as we look at the temperatures, the good news, the numbers are nice and mild and looks like, we're having problems with the clicker, doesn't want to advance him temperatures are actually fairly mild, tell you what, bring the camera back out on me, as we continue to have problems, but, again, the roads are dry, i'm not able to show you the radar at this time. when i come back we'll focus on the rain heading this way later this afternoon. it will stick around tomorrow afternoon. rainfall totals could exceed an inch in some locations. if you have outdoor plans this weekend make sure you have the umbrella on standby. i'll have the details on future tracker 6 when i see you in just a few minutes. >> folks, 6:01 a.m., there's noosks -- new information to tell you about, dozens of people waking up to sounds of an out-of-control driver smashing

cars in a south philadelphia neighborhood. that would be frightening to wake up. "action news" viewer showing the scene at third and porter street before 11:00 p.m. the street was turned into a demolition derby. the driver smashed a truck into 16 cars. several had to be towed from the scene. the driver's truck was badly damaged. the driver was held at the scene. we're waiting for more information from police. firefighters pulled a person from a burning home in west philadelphia. crews quickly put out the fire on the 4300 block of ludlow street. the injured person was taken to penn presbyterian hospital. we're working to learn about the person's condition. >> it's been almost a week since this big fire gutted a building and damaged another one in an old city neighborhood. the aftermath is dealing an economic punch to the old city 200 block of chestnut street.

jeff chirico takes a look at people rallying together. >> there's a lot of people walking around. >> reporter: but this friday night, third and chestnut is considered a collapse zone with police cars blocking the devastating fire scene at least one nearby business had plenty of empty tables. others like the best western hotel and the water damage little lion restaurant is still closed leaving dozens out of work. >> five days later we're not allowed in the building. reality sets in, we don't have any information. >> reporter: owner chris young estimates the little lion won't reopen for at least two months. he put out a call on facebook to find positions for his 08 staff members. >> the city tavern reached out. >> we said if you're employees want to come here, permanently or temporarily we'll be more than happy to take them off their hands. >> i'm overwhelmed how many people responded, it was very,

very cool. >> reporter: the city announced plans to demolish what remains of 237 chestnut street next week. the apartment building was destroyed sunday morning forcing 160 people to evacuate. although it still stands, preservation advocates say the 170-year-old facade is too deteriorated to save. >> hard because the 200 block of chestnut street is one of the most intact rows or blocked of 19th century fabric we have in the city. >> reporter: meanwhile, crowning is talking to insurance companies and planning a fundraiser for the out of work staff grateful to the community that rally around them. >> not everybody has found a job, but there should be enough offers out there to potentially land everybody. >> reporter: there's an iron facade that will be salvaged we're told. demolition will begin next week and will last a week, so if you

after it was revealed he did not run into the school. peterson a disgraced former sheriff deputy characterized himself is a strong pro active officer who was not shrinked in the face of danger. this is an incident he described in 2015. >> there were four males inside the calf steer i can't. i chase the them -- cafeteria. i apprehended two of them, threw them in the back, kept going, grabbed the other two. >> officials say peterson was a stellar officer before the valentine's day massacre. he was a former employee of the month and former school resource officer of the year. peterson has been working at the high school since 2005, he is reportedly quote distraught over the shooting.

student and said he idlizes serial killers. the student contacted the director of school security who alerted lehman about that, he is charged with making terroristic threats. several school districts around the condition are banning backpacks as a way to make schools safer. school leaders who made the changes at eastern ohio school are looking to give their students extra time to swap out their textbooks, students will be able to carry small purses and lunch boxes. fire officials are trying to figure out what sparked an enormous blaze in the lehigh valley that canceled classes for students. flames destroyed buses the flames erupted with tires bursting off their rims.
