flurries or snow showers. more about that coming up. renee? >> thank you, elizabeth. three days after a hit-and- run crash killed two teenagers in harnett county and still no arrested. it happened on saturday night on highway 421 near broadway. 13-year-old jennifer shark and killed. the teens were walking home from a convenience store when they were hifrom behind. investigators are combing through security camera video at homes and businesses hoping to find the vehicle. raleigh police are searching for suspects in an armed robbery following an basketball game. five friends from routen high school were playing basketball when four suspects approached them. they stole their cell phones and a suv. as they left officers say they fired a shot.

away. well, tonight the city of fayetteville will hold public hearings on whether the city seal should stay or go. >> the seal features a building where slaves were once sold. it has been a source of controversy for some time. wral jim miklaszewski joins us -- mikaya thurmond joins us live from fayetteville where the meetings will be. >> reporter: fayetteville city leaders will hold the first public meetings beginning tonight to discuss changing the city's seal. the seal has been a source of controversy and discussion in recent months because it holds an image of the market house, a place where slaves were once bought and sold. north carolina's capitol once stood on the site and it is

u.s. constitution in 1889. alternative seals including the dogwood flowers, the la fayette search cross creek park and blanco university could be possible images. the meeting is at the city hall at 6:00 p.m. three other meetings are slated for january 28th. the city has used the seal for at least 20 years, bill and renee, however the police and fire department don't. >> mikaya thurmond on the controversy of the fayetteville city seal. there is a meeting in wayne county today about coal ash. duke energy wants to excavate nearly 6 million tons of ash in basins at the retired hf lee plant in goldsboro. at 2 this afternoon wayne commissioners will hear about the coal ash issue from a public health expert from unc. the north carolina attorney general is looking into the

thousands of customers will mistakely enrolled in plans they didn't sign up for and did not receive insurance cards on time and were not able to get coverage. many, if not all, did not sign up through the affordable health care act. those customers should receive their i.d. cards by next week and they have identified and refunded money to most of those overbilled. customer service reps are working extended hours to handle all the issues. now that economic sanctions have been lifted, iran jumps oo into the market planning to increase oil production by half a million barrels per day, adding to a market already plush with oil. prices are under $30 a barrel, a 13-year low. michigan governor rick snyder delivers his state of

raleigh with more. >> reporter: this is a proposal that could affect as many as 5,000 students in wake county. the idea is to boost the low performing schools by switching them to year round so students have less breaks inbetween the learning time. the school board will talk about this issue during a work session this afternoon. right now staff is considering moving nine elementary schools from traditional calendar to year-round track four. three other schools are looking at changing and are on some sort of year round plan already. the board plans to talk about how the change would impact the low income families when students are not in school. i had a chance to look over the materials from the school district online this morning and some of the advantages the staff lists for making the change is more flexibility to make-up, bad weather day, avoiding burnout to teachers and students and giving more time for teacher training without the teachers having to leave the classroom. the work session will be here
