live some heavier showers out to the west and more downpours over eastern portions of ocean county. so from jackson mills, the great adventure area, southward through toms river all reporting steadier rains. there's route 70 all the way to the shore points here it's a slow go. accuweather alert, we're not even seeing flood advisories but we are seeing ponding on the road. just take it slow and get to safely. there's more rain out to your west across central and portions apennsylvania. all this has to pull through. it's going to be a little lighter during the late morning hours than what we're seeing now, it's more rain over saturated grounds. dense fog advisory also in effect. the delaware bay region right now seeing visibilities down to less than a quarter mile. this advisory is up for atlantic, cape may, cumberland counties jersey as well

busted in overnight. it happened in the oxford circle section at 4:30 this morning. one man escaped from the home and ran two blocks to a wawa to call 911. another man was tied up and hit in the head with a gun in a second floor bedroom. >> action news has learned that classes will resume tomorrow in a lehigh valley school district after a huge bus depot fire. 25 buses were damaged or destroyed by that inferno. the district says it has enough of its own buses left to cover transportation to classes. that fire is reportedly not believed to be suspicious. >> new this morning, philadelphia police are looking for a gunman who shot a man in the neck. the late-night gunfire shattered the window of a sedan. the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. his condition is not known at this time. a teenager is in the

hospital after his vehicle overturned overnight. it happened in the southbound lanes just before midnight. the teenaged driver was taken to hospital in stable condition. there's no word on what caused the driver to lose control and overturn. >> your time now 9:05. from our delaware news room this morning, a 15 month old baby is dead and action news has learned that two people are facing murder charges. police say the mother left her toddler in the care of suspects. action news reporter annie mccormick has the story from wilmington. >> reporter: family members of 15 month old chosen are grieving after his death a week ago. police announced two people are charged with his death. >> they get what they deserve. because he's a baby. >> he didn't do serve it. >> he didn't. he was so handsome. >> they remembered just seeing

heavy snow and white-out conditions force the colorado state patrol to close parts of highway 93 right near denver this weekend. authorities say blowing snow made it impossible for cars and trucks to safely navigate. for a time only plows were allowed on the roads. the same system caused heavy flooding in parts of the midwest. in louisville, kentucky rescue teams have been busy searching for people who may have been stuck. as the ohio river continues to z rye. up to 8 inches of rain has fallen in that area. the ohio river is forecasted to crest and slowly recede.

other areas have seen a deluge of rain. >> after seeing what's happening in other parts of the country, i'm not going to complain. >> the pattern, it's kind of just stopped. so where they're seeing rain it keeps raining. where they're seeing the sun, it's been sunny for days on end. we're not in that area. get you over to the weather center and take a live look outside looking at the philadelphia international airport. it's another day of gray and gloom. we'll see that rain on and off-type stuff through the late morning hours and through the afternoon it low level clouds and the heavier rains should shut off around lunchtime. we're zoomed into our western suburbs. you can see the heavier rains indicated by the yellows, even a few specs of everybody else seeing a light to moderate rain. as i mentioned earlier in the

broadcast we're not seeing any problems with flooding at this time but we are getting reports of serious ponding on area roadways. the wider view shows plenty more to come out to the west across northern and central portions of pennsylvania stretching from williamsport all the way down to baltimore and dc. this will slide through late in the day. once the front crosses the area, finally we'll put an end to all this misery and we'll see the return of some sunshine by this afternoon. philadelphia international up to 10 miles. no visibility issues here. we're seeing low level clouds but no fog. you've got to go all the way south they're socked in pretty good. it's only .4 mile right now in dover, .3 in wildwood. the warm front is just starting to push into the area. temperatures are still in the 40s. but as this front continues to lift to the north during the day, all of a sudden these 40s

will be replaced with 60s. dover could actually reach 65 or 66 today. millville your forecasted high is something like 62 or 63. depending how far north this travels that will ultimately dictate how warm or chilly you get in your neighborhood. south and east it looks like mid 60s, philadelphia about 55. this plume here, here's a water vapor shot. this is all moisture streaming northward into the mid atlantic states. the plume will finally shift east but we're going to need one more day to get it off the coast here. by 10:00 a.m. future tracker still showing some leftover showers or a steadier period of rain. right around lunchtime this all comes to an end. still cloudy and damp but no more rain. by afternoon same thing, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, lots of clouds. tomorrow morning clouds, by

9:23 sunday morning philadelphia has now moved into the top ten. wettest februarys ever for the city of brotherly love. that was as of 5:00 this morning. we've obviously been adding to that as the morning has been progressing along here. our records go back to 1874. so out of 143 years worth of data, this is now the seventh wettest february ever for philly. there's more rain out there. the cold front actually stretches from syracuse all the way down like this. now temperatures behind the front aren't terribly cold. we'll call it tool for february standards. ultimately what this front will do is as it pushes east will sweep all this rain out of here and clear it out for monday. monday actually looks really nice. we're zoomed into chester and lancaster counties, reporting pretty heavy rain at this point. lots of yellows and darker

closet. >> it sounded like dynamite when all the windows busted out. >> yeah, dynamite. you don't think you'll ever be hit by one. >> and in kentucky rescue teams remain at the ready as flood warnings remain in effect for the entire portion of the ohio river in the louisville metropolitan area. >> this morning police are searching for the person who shot a man on a south philadelphia street. the action cam at that scene the 700 block of mckeen street. police arrived there after receiving reports of gunshots in the area. they found a man lying in the street with a bullet injury to his stomach. medics took him to jefferson university hospital where there's no word about his condition and so far police have not indicated a motive for the crime. shots were fired inside a athletic club in bucks county. police say two men were arguing when one of them shot the other. that victim in stable condition. we're told the suspect got away. >> a philadelphia police officer is recovering this morning after he was hit by a stolen car.

this is the scene on the 3100 block in the city aesz kensington section. the officer responded to reports of a man crashing into parked cars. the officer suffered a leg injury. the suspect was taken into custody and now faces various charges. that awful sound got residents of this south philadelphia street out of their homes. the destruction did not end until mike mcgee and some of his neighbors ran up to the truck. >> i opened the door up he was fighting back. >> we had to stop him because we didn't know whether he was going to go all the way down the block, hit somebody, kill somebody. >> police arrested the man they say was the driver of the pickup, 43-year-old james keeser

flooding in parts every texas. yesterday police had to rescue the driver of this pickup after the water quickly rose and overwhelmed the vehicle. the driver said the water was halfway up his door and was still rising. more rain is expected in the area today. so i guess it could always be worse. >> is there anywhere where it is not raining at this point. get you outside with more rain and a lot of low level clouds. you're supposed to be looking at the center city skyline there but the low level clouds are shrouding the skyscrapers. you go about less than a thousand feet up and all of a sudden you can see the visibility being object extract -- obstructed there. we'll continue with this all morning long through about midday and then conditions will slowly start to improve.

a shield of light rain for just about the whole area, the exception being the coast here where it is still cloudy and damp with some fog, a lot of dense fog down there in cape may. every now and then we start to pick up a few yellows and oranges which would represent something a little heavier than showers. this is racing east. should be right in center city within the next half hour or so then it will cross over the delaware river and into western portions of gloucester, camden and burlington counties in new jersey. one thing i want to point out here is look how far to the north this rain-snow line is, it's the end of february. are you kidding me? this could easily be over dc or even us. instead it's farther north up into new england and even boston and albany are reporting rain and not snow philadelphia with a dew point of 43. winds are out of the east at 9

miles per hour and we have a current wind chill of 40 degrees in philadelphia. the fog really isn't the issue in the city, it's the low level clouds. at ground level you're showing 6 miles that's not bad. most of the i-95 corridor not bad. you go a little farther south and east. and about a half mile right now in cape may. there's your warm front right there. you can see all these lines coming together they converge. that's the front snaking its way across pennsylvania. all of this here will be lifting north. the problem is i don't think the front is going to get too much farther north. lehigh valley and the poconos are probably stuck in the 40s today where as south jersey and delaware you're going to be enjoying 6 0s. periods of rain until afternoon.

this time around because it's really getting dense across parts of the area. you get into cumberland, cape may, we do have a dense fog advisory in effect until noon. visibility will frequently drop off below a quarter of a mile in this part of our viewing area here. just take it slow on the roads. along with that we're seeing a lot of ponding on area roadways. visibility-wise we're down to a half mile in millville, .8 in wildwood, the numbers are starting to drop off again. 5 miles in wilmington, 3 in philadelphia and trenton 2. no visibility issues out here to the west. that heavier rain is starting to clear that part of our viewing area so the numbers are rebounding. now let's talk about the rain. there it is on storm tracker 6. the whole area picking up rain at this point here. jersey shore even though you're not seeing shades of green, you're seeing drizzle or mist from cape may up to atlantic city. this is all steady and light from interior sections of south

jersey all the way up into the lehigh valley and the poconos. look how far to the north this rain-snow line is. usually this time of the year it could be down to the virginias and the carolinas. right now we're seeing a warm front lift flew and the warm weather goes up into the middle portions of new england. they're seeing rain with this storm. there's just no cold air out there. here's the zoomed in shot, philadelphia, moderate to heavy rain being indicated by the darker shades of green and the yellows. all of this pushing over the delaware river the rain eases up across chester and lancaster counties. for today morning rain some of it is going to be heavy through about midday and the rain shuts off from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. west to east. the big concern isn't flooding it's a lot of ponding on roadways. skies may brighten up later in the day. i'll be back along in just a few

boulevard overnight. it happened in the southbound lanes just before midnight. the teenaged driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition. there is no word on what caused the driver to lose control and overturn. >> from our delaware news room, a heartbreaking story. this morning a 15 month old baby is dead and action news has learned two people are now facing murder charges. police say the mother left the toddler in the care of the suspects. action news reporter annie mccormick has the story from wilmington. >> family members of 15 month old chosen are grieving after his death a week ago. saturday wilmington police charged with his death. >> they get what they deserve because he's a baby. >> he didn't deserve it. >> he didn't. he was so handsome. >> they remember just seeing them just days ago. >> i seen him like two days before he remind me of my son.

he was just smiling and it's crazy to find out two days later he ain't here. it's just crazy. >> reporter: according to police the mother left them with the suspects to babysit at their apartment. someone from the couple's apartment took the child to the hospital last saturday where he later died. police began an investigation working with the attorney general's office and child services. the medical examiner deemed this a homicide after discovering chosen died of blunt force trauma. a go fund me page to raise money shows a photo of chosen's smiling face with a brief message from his grandmother saying on 2/17 our life was forever changed. both adults are charged with murder by abuse or neglect in the first degree. they remain in jail on $100,000 bail. annie mccormick, channel 6 action news. >> happening today, changes go into effect for septa's city and

border. an elderly woman is among the dead. she died after a wall came down on top of her. the wind also destroyed the homes of some newly weds. guests say there was little warming warning of what was coming their way. there are concerns that saturated grounds from a week's worth f rain could topple more trees. >> we're talking about our rain but nothing like that. >> that's the kind of weather you typically get in april and may, not february. this makes you wonder if this is going to be a super extended severe weather this season. hopefully not. let's go over to the weather center we have lots of rain here in our neck of the woods but it's just that. we're not seeing any severe weather. it's all just rain. as we get closer and closer to the beginning of march, i've put together a little preview here

what we're thinking what will happen. right now it does look like the pattern is going to turn colder. no more 60s and 70s and the pattern looks a little stormy especially for the first two weeks of march. it doesn't necessarily mean snow, but it could mean snow especially for higher elevations. a couple of storm signals one around the 2nd and 3rd of march and about a week later. we are daylight spring officially arrives on march 20th. as we take a look at storm tracker 6, lots of green about the area and some yellows speckled in here from trenton down across the i-95 corridor into wilmington. this is where the heaviest rain is falling at this point from the medford lakes area. right where 55, 40 and delsi drive come together.

they're seeing downpours here. all this is pushing east at about 20 miles per hour starting to catch a little bit of a break now wilmington and philadelphia. all of this has to punch through before sky conditions finally will clear. here's an interesting stat. all-time wettest february, atlantic city, this is the second wettest february ever now and our records go back 143 years. allentown this is the fifth wettest, trenton sixth, philadelphia seventh. visibility continues to be an issue. we're down to less than half a mile in millville, we have a dense fog advisory for south jersey and delaware until noon. visibility is better off northwest. 10 miles in both reading and lancaster as the warm front starts to lift. it's starting to get farther to the north now. this whole area here will sky rocket into the low to mid 60s

later today. the lehigh valley more than likely you're stuck in the upper 40s. i don't think the front makes it quite that far north. that's the last of it by afternoon it's mainly just cloudy. going to be some left overdrizzle but mainly clouds. we shut that precipitation off tomorrow morning the clouds and the sun republican -- returns by the afternoon. should feature a lot of sunshine out there. but another storm heading this way as we get into thursday, friday and saturday. here's a mid week time frame, the air sinks, you don't even get any clouds. bright and sunny during that period and here comes another southern storm and the problem with this storm is it's going to run into a block over my shoulder and it's going to stall right here across the mid atlantic states. we could have three straight days of driving rain and if the low strengthens off the coast, maybe you get some big time
