down in philadelphia. at wagner middle school police were notified of a gun and they are searchling the building ever since. >> bob brooks is live on the scene. >> reporter: i'll start off with the most important news. according to school officials no gun is recovered and no gun fire has happened up here. but nonetheless this is a serious situation when a call like this comes in. we have reports according to police that a female student claims she witnessed a person on campus and inside of the school here with classroom.

going in with k-9 units searching every nook and cranny after this report came in and while this was going on after the first search all the students were taken to the auditorium inside and confined in there safe and sound. again, you see the parents up here when they got these calls they were terrified. especially after transpired earlier this week in florida. they are scared and out here waiting and luckily no reports of gun fire or gun recovered.

and i'll listen to the parents and school official lee whack right now. >> i'm scared and i know he is scared and i want them to let them go. i don't know why they didn't call us. >> they just searched the classroom with the k-9 dogs and they are not releasing them until the coast is clear. >> we are at first looking to ensure safety in the building and working with the police departments and safety in the building that is our number one priority and no reports of injuries to students or staff. >> okay back out live here. you can see it looks like a sergeant we spoke with earlier came from out of the school a lot of parents are circling around him now trying to get and update on what happened. we saw s.w.a.t. team members walk out. and maybe this is ending. we'll rundown there and try to get the latest. reporting live at wagner middle school bob brooks, channel 6

"action news." >> keep us posted thank you. in florida, two of the students killed in wednesday's school shooting are being laid to rest. the 19-year-old suspect accused of gunning down 17 people is held without bail. stephanie ramos has the latest from parkland, florida. >> reporter: today this shattered community is clinging to whatever strength they can as they mourn the lives of the 17 people brutally shot to dental this parkland, florida, high school. this father's two kids were inside of the high school when the shooting happened. his son made it out safe but his 14-year-old daughter jaime did not. >> all the kids are special. >> and this man anguished over the loss of his child. >> no person should have to lose their son or daughter our spouse.

>> some students are taking their anguish and anger and disbelief to the streets. chop video shows students at a nearby high school protesting against acts of gun violence this after police release details leading up to the horrific shooting. >> that 19-year-old suspect nikolas cruz took an uber to his school with an ar 15 rifle concealed in a black case and walked floor to floor shooting and walked out with the students escaping. and his capture not easing the grief of those that lost a loved one. >> parents love your kids and hold your kids and kiss your kids and don't ever, ever miss the chance to tell them how much you love them. i love all of you. >> the funeral for two victims, both students will be held

today. abc news parkland, florida. now to an accuweather alert that is certain to affect your weekend. a winter storm watch will take effect tomorrow evening in parts of the region as we track rain and snow. lets look live outside now sky 6 hd showing you the scene from the spring mountain montgomery county kind a gloomy afternoon and not a lot of folks hitting the trails and we see lingering showers ahead of the storm tomorrow. meteorologist, melissa magee, is tracking the latest conditions from the weather center. >> hi rick, big changes up ahead and just in time for the start of our weekend. it's a winter storm watch posted for locations north and west of philadelphia. the watch goes up at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow evening. lasting right through 5:00 a.m. on sunday. the greatest impacts with the system that we are tracking is in our northwest suburbs. you see that winter storm watch. >> here is what is going on hard to believe we are tracking snow

that arrives as early as tomorrow night. stormtracker 6 live double scan 3-d, showing a frontal boundary from maine to the ohio valley. and this is providing us with light showers and lingering showers continue through 3:00, 4:00 this afternoon. the backside of that, we have colder air draining in from the north and west. later today 1:30 nast noon, numbers along the i-95 corridor in the upper 50s and the cooler air to the north and west by 11:00, 11:30 tonight numbers in the 30s anz we wake up tomorrow morni morning. temperatures are in the 20s setting us up for the colder air and precipitation to move on through. by 7:00 p.m. tomorrow evening the snow across philadelphia and portions of interior jersey and to the north and west. as far as what to expect and what we are anticipating region by region in the lehigh valley and the northwest suburbs a

because they did not find them credible. the fate of hundreds of thousands of young dreamer immigrants remains in limbo a day after the senate rejected rival plans. it would have spared the dreamers from deportation and strengthened the nation's borders. they abandoned the president and voted against the measure based on priorities he spelled out and a plan drafted by a bipartisan group of senators on capitol hill. pennsylvania supreme court is considering a slew of dueling congressional maps. seven different groups gave different maps, including the democrats. the state supreme court determined the old maps violated the constitution and must be drawn to more fairly represent of the state's voters and the head coach has until monday to adopt one of the new reconfigured maps for the state. more ahead on "action news"

a man and his brother is accused of of stockpiling chemicals to make bomb. christian and tyler with were arrested yesterday after investigators found more than 30 pounds of chemicals and bomb making materials in their apartment. he planned attacks or motives are not known at this time. >> police believe another school attack is being plotted in washington state but another alert grandmother may have stopped it. >> she found a journal detailing her grandson's plan to shoot his classmates in washington. the officers rushed to the family's home and found a semi automatic rifle in the boy's bedroom and one journal entry stated quote, i need to get the biggest fatality number i possibly can and i need to make this count.

health check this noon, there may be a big break in the battle against breast cancer. they discovered that older women had an ager marker. if the trend continues it could help with early diagnosis and possibly even present the disease in some cases. the study was funded in part by money raised by the southern connecticut breast cancer walk. well, the government says this year's flu vaccine is the second least affective vaccine in the last decade. it's only 37% affective overall in keeping people out of the doctors office but appeared to be more helpful for the younger opinions. reducing illness by 59%. and poor performance is the reason.

students from around the philadelphia region are showing off their green thumbs at the philadelphia horticulture show site today. it was created by and tore those students. judges will determine which entries are the best in show and those will be placed on exhibit at the philadelphia flower show at the convention center. that is always a nice show. it gives you the entry into

out back across pennsylvania. drifting through the ohio valley. eventually tomorrow night tracking an area of low pressure riding up along this front to the south. and in the wake of the front it pushes southward when tap into a northwesterly wind and colder air moves in just in time for the start of the weekend. and mostly cloudy and a few left over showers through the rest of the afternoon and early in the day we are in the upper 50s. and gradually falling into the rest of the tonight. here is future tracker 63:00 this afternoon light rain showers scattered about and make sure you have the wet gear with you. and tonight and early tomorrow morning a mostly clear sky and saturday morning, 8:00 sunshine and then sun giving way to increasing clouds as we track the area of low pressure moving on through. with the fresh injection of colder air moving in tonight and tomorrow morning we have the precipitation in the storm of snow in philadelphia and areas

northern and west where the winter storm watch is posted. we have mixed precipitation in areas of south jersey and along the coast. it continues into the rest of tomorrow night. still the snow along the i-95 metro area. and even across interior sections of south jersey staying all snow to the north and west. and rain down the extreme southern jersey and delaware and moves out quickly in a northwest direction into early sunday morning and sunshine should be returning by sunday afternoon. expected snowfall across the region, 1 to 3 inches here in philadelphia for glassboro and interior jersey and the immediate suburbs to the northern and west. 3 to 6 inches of snow for quarks town pottstown and kutztown and williamstown and bridgeton and none, not tracking a lot of precipitation there in south jersey. the heaviest 7:00 p.m. tomorrow
