and snow on the northern end of it. this is is the primarily low going into two separate entities and one nor'easter taking over our coastline. in fact, 3:30 p.m. this afternoon there is is the primary low and the surface low. and pay attention to the white lines. the isobars, the lines of equal pressure. the more lines the stronger the winds. they come closer together 7:00 tomorrow morning. as the nor'easter develops south of new england and at that time you see the colder air from the north and west collapsing in over the poconos and the lehigh valley and morning and still rain at that point in philadelphia. as we go into the afternoon the storm continues to deepen and crank enup and you see the snow going up to philadelphia into south jersey and it's a transition tomorrow from rain to snow as the wind increases. here is the timeline, a long duration storm.

the storm gets stuck to the east and not going to move quickly. tonight heavy rain arrives. a half inch to inch overnight tonight of rain everywhere. friday night snow in the poconos and light rain in the area. and tomorrow afternoon the second half of the storm comes in as the winds howl and the rain changes over to a heavy wet snow. and for the most dangerous part of this storm. and there are so many different elements. the most dangerous part is the destructive winds. >> that is right, adam. the mere thought of snow gets everyone's attention. but winds are the star of the storm. high wind warning posted friday morning through saturday morning for all of our viewing area and the peak will be friday at lunch time. through midnight. this is when the wind gusts are more than 50 miles per hour. the low level jet. 5,000 feet above the surface. if you look above the area the

sustained winds above the surface 60 to 70 miles per hour. and the area taking it on the chin. new england and cape cod and boston, 90 miles per hour sustained winds and when you get the heavy precipitation it taps into the winds and pulls them down to the surface and the potential for destructive winds and also when you get the piling up of the water along the shore, the high surf, a coastal flood watch posted through saturday night and the coastal flooding will likely be the worse up to the north but with the persistent wave action retro grading moving to the west. we see coastal flooding. high tide in atlantic city. friday morning and friday evening, at this point looks minor and then the storm deepens and moves farther to the west. moderate to major flooding expected along the coast friday saturday morning. >> lets head to new jersey where

"action news" reporter, john rawlins live along the boardwalk in ventnor where people and officials are preparing for the big storm. >> reporter: indeed they are. we had rain and it stops nor now. folk as long the shore aware of the forecast. and some made preparations like figuring out where to park their car. >> the wide expansion of beach will the storm trigger erosion here. during the next 24 to 48 hours, rain and gusting wind and tidal flooding expected. what do people make of the forecast. >> half and half. there are people that take it seriously and people that don't. >> some people dismiss it. >> yes. >> other people take it seriously. because i don't want my car ruined i take it seriously. >> the potential for flooding at the top of that community is the concern. >> highest tides are saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. we are asking folks to be ready to move

vehicles to higher ground. in ventnor the map in tim grables office is showing likely to flood and so on. >> the water comes if here first in these corners and then along the avenue. >> and it may flood during weekend high tides. to get around ventnor has the desert storm vehicle ready one of two storm trucks. and the home of the rody family for 53 years, with forecasts like today kathleen does a careful calculation. >> i judge when high tide is and how high the winds are and a full moon, you put them together and you know if you have to move your car. >> well, kathleen and her husband have seen a lot of street flooding in five decades but all part of the tradeoff for living near the water at the shore. and waiting to see what happens

"action news" talked to peco crews today they are prepared to react to power outages come tomorrow and staffers are on stand by to respond quickly and the spokesperson says they routinely trim trees throughout the year and are ready for a storm like this. franklinville and took into custody a 10-year-old student of this school district. and at this time he has admitted to making the threats towards the school. >> i do want to encourage the parents to please, please pay close attention to what your children are doing online. whether it's social media or email. this is just an unfortunate situation where a student was online hiding behind the computer making threatening statementses and bad decisions. i can't tell you enough how important it is to be aware of what your children are doing online. >> reporter: now, for the 10-year-old in question. police ordered him to undergo psychological help before he is released to his family. and classes are back to normal tomorrow but with a stepped up police presence and praise that teacher for immediately reporting that threatening email in the middle of the night. >> quick action.

the young boy -- so young. the owner of two bucks county pawnshops is among the defendants charged in a large theft ring. pennsylvania attorney general, josh shapiro announced the arrest of michael stein and four employees from morrisville pawn and loan and quick cash trading post. shapiro says the shops made nearly $500,000 by purchasing stolen goods at one-third value and selling them at full price. they bought them from professional thieves known as boosters who routinely steal from large stores like wal-mart and cvs. >> they knew it was stolen misdemeanor but the owners and employees were blinded by the greed. 27 so-called boosters are facing charges in this scam they say they were using their share of

new here at 4:00 president trump's latest commerce announcement is raising concern about a trade war with china. this afternoon he told steel and aluminum executives he would impose import tariffs in the hopes of increasing sales for american manufacturers. the change is expected to start sometime next week. the president says that the import tariff will be 25% on steel and 10% on aluminum.

talk about the elements to the storm here we start with a warm side to the storm. temperatures in the mid-50s. 54 in reading and 52 in millville and even the poconos at 50 degrees. the primary low the spin north of cincinnati that is the first piece of energy that will transfer the energy off the coast and that storm just starting and that is the storm that we have to watch is the one that develops to the east. as everything pushes from the ohio valley to the atlantic ocean, 8:00 tonight a solid area of green with a steady moderate rainfall. everywhere and the poconos with temperatures in the 50s. 11:00 tonight you start to see the brighter colors, the heavier rainfall coming through and a half inch in southern areas to as much as 2 inches north of the city of philadelphia overnight tonight and that could prompt flooding up there. 7:00 tomorrow morning, there could be a lull in the rain and light rain around the region and rain in the lehigh valley tomorrow morning and the rush of 40 degrees there is the colder

air as the snow collapses down in the afternoon hours tomorrow at 5:00 in the evening rush and could be blinding snow given how strong the winds are temperatures in the upper 30s and snow should not stick on the roads and mainly on the grassy surfaces because of how warm it has been and midnight tomorrow night still dealing with the snow around the region. so how much to expect with this snow part of the storm. a coating to 2 inches. land caster and philadelphia and millville. again grassy surfaces and 2 to 4 for berks and montgomery and northern can chester county and bucks county and lehigh valley to the poconos 4 to 12 inches of heavy wet snow that could be confined up into the poconos but the most dangerous part of the storm will be the damaging winds. 12 hours with gusts 50 to 65 miles per hour. we are coming off february one of the wettest months on record and the ground is not frozen and extremely saturated and every tree is susceptible to being

then the temperatures drop. and then everyone sees snow on the back end. we look at stormtracker 6 live double scan you see the rain starting to push in from the west and the south, the first low pressure center over the ohio valley that low is dying off and falling apart and pushing the energy to the coast that will develop a new storm. the actual nor'easter that takes over late tonight and during the day on friday. so first things first, the rain we have a flood watch for philadelphia. and also into camden county all points to the north into mercer county and the lehigh valley and tonight into friday night 1 to 2 inches of rain and flooding on the streets and some of the creeks as well as some streams given how saturated the ground is. as we take a look at the rain going into tomorrow morning. an inch and a half philadelphia and over an inch in wilmington and same for allentown and 3 inches in the poconos. at the very beginning of the storm and then we talk about the cold air taking over and winter

storm warning for the poconos and winter weather advisory for north hamilton including bethlehem and part of the lehigh valley. this is for tomorrow morning through 4:00 a.m. on saturday. this is the area that will see the most snow out of the storm. as we look at future tracker 6 snow totals here the darker blues are 6 to 12 inches, that is the poconos up to 3 inches of rain and then 6 to 12 inches of snow and the brink of the lehigh valley close to 3 inches down there and extends farther south we'll talk about that for the delaware valley and the destructive winds that come with the storm coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> all right thank you. lets check in with mobile 6 moving now live along the white horse pike in somerdale, new jersey. moving at a good pace and not much falling at the moment. and we are of course, expecting that to change. and the windshield wipers coming

entire school districts in the early morning hours. they did arrest a 10-year-old boy in connection with the the threat. this is what is happening in the last week or so. around the region and around the country. school threats and the aftermath of the deadly shooting at the school in parkland, florida. >> at 1:30 this morning the franklin township police received a phone call from a teacher at ritter school -- >> that teacher at the caroline ritter school told police she received an email threatening a shooting at the school today. officials decided to close the entire district and two other nearby districts as they investigated whether the threat was real and where it came from. and meantime more threatening emails showed up in the inboxes of principals and the superintendant. >> we sent out subpoenas to the phone companies and pro requireds and established an address and myself and other detectives went to the address in franklinville and took into

custody a 10-year-old student of the school district. >> miles away in upper dash yes another scare prompted a lock down at beverly hills middle school because a student exposed a pellet gun and it never made its way to school but parents rushed to retrieve their children. >> back in franklin township parents and students say they too were upset by the threat especially in the aftermath of the deadly school shooting in florida. >> 17 kids died in florida. people that joke around with this, they don't understand it hurts other people. >> i didn't expect this and crazy now-a-days you have to worry about this type of stuff at school. >> in upper darby the lockdown was liftd this morning. here in franklin township the 10-year-old student is charged with making terroristic threats
