known as parade day. >> i'm brian taff. >> and i'm sharrie williams. we are high above the parkway for what was one of the biggest celebrations in philadelphia history. it has been celebration city all day long. let look from chopper 6 h people leave the con. the look over 30th street station a transportation hub we know well in the delaware valley as people try to make their way home. we are covering this parade from start to finish. lets go now and continuing our coverage with "action news" chad pradelli. right there if the middle of the party all day today. >> reporter: fantastic day, we are just to the northern and eakins oval. you had all the fans but they cleared out in a hurry. you see all the debris left behind. not a lot of people. we have these crazies they are excited and they have the spirit. and police to the right are making sure that everyone take

its easy and let the cleanup begin this was the place to be when the buses began to roll in. i want to show you video. the lead bus nick foles and carson wentz. hoisting the lombardi trophy and fans when nuts. good things happen to those that wait. that was the case for fans in the art museum area. some arrived at 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. and the buses rolled in and excited. and one player i caught up with jason kelce who gave that famous or infamous speech.is what he said shortly before giving that speech. >> i was doing the parade in philadelphia i may as well go philadelphia style and go mummers. >> what was the feeling on the float like as a player after waiting this long. >> it was incredible. and seeing everybody and seeing it's support of the people it has phenomenal.

line. we walked this line and it literally wraps around the train station and dumps off on to jfk into the direction of 20th street. the problem here is while a lot of people say they had it easy getting into the station because it was very staggered. the problem now is everyone is trying to leave at the same time. now what we have seen just in like the last couple of minutes, and that there was a line trying to get into the septa station terminal. that thinned out a bit. and septa was doing a good job of keeping the crowds on the upper platforms to get down to the trains to make sure the trains they were getting on were the empty trains getting them out of the city back to the suburbs. and again people we spoke to say it's challenging trying to wait if the lines and some waiting an hour or more and many happy considering the fact they were

it's incredible. brian and sharrie, sara and i were here since 7:00 this morning the first time i can f speak. the phrase is used over and over again just an ocean a sea of humanity people packed so tightly and amazing how controlled and things went as smoothly as you can possibly imagine. in one area a huge amount. >> a few stragglers are left and the police may out number them at this point. we are seeing the parkway cleaned out. they came for this. let go to the video and the moment they rolled past us. the philadelphia eagles, the super bowl champions and world champions. it was incredible the crowds were pressed together and shoulder to shoulder waiting for hours. families and lots of young people this is a moment they will never forget with the

confetti coming down and standing next to people they never met before. suddenly it's their new best friends their fellow eagles fan zbrz everybody was family for this one moment. and the cleanup. oh my gosh the cleanup. i did a story oe on top of a landfill this is like that. a tremendous am of trash. it's really just evidence of a huge celebration that went very very well. people were leaving with smiles on their faces and everybody is happy. again, as i said this was a day they will never forget and as people walked away. they were saying we'll see you next year. very hopeful for another repeat. >> very cool. >> brian and sharrie back to you guys. >> all right guys cool thank you. thanks for great coverage and you mention the trash i have no doubt if we drive down the streets tomorrow we won't know

getting all the people that came into center city philadelphia back home this afternoon. it is a mad dash to get out of town on to the trains and buses and matt pellman is standing by with the first check of the "action news" traffic report. >> we tried to impress upon everybody it would be a great day along the parade route and the transit would be challenging and that has proven to be the case. but what i'm most impressed by is the patience of the people on the roads and rails. and people seem to be understanding and okay with the fact it is taking a while. and this afternoon it will take a while to get out of town if you were at the parade and going out of one of two stations not suburban jefferson or 30th street. wilmington newark and paoli thorndale and trenton line. we see long lines of people trt otrains. chopper 6 hd was over head of

"action news" reporter john rawlins is standing by outside of suburban station not far from where we are positioned. what is the scene? >> reporter: well first of all i'm not at suburban station, that is closed i'm at 15th and jfk. and the party is definitely over over here. cleanup began a half hour ago and they made a lot of progress across the street but have a lot of work to do as far as cleanup. big crowds packed this area 15th and jfk asn a parade went by today. folks headed for the exists and were out in the cold for a long time. they may have been celebrating but they were cold. >> fly eagles fly! >> revellers poured in and there was a carnival atmosphere zm hats, hand warmers, beanies.

southbound means single digit speeds near the airport and schuylkill westbound toward king of prussia an accident westbound approaching 202 and fire crews are on the scene taking out the right lane and jammed solid coming west of conshohocken. and maybe not in their car but on foot. check out the huge crowd of people walking across the ben franklin bridge in camden and walking slowly because people are trying to use the ben franklin bridge or maybe on a train. we see big delays this afternoon long lines at jefferson and 30th street stations and some subways are by passing stations because of overcrowding. we'll check it again in the 5:00 hour. >> all right a busy commute home this afternoon. >> still blown away that all

and gray hall who took in the sights and sounds of the parade today. hi guys. >> hi sharrie and brian, what a day this has been. when eagles fans do it they do it big. they are waiting for this moment for their entire lives. the eagles are no longer underdogs with you they are super bowl champions. folks started to lineup long before the parade starts and you can feel the passion and excitement in the air. >> it has just been electric what an awesome inspiring day. when the crowd came by and saw the eagles players their beloved players now philadelphia legends the crowd erupted it was absolutely awesome. one of my favor signs was we prayed and we overcame and we conquered. it encapsuled the season. and you can see here live what a difference a few hours makes.
