>> and a lot of people do have some trouble with that, that you see. [ laughter ] >> not too pretty. i'm sorry for that mental picture, i apologize. >> that's why they call it a mental challenge. it'll be a challenge tomorrow to stay warm. you will find my big gloves, fleece pants, big coat and hat. >> out there running gear? that some good layering. >> yeah, i did my snowflake year. >> i might have to borrow some. >> wilson looks beautiful right now, it's gorgeous outside when you take a look at all of the sunshine that we are seeing. but goodness, it's chilly and will be even colder tonight. we were talking during the commercial break, renee asked me if we would be seeing a record low it is said, no, we are not anywhere close. the record low is 2 for tomorrow morning and we're looking at 16. let me tell you, you're not going to wanted to be any colder than it will be.
12:43 pm
coldest low we have seen so far this winter but we will see. sometimes we make it into the single digits. some people probably will, especially up near the virginia line. right now 41 in fayetteville, 34 in raleigh. we had that cold air pushing into the northwest first, it helps to cool things down up near the virginia line. before the front moves through down in fayetteville, they got to warm up a little bit more with the sunshine. but it will continue to see cold air spilling in. probably not going to warm up any more than that 41. 14 in boone, 21 in asheville, as that colder hits the mountains first, you can see what we're in for. the windchill is making it feel like -5 in boone, 6 in asheville. feeling like 19 in greensboro, 19 up in virginia and some of our counties that border virginia. feels at 28 in raleigh, 34 in fayetteville. it may be 41 but it does not feel like it. here's a look at more temperatures. single digits for pittsburgh, cincinnati and chicago, 12 in charleston, west virginia and

northwest, this is pushing toward us. take it out through the afternoon, and we're looking at, this is just actual temperatures. this is not windchill. but, 30 degrees at 5:00 and the teens for pittsburgh, charleston and cincinnati. then we dropped down into the mid teens, single digits in charleston and pittsburgh. really, really cold. even at lunchtime, 25 degrees and the high tomorrow just barely makes it to about freezing. don't forget wednesday morning also will be very close, only a couple of degrees warmer than what we will see tomorrow morning. a couple of very frigid mornings. of course, don't leave pets outside, check in on elderly neighbors, do what you can to protect the pipes. it will be one of those nights tonight and tomorrow night. take a look at satellite and radar picture, high pressure sitting here, the cold blast of air coming in, that will stay with us for about 48 hours or so.
12:45 pm
probably n going to want to call it a warm up because it's still going to be awfully cold. wednesday, 40 degrees with the morning low of 18. we will have a system that zips in, once it hits the mountains it will lose moisture but if it doesn't, we could see a few flurries early wednesday. right now that looks like all that would be. in the nearly normal day thursday, 48, 28, and i showed you this friday the we're going to be talking a whole bunch about this as we get closer. we have a low that will develop, moving and most likely will bring us rain for the bulk of the day friday. but as it moves down, cold air moves in and a changeover to a -- wintry mix or some snow in parts of the viewing area. that may linger into saturday. something that we'll have our eye on. it is that time of year. >> i have plenty of time for that. >> needs to wrap up. >> we had 2 inches of snow in parts of the viewing area yesterday. so we still have work to do. >> i got to stay home yesterday. [ laughter ] >> when we don't have to be in
