is going to begin to pop down a little bit farther south. and probably clearing philadelphia by 1:00 or 2:00 and getting to the shore a little bit later on. there you see it radar currently and obviously pretty wet out there and south jersey slightly wetter conditions than what we're seeing in the northern suburbs. 50 degrees currently it is all rain and not snow because of the mild air in place this morning. winds out of the southwest at 8 miles per hour and your wind chill is 50. as we take a look at future

tracker 6, you can see how between now and noon we'll probably still wet in philadelphia but by about lunchtime places like allentown and reading may be drying out. you're still going to be cloudy and there could be lingering drizzle but the bulk of the rain will be to your south. in philadelphia all the way to south jersey by lunchtime. and at some point between 1:00 and 2:00, philadelphia and the rest of the i-95 corridor begins to dry out and after that we may have some residual rain showers that continue to pop in all the way past 6:00. it might be later tonight where areas down the shore finally see the end of this. where it does stop raining it will probably stay fairly cloudy. here's where temperatures are going. by 8:00, 506789 by 10:00, 51. by noon, 51, 3:00, 51. that is going to be your high today and finally back to 48 by 6:00. and as you saw by 6:00, things are drying out a bit. 51 in philadelphia and trenton

just 49 in wilmington, 52 in millville you can see very even numbers across the region, 48 in cape may this afternoon. and then we turn our attention into monday evening tuesday morning t far enough off the coast not to have a major impact but a frontal boundary feeds on the moisture and there is a possibility starting late monday night of some rain change to go snow and snow coming in for the tuesday morning commute. it will be a minor accumulation, maybe only half inch to an inch but it could be enough to give us slippery travel for that mornin cifou are traveling to minnesota, tuesday is the day to avoid it. it looks like that's the one where there could be a little bit of snow out there and then you can see how the colder air looks though by super rsday and bowl sunday that you'll be back up to about 21 delightful de improve for super bowl sunday. there could be some flurries as you tailgate heading into the game.

>> we shall see. seven days to go. >> it's getting exciting. all right so a little exciting weather this morning. the roads are a bit wet if you have reason to get out there early and you can see the conditions on sky 6 with lots of precipitation coming down across the region. most of it is actually light rain but it's covering a good portion of the region right now. and as we take a look at storm tracker 6 double scan, you get that picture. we've got the rain through the northern and western suburbs. some breaks up by allentown. it's fairly light and this yellow in south jersey just a little bit steadier. i don't this is heavy enough to produce pundling on the roadways. it's mild this morning, 50 degrees in philadelphia, still 45 in allentown, 50 in trenton, 49 in wilmington, 52 in millville and just 42 in cape may. future tracker 6 shows you between now all the way up to

noon, we are looking at clearing in the northern and western suburbs. i should say dry and fair amount of cloud cover by the by. by philadelphia by lunchtime as well as the immediate suburbs it's probably still somewhat rainy. and of course through south jersey and delaware more of the same. later in the afternoon it does look like by maybe 1:00, 2:00, something like that, the i-95 corridor begins to also see that clearing and the farther south are along the coast line and through south jersey and delaware, the better chance even as late as 6:00 of seeing lingering rain drops. it will probably be later tonight before the shore finally sees the end of all that rain. gradual drying from north to south but it will be very gradual move of that rain pushing to the south. up in the lehigh cloudy. 50 degrees the high there it will be mild. at the shore cloudy skies and

damp the morning and afternoon with the possible breakup late in the day and evening high 50 degrees as well. cloudy skies for the most part in philadelphia, damp conditions with rain probably hanging in there until some time after lunchtime, around 1:00 or 2:00 we expect it to get a little bit better. there could be someizzle for a of 51 degrees. obviously not as wet during the late afternoon hours as it is during the morning. overnight we will see some clearing. it will be cooler getting down to au philadelphia, winds picking up, 7-14 miles per hour. tomorrow we'll have our eyes on far ea of low pressure off the enough off of coast to give us little impact but there will be a weak feature coming in from the west and overnight it will be cold enough to start out as rain on monday evening but change over to snow. it does not look like a big accumulation of snow, maybe only about an inch in most spots, but it could be timed such that by the time we get into the tuesday morning commute it's a little

bit slippery. keep your eyes on that monday morning through tuesday morning period for a minor accumulation of snow. after that an arctic attack is on the way. cold air zooming right down into the northeast corridor not too bad around here but up in minneapolis will be about 10 to 20 degrees below normal and we are bringing up that sunday temperature a little bit in minneapolis. it looks like the coldest days will be friday and saturday with single digit highs with 21 degrees for tailgatetors before the indoor game. 51 degrees, cloudy and damp today, rain gradually tapering off from north to south as we go through the morning and afternoon. and increasing clouds all over again on monday a high of 47 and in the evening there could be a little rain developing. that rain will change over to light snow by tuesday morning and tuesday morning's compute could be a little a little slippery. 36 wednesday, 50 mostly cloudy on thursday and thursday night there could be some more rain that eventually changes over to snow.

and friday we're going with that rain to snow changeover and is that could be another day where we see slippery conditions. so keep your eyes on tuesday and friday. saturday it looks like we're back to 41 degrees, sunny and cold. but the early word on super bowl sunday as of now is maybe up to about 40 for a high. >> that will be good for super bowl. all right, thank you. a wave of well wishes may have helped a sick little girl get on the road to recovery. >> reporter: you're looking at one of the happier moments for the family just before their lives would change. little ruby dancing with her father. but then ruby started complaining about some knee pain. in june she was diagnosed with cancer. stage 4 neuroblastoma. >> the scariest moment i've ever had in my life. >> reporter: the four-year-old had to spend the holidays in the hospital but then a nurse came up with an idea. this mailbox so friends and family could send letters and

encouragement. thenle call went out on facebook and the letters really started to pour in. >> i brought her up and she went whoa, that was her reaction. and it was really exciting for her. >> reporter: and with every positive piece of mail, ruby got stronger. taking her first steps with her walker. then using a bicycle. and finally walking with her father. after 81 days in the hospital, ruby recently came home and continued that feel-good treatment, sitting down with her dad to read all those letters. >> dear ruby, hope you get well soon. >> and catching up with her little brother. >> how are you feeling? >> good. >> much better? yeah. >> reporter: the family's garage filled with letters, more than 100,000 of them, to keep the positive vibes flowing. tonight ruby is still fighting, but with so many helping her, she's sending a message back to them. >> i love you.
