this is for you! >> here are your super bowl lii champions your philadelphia eagles, the triumphant march down the steps of the philadelphia art museum to the sounds of screaming fan. it is a day of course fans are waiting decades to see. and they came and they saw and now that the parade is over the mass exodus from this massive celebration is underway. you are taking a live look from chopper 6 hd at 30th street station and the bustling activity. the thursday night we'll hear from rick williams in just auto moment. and the big story is parade day for your world champion philadelphia eagles. >> birds fans from near and far flocked to the city for the historic moment. now that the party is over and it's time to head home.

and proving to a challenge for people that took public transit. >> people are being patient and wonderful about it. christie aleto is live now at 30th street station. what is the situation now? >> reporter: slowly but surely the lines are moving. you are looking at live pictures of septa regional rail line, the last hour the lines for the airport has gone down significantly. this line for the wilmington line is very, very long and spans two blocks and turns over to market street. and also i want to show you back here in the distance that is the line for the paoli line it curves around 30 and street station and dumps on to jfk in the direction of 20th street. a lot of people have mixed emotions about waiting in the line. some people say this have been here 45 minutes to an hour. others are simply frustrated

with how slow everything is moving. >> they didn't account for the number of travellers going home. coming to we had tickets it was good and going home they didn't do so much. >> septa regional rails to the right. >> i spent $10 to get a commuter pass to get home. i don't think i'll will he abe to do that. that is unfortunate will getting out is pretty rough. >> not that bad it may get worse though. >> it's hectic though. it's philly we are having fun and enjoying it. >> that is the general consensus out here. you know what? hey we are out here celebrating our team and happy excited eagles fans in line. but of course the line is long and septa warned people about that and they are asking people to be patient and many people are but some like you heard are a little frustrated.

closed to cars and they could walk down the bridge. for the most part people are rolling with the punches. we warned you yesterday it would not be easy and indeed it hasn't been. getting out everyone tries to do that. outbound runs until 9:30 tonight. and may take some of you to nearly 9:30 to get on a train. some trains on the market frankford line heading westbound bypassing the 8th street station. it was too crowded and into new jersey on the patco line and all trains are running eastbound every 8 minutes. traffic running on the vine street expressway not quickly. they are get ougt of town and off the city streets like the ben franklin parkway and on the highway. west vine backed up to the schuylkill. and the schuylkill is a slow go stop and go the whole way from

that was the perfect backdrop for a super day and one of the biggest block parties the city has ever seen. >> they dropped us off 10 blocks away and it felt like a pilgrimage, but everyone was so happy and they were packed in line sardines and we saw the motorcade and the buses with all the players it was an amazing feeling. the buildup of anticipation and confetti and fireworks and the speeches and a lot of eagles cheers and swoop had an easy job trying to rally up the crowd. everyone was really excited. >> as did the cheerleaders the players were everything you wanted to cheer for. t glimpse of the players, they did the impossible winning super bowl lii and the biggest ovations were for nick foles and

mocked the vikings chant by chanting foles, foles, fole and for wentz. here they are from the rally here at the museum of art. >> the moment i got here i knew this was a special place. special locker room and special organization. special coaching. and some seriously specialfans. i knew it wouldn't take long until we were standing up here. >> to be a part of the philadelphia eagles and part of these guys it's one of the greatest things i have ever done in my life. >> they doubted us at players and a team we stepped up and loved each other more and had more fun than anybody in the league. >> malcolm jenk winins the captain. they are tough gritty and talk trash and like to fight.

>> lets goadelli with the pumped fans today and they got prime spots this morning and loved every minute. >> hey monica. the fans are out of here and the cleanup is underway i want to show you behind here it looks m bomb of bottles and beer cans i have not seen anything like this in they have the heavy equipment out streets department does a fantastic job and we we are here north of eakins oval when the buses made their way to the art museum. here was the scene the quarterbacks leading the way and they had the lombardi trophy above their heads and the crowd went nuts. they were waiting since 5:00, morning to have their players is the super bowl winning performance. a little later players got off the bus and i caught up with jason kelce and more on that a 6:00 p.m. and i caught up with nelson agholor here is what he had to

revellers you said wait guys i have to wave to the eagles they are coming by. >> today's championship parade was a live long thrill for eagles fans and with so many people packed into the city for the event there were a few injuries. health reporter and registered nurse ali gorman is live along the parkway with that part of the story. >> reporter: hi guys when have you a crowd as big as the crowd out here today. you'll see some medical incidents, the medical tent behind me is already starting to come down but the staff there today worked very quickly to treat people and in some cases get some to the hospital. >> medical staff at 21st and the parkway were busy. most people seeking treatment had had minor injuries or severe intoxication. but we saw one gentlemen wheeled in his chest bloody, his friended say he was stabbed and police are following up. >> and more serious injuries

include fans falling from poles or trees up high and some were hit by flying beer cans including these high school students' friend. >> it bounced off his head and off my shoulder and he seemed okay and then i saw blood going down his head. >> and ambulances have you goneled at times to get through the crowd and medics run aring out to help still overall the fans said everyone seemed to be having a good time. >> it was amazing. we have been indicating our entire life for this. the crowd awesome and players i was just in awe. >> reporter: and back out here ast che that was reported to b stabbed is in the hospital in critical condition. police tell us that no weapon was recovered. another concern out here was the

the eagles party kicked off in south philadelphia this morning. trish hartman is still there tonight. i follow you on social media like everyone should. this was for you the best workday ever. >> reporter: it was so muc it really was. if you watched earlier this area was packed to the gills with people. and we were squeezed in like sardines and h fun everybody was so happyared up pretty quickly parade came through the barriers have been moved aside and traffic is moving once again and street le quickly and got the confetti and trash cleaned up and now we have folks headed home or headed back to their carsion spot fans were in their places hours the parade they packed broad streetpeop while

breezy and cold. the is about to set in the next couple of minutes and hopefully you soaked the sun in because it's going away for at least three days. we look at saturday we are dealing with clouds and a dry start to the weekend. and then showers come in saturday afternoon into saturday night. 52 degrees and we get warm over the weekend and sunday it is a super soaker fog around and temperatures near 60 degrees

with the heavy rain especially sunday morning we could pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain this weekend. but before that we have the chill. 21 in philadelphia right now is the windchill and 21 in millville. and 21 in lancaster and the poconos just 6 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar we are quiet right now and there is a very weak system here west of chicago and bringing chicago and those areas in the southern great lakes 6 to 12 inches of snow than passes by to the north as we get into friday. and the morning tomorrow starting in the teens and northern suburbs, 26 if philadelphia and sunshine and clouds take over quickly mid to late morning, maybe a few snow showers up toward the lehigh valley and poconos at lunch time. and dry at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon with temperatures in the 30s and then again as we look at the exclusive accuweather forecast it gets warmer over the weekend but indoor plans this weekend and afternoon rain developing

but we start with cecily tynan and rick williams where they got a front row seat for the festivities. >> hi again. when philadelphia wins the first super bowl championship you party in style. that is what happened here at the art museum area. we got here at 8:00. there was thousands of people who really had been here some of them staying overnight. and the excitement you felt it when you walked foot area. and it didn't dissipate until maybe an hour ago. >> i thought it was amazing because we saw generations of families here. and people saying we waited our entire life for this. and didn't want to miss it. there is only one time you can see the eagles celebrate a super bowl win for the first time. and the excitement built throughout the afternoon and when they arrived here and took the stage on the art museum steps it was electric. >> like a rock concert for 9,

10, 11 hours. people were dancing when they showed the replay of super bowl lii and the play with nick foles and zach ertz with the play. to celebrate it with eagles nation was certainly special for them. >> people arrived here early and they were not just waiting around they were reliving the super bowl and then we had the music and quite a play list for the music. it was a huge party. it was mardi gras or we said lombardi gras. >> and chris long paying tribute to allen iverson. with the jersey and fur coat and kelce in a mummers outfit. >> the one lasting mess an and

victory not only for the eagles it was for the fans and it was for the city. and the eagles can throw away the title of underdogs and they are super bowl champions and they have the trophy to prove it. here is video we shot a couple of hours ago as the buses rolled through city hall. the crowds were on fire and there were smiles and cheers and you could feel the enthusiasm and passion for this team even before they got near this crowd. for hours people were raising up signs and they celebrated and cheered and screamed and they were also patient and the good news they were well behaved at least in our area and a family affair and as the super bowl champions rolled by they were greeted of fans of all ages who wait the their entire lifetime. we spoke to former mayor ed rendell about this eagles victory. >> the only city on the east

moved along the parade route and jason kelce got off the bus and started to cheer and high five people in the crowd. in his mummers outfit. he says this was the perfect time to wear an outfit in the murmurs tradition. chopper 6 hd was live off the patco station with folks parked on the grass because the lot was full and now their cars are stuck in the mud and a tow truck is on the scene trying to get them out because the big rush to get home how. >> sorry about that guys. folks are still trying to make their way home from the parade. matt pellman is live in the traffic center with the details. and things open little by little. >> exactly. we still have crowds but their positions are changing. the closures are changing as we speak. here on the ben franklin bridge still a crowd of pedestrians walking and waiting to down the

staircase but traffic is moving okay and we expect to start to see the traffic move on the parkway over the next half hour. not nearly as many spectators but cleanup crews because there say lot of cleanup to . the ramps connectsing the vine street expressway with the parkway are still block but those connecting with broad street are open. and the vine itself westbound stacked solid toward the schuylkill and hopping on 76 westbound to king of prussia the crash there is gone and now one on the eastbound side of 76 getting on to 26th street southbound to the platt bridge. and over in burlington county all afternoon we have an overturned fuel truck blocking 541 heading toward the turnpike. and no traffic is getting through. and it's a mess on mass transit as we expected. outbound service on the regional rails until 9:30 it will take

wilmington and feels 21 degrees right now in millville. as we look at satellite and radar the crystal clear sky all day long and clouds to the northern and west of the mountain chain and that is where they stay for now. because changes are on the way and we have a warm front a in from the northwest and northern parts of entral united states. and this brings a good 12 inches of snow around chicago and we misthat system and brings clouds our way and flurries towards allentown at 39 degrees and the sun today is gone as we get into our friday saturday and sunday and as the frontal boundary stalls waves of low pressure will ride along it on saturday and dry to start and rain develops in the afternoon on saturday. of 52 degrees and yes it turns warmer and 1 to 2 inched of rain is likely as we get into the afternoon. and the heaviest is sun morning. we could see localized flooding
