philadelphia international airport. it is wet, gray we are sick of it but it is changing. right chris? >> i wish we could kick it out of here and get some sunshine later this afternoon. more rain is on the way. gray skies out there and patchy fog this morning. and steadier rains you can see here mainly north of the pennsylvania torch and north and east of the atlantic city expressway. let's make a quick zoom to interior sections of south jersey. this is all pulling out into western portions of gloucester and camden counties here. you are seeing some heavier downpours catching a break just to the west not really reporting much of anything at this point, just cloudy skies with a little patchy drizzle but more rain is heading this way. this is actually associated with the cold front. that will sweep through during the late morning hours. note behind it there's nothing going on. high pressure will build in for monday, tuesday and wednesday. we clear the skies out,

temperatures moderate and it should be pretty nice. at least to start the new workweek. numbers wise, this is the warm front here, you can see where all the lines are starting to come together. that's the warm front. south of that front it is extremely mild, temperatures are in the 50s and 60s across the delmarva. that front will be lifting to the north. we don't think it will get as far as philadelphia it will probably stop in its tracks. still kind of chilly to the south extremely mild. and it's along that front where we're seeing the fog develop. most of the delaware bay region, all reporting about one and a half miles and a little bit better to the northwest. forecast for today, another lousy afternoon. cloudy skies, rain during the morning hours. some clearing possible by afternoon. the skies might attempt to brighten up late in the day but i think for the most part it's a cloudy afternoon but mild.

temperatures in the 50s. gray? >> thank you so much for the update. it is now 7:02. there's some breaking news to tell you about from the oxford circle section of philadelphia. the action cam was at the scene of a home invasion at about 4:30 this morning police got a call from a man who had escaped from a home to a nearby wawa. when police got to the home they say they found another man inside tied up in a second floor bedroom. he had been hit over the head with a gun. he is at the hospital this morning. there is no word about his condition and so far police have not indicated how many sus peths they're looking for and whether the criminals made off with anything. there is some new information to tell but this morning. medics rushed a man to the hospital after he was shot in the neck. right now philadelphia police are looking for the shooter. the gunfire shattered the window of a car in southwest

philadelphia. we're working to learn if this man survived and if he was sitting in that car when he was shot in the neck. police are also trying to figure out a motive. there's an update right now to a story that we have been following for you. classes will resume tomorrow in a lehigh valley school district after a big bus depot fire. 25 buses were damaged or destroyed early friday morning. the district says it has enough buses left to cover transportations to the classes. the fire is reportedly not believed to be suspicious. >> in the wake of the florida school shooting tragedy, president donald trump appears to be clarifying his call to arm teachers with weapons. in a tweet the president said such a plan should be left up to states. that's a change from his initial comment last week which indicated federal legislation would pay for firearms training for teachers. president trump believes teachers with military or special training experience only the best should be given guns.

ceremonies of the olympics in south korea. a north korean delegate said they're willing to hold nuclear talks with the u.s. on friday the white house imposed its largest package of sanctions on north korea. the move is meant to pressure north korea to give up its nuclear and missile programs. the president's daughter is in south korea calling for maximum pressure on north korea. >> this morning at least two people are dead following strong storms down south. this is the damage right here that was caused by a possible tornado that hit the kentucky-tennessee border. an elderly woman is among the dead. she was actually crushed by a wall that came right down on top of her. strong winds also destroyed the home of some newlyweds. a motel in arkansas was caught in the path of another tornado. no serious injuries reported there. guests say there was little warning of what was coming their way. the saturated ground is setting off alerts that trees could topple suddenly.

missouri is under a state of emergency due to some flooding there. the rain has been pelting towns all weekend long. the bulk of the flooding is soaking the southern part of missouri. >> back here, demolition will begin this week on an old city building that was destroyed by a massive fire last sunday. the 200 block of chestnut street remains closed this morning. the city plans to demolish what remains of 327 chestnut. no one was hurt. before demolition begins a wrought iron facade will be salvaged. new this morning, a teenager is in the hospital after a rollover accident on roosevelt boulevard. it happened in the southbound lanes just before midnight. that driver is listed in stable

>> time now for accuweather. i mean really? what is going on? >> what was that movie, groundhog day. it's like seattle out there. let's go over to the weather center, looking at the philadelphia international airport and more rain is developing on the radar this morning here. you can see the runways behind me. everything is wet we've had some heavier downpours push through over the last couple of hours as we take a look at storm tracker, there is more rain. we're zoomed into western portions of camden and gloucester counties. we've had a couple of heavy downpours push through. lots of ponding reported you need to slow it down, let this next batch of downpours pull through you can see across philadelphia county and the immediate western suburbs things quiet down just a little bit and yet another round is waiting in the wings. we go a little farther to the

north, up into the lehigh valley, more steady to occasional rain falling, as we go a little bit wider out you can see the cold front is still off to the west. that front has to pull through before we finally clear everything out of here. so you can see that line of rain stretching from southern new england all the way down across the appalachian states. you can see this little squall line here. that's the actual cold front that will be pushing through. we call it a cold front but temperatures behind this front really aren't all that cold. it's a pacific air mass so the numbers are still in the 40s and 50s which means as we get into monday and tuesday and wednesday, we're still talking about unusually mild weather for this time of the year with highs easily in the upper 50s. some locations could touch 60 especially tuesday and wednesday. right now we're showing 43, dew point 42. that's why we're seeing pochy fog. once the dew point reaches the temperature the air becomes

saturated. we do have a little bit of a wind chill this morning. right now it's 38 degrees in philadelphia. some locations a little bit cooler. there's your warm front right there. that will be lifting to the north throughout the day. south jersey and delaware more than likely you're in the 60s. lehigh valley and the poconos mid 40s depending on your location and how far is this front actually wants to lift. but you can see the mild temperatures out to the south and west. it's 60 degrees out in charleston and pittsburgh. and again that front will be lifting to the north during the course of the day. let's go hour by hour for you. steadier rains continue through about 10:00 or 11:00 a.m., that will push through by lunchtime, 1:00, things will start to quiet down. it's still cloudy and damp, maybe a little bit of drizzle or mist going on. by 1:00 we're in the 60s in places like dover and wildwood probably close to 60.

actually monday and tuesday and wednesday all look pretty nice at this point especially for february standards. let's talk about the rain right now in philadelphia this was as of 5:00 this morning. we've already added to this now. we were at 5.54 inches. this was the seventh wettest february on record records date back to 1874. storm tracker showing plenty more rain out there. you can see heavier bands to the north out here across ocean and burlington counties and then it's a light to moderate steady rain. let's zoom into ocean county look at the heavy downpours. there's a lot of open land we're not seeing any flooding, no advisories that have been issued by the national weather service or anything like that. this not an action news alert

medics having have rush through people to the hospital on i-95. the crash happened just before 4:00 this morning. one of the vehicles flipped over. there's no word on the conditions of the injured. police are trying to determine if rain played a role in this accident. this morning a 15-month-old child is dead and the family is just devastated. police say that baby was killed by the people who the mother left to care for this child. action news reporter annie mccormick has reaction from a stunned wilmington neighborhood. >> reporter: family members of 15-month-old chosen are grieving. >> they get what they deserve because he's a baby. >> he didn't deserve it. >> he didn't. he was so handsome. >> >> reporter: they remember just seeing him days ago. >> i seen him like two days before i was looking in his eyes because he remind me of my son.

and now they want the rights to exclusively own the phrase too. you know the epic play. now according to espn the team filed to trademark the phrase the philly special mostly for use on apparel. but the eagles aren't the first in line, they're actually eighth. ahead of them people in pennsylvania, new jersey and even maryland and florida. local brewing company yuenling also filed for rights to own the trade. the eagles will have to wait about four months for the trademark office to sort out the filings and another eight months for an answer. apparently the big question here is whether the play's name belongs to the eagles or on deserves to be in the public domain.
