fans already there, i'm sure you can feel the excitement buildings. >> reporter: for sure, good morning, nydia and gray from minneapolis be if you've been watching our coverage all week you know in the mall of america has been a hub of activity. this is where all the radio reporters have been, the players have been coming into to do interviews. interesting overnight all that disappearance most of the operations as you might imagine moved to the stadium. yesterday and today, of course, big days for arrivals for eagles fans many flocking to the mall of america to check things out. you heard the eagles chant everywhere at the airport, echoing here through the mall. we caught up with a bunch of them taking it all in. >> walking into the mall, lots of lights, cameras, it's crazy, lots of signs everywhere. come here for a victory. that's what we're here for. >> this is our first treck out,

we figure we would come here and we heard about the media and decided to check this out and heading into town and hang out with hundreds of our closest eagles friends. >> it was a long drive we left wednesday night and got here yesterday afternoon. it's a great atmosphere at the mall. having a good time, seeing celebrities. >> i don't hear any other fan base yelling, i hear fly eagles fly everywhere we go. even though it's cold out, you don't notice it's chilly, it's an amazing time. people here in minneapolis are perplexed by eagles fans, the chants were ringing everywhere yesterday all weekend long i'm sure that's what's going to happen. they are telling people to come to the mall of america tomorrow to get screens and what they

will do is board trains and go into the u.s. bank stadium. they said it will save a lot of time. they are telling people not to wait too long to go, if they get there too late tomorrow afternoon they will be waiting outdoors, you don't want to be doing that here in minneapolis. gray and nydia, back to you. >> it will be 6 degrees on game day. your green jacket looks fabulous, i want to borrow it when you get back. >> reporter: thank you. >> the birds wrapped up their final practice before super bowl yesterday. as the clock winds down, the pressure is increasing. >> especially since the eagles are taking on arguably the best team in sports history. jamie apody and ducis rogers spoke to the team about the patriots and how they are keeping calm before the game. the day before the super bowl between the eagles and the

patriots. >> reporter: the team held their final practice and doug pederson told them to stay loose and enjoy the moment. they are doing just that as they get ready for the biggest moment of their careers. the eagles made a point to keep things light from dancing, to donning wrestle masks this team has been focused on fun. bring up tom brady county patriots that mood changes quickly. >> they are not here by mistake, we're not here by mistake. if we make this about the patriots we might as well pack up our bleep and go open. >> reporter: the birds are not intimated, not in awe, but instead a model for what they would like to become some day, a dynasty. >> brady has gone 8 out of 16 years in the super bowl, which is unbelievable, you can't comprehend those numbers. in order to beat the best, you have to be the best. >> reporter: even with his five super bowl rings, tom brady

is actually right here, the small little piece of energy diving across the high plains states machine -- minneapolis picking up one to three inches of snow. chicago 2 to 3. the snow bands stays up here across southern can buffalo and erie. milder air starts flooding the region. the rain/snow line was down here, but lifts to the north as the milder air gets involved. part of the reason why the cold air is re arctic high up here to lock that colder air in. as the system approaches to the southwest all the cold air retreats up into canada. the result is rain and not snow. here's the closeup on future tracker, 9:00 a.m., temperatures are above freezing which is a good sign. wilmington, 34. philadelphia, 35. rain moves in shortly after the lunchtime hour. far western counties, lancaster, 36 and raining by 1:00 p.m.

maybe chester, west chester area same. philadelphia not getting into the city until maybe 2:00 p.m. or so. as we watch the rain/snow line, everybody seeing rain at 5:00 p.m. some of the rain coming down at a good clip indicated by the yellows and orangeses. 10:30, 11:00 the rain is shut off. raining at the jersey shore, but it will be coming to an end at midnight. as well. poconos picking up two to four inches of snow tomorrow afternoon and mixing with sleet and freezing rain. the lehigh valley starting out as snow briefly and then you go over to rain, as well. a coating to an inch and washes i-95 metro area all points south and east, cold rain temperatures in the 40s. overnight tonight, cloudy skies and cold, 24 degrees outlying suburbs, 28 for center city.

the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, shows temperatures on a rollercoaster ride we're down today, up tomorrow, down again monday. tuesday and wednesday, milder, more rain wednesday afternoon, colder, thursday and friday. gray? >> all right, chris thank you for the update. happening right now police are searching for two or three suspects accused of assaulting an off-duty police officer. police say an officer confronted the man in the alley of the officers' home on the 4400 block of living ton street at 3:00 a.m. that's when the officer was punched in the face. the suspects got away in a newer blank loan sedan. police were called to 60th and market around 10:30 p.m. there they found an unidentified shooting victim. the victim was rushed to penn presbyterian hospital. no word on their condition. no one was injured in a

the week so far. one of the many eagles fans heading to minnesota this weekend is a local school bus driver. gary or as he is known to thousands over the career -- over the year, mr. gary received a super bowl ticket. >> reporter: it was like any other monday at a school bus stop in south jersey. this is the last stop of the day for bus driver mr. gary. after 26 years on the job, parents say he has learned the names of countless children and become known for his eagles pride. >> i wanted to congratulate him

the morning after the eagles won the nfc championship. he was so happy. >> reporter: parties remainy -- parents amy smith and her husband started a go fund me page and raised $5,000 for tickets and airfare. >> we're sending you and a guest to super bowl. [cheers and applause]. >> tremendously surprised. i had no idea, no idea. i've had so many followers over the year. >> mr. gary jokes he talked about retiring and kept on driving the bus and kept on teaching the kids the eagles fight song. >> it's been an amazing career here. >> i enjoyed mr. gary.

all week long. it took three days to build everything up here with the radio reporters. somehow overnight it disappeared everything moved over to u.s. bank stadium. eagles fans have been pouring into the city. we saw a lot of them here yesterday. the eagles chants echoing through the hall of the massive mall in minneapolis. they are so excited to be here. we caught up with some of them and asked about their first impression. >> we're going through a lot of emotions. i've been a season ticketholder for 49 years went with my father who passed away last year the biggest fan you could imagine. >> i'm so stoked it's a great experience. i have not done it at all, yet either. >> it's great, seeing all the players and stuff like that. we're staying at the team hotel. we saw howie rosen and them.

demand from our area. sales are up 31% compared to last year. the biggest chunk of tickets are being sold to people in pennsylvania making up 13% of sales. new jerseyians are buying another 7%. the going rate $5,300. the cheapest ticket to get you inside will cost 3100 bucks. from the teammates and coaches and fans, there are many factors contributing to the eagles mental state heading into the super bowl. ali gorman sat down with a mental health professional about how the eagles should think if they want to win. >> reporter: from the post game dancing, interacting with fans and the infamous dog masks it's clear to do that eagles are having a blast. >> i'm enjoying the moment.

>> we're here i'm having fun with it. >> i think that's huge when you can keep it loose, if you have fun, jen is a metal health coaching professional. i spoke we are 9 years ago when the phillies went to the world series. now she sees a lot of similarities between the two philadelphia teams on top of the eagles enjoying the ride and staying relaxed. she noticed something she calls compassionate coaching. >> it's been understanding leadership from a heart level instead of a brain level. if there's compassion and empathy that players feel from their coaches they will go for a wall for them. >> reporter: she said the eagles are shaking off mistakes and rebounding quickly. as for the underdog mentality be many in sports sky -- psychology say that that can be an asset.

windchills in the single digits and low teens. 22 degrees in philadelphia. dewpoint of 6. your windchill is ten, and winds are out of the southwest at 11 miles per hour. again, we'll continue to see the blustery windchills throughout the morning hours during the afternoon they get a little bit better, but cold with feels-like temperatures in the 20s. speaking of 20s we're seeing that now. 20 in allentown. >> reporter: millville, 21, down to 8 degrees in millville. teens in the far western suburbs. farther to the west, lots of cold, dallas, 42. wichita, 33. new orleans, 46. minneapolis, 15 degrees. this is the leading edge of the bad stuff that's getting ready to pour down into the lower 48. this will be the coldest super bowl since super bowl xvi in 1982 when the bangles took on the 49ers at the pontiac dome in

detroit, massachusetts. windchills tomorrow below zero. if you're traveling to minneapolis, pack everything you will need to walk around in multiple layers out there. windchill advisory in effect tonight windchills 20 to 30 below. this storm travels east 24, 48 hours, it means rain not snow. as this cold air retreats into canada. today is a chilly one, reading and allentown, 31. millville, 35. dover, 35. overnight tonight it's cold and dry, just cloudy out there, 24 degrees in allentown, dover, 26. trenton, 25 and philadelphia bottoming out at 27. we fast forward it to tomorrow. we stop the clock arnold 9:00. note the -- around 9. note the numbers, they are above

32. around the midday hour we see the precip move in. it is rain for the far western counties. the snow is well to the north. reading, 36. allentown, 36. philadelphia is up to 42 at that point. the rain/snow line it may start out to the south of allentown and reading, it's going to quickly lift to the poconos by 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. poconos the lone location that sees snow throughout the duration of this event. you can mix in with sleet and freezing rain. everybody else, it's a cold rain, it comes down heavy at times during the super bowl. 10:00 p.m. and midnight everything comes to an end west to east at that point, temperatures are starting to crash on the backside. as far as snowfall totals nothing for the viewing area. a coating to an inch in the northern portions of the lehigh valley, that wash away. i think it will be a cold rain here. 2 to 4 for the poconos.
